1 Scope of Test and Assessment Criteria for the Issue of the TÜV NORD Test Mark for glass fibre fabrics (as at 05/13) I General The aim of these tests, which are performed on a voluntary basis for the manufacturer, is to make an assessment in terms of technical characteristics of the material that are relevant for all practicle purposes. Furthermore the glass fibre fabric is tested with regard to sanitary harmlessness. To reach this aim, the total product is tested for its allergenic potential and its toxic potential. II Basis for the test The tests and examinations to be performed before the TÜV NORD test mark is issued are based on the recognised technical rules and standards, such as ISO and DIN standards and VDI regulations. In addition, the recognised medical / allergological test methods relevant to dealing with such problems are used. 5 page 5 of 18 III Basis tests 1 Investigations of the product regarding crack reinforcement and dry construction The crack reinforcing effect of the glass fibre fabric is determined according to DIN EN by using plasterboards. Thereby the achieved breaking load reinforcement in longitudinal and transverse direction is determined by using the glass fibre fabrics. 2 Investigations of the product regarding crack bridging The crack bridging effect of the glass fibre fabric is determined according to DIN EN by using plasterboards. Thereby the crack bridging breadth is determined, which can be achieved in longitudinal and transverse direction by using the glass fibre fabrics. 3 Investigations of the product regarding impact and perforation resistance (a) Impact resistance The impact resistance of the glass fibre fabric is determined according to DIN EN by using an impact device. Using this device the impact of a doorknob on a plasterboarded wall wallpapered with glass fibre fabrics is simulated. (b) Perforation resistance The perforation resistance of the glass fibre fabric is determined according to DIN EN ISO Investigations of the product regarding abrasion and scrub resistance (using coatings) For testing the abrasion and scrub resistance the glass fibre fabrics is first coated with a provided paint and then exposed to a impact and scratching load, which simulates a hospital bed repercussive and grinding along the wall. 5 Investigations of the product regarding resistance to disinfectants and cleaning agents (using coatings) For testing the resistances to disinfectants and cleaning agents the glass fibre fabrics is first coated with a provided paint and is then tested according to DIN EN ISO using the following disinfectants mentioned in the list of the Robert-Koch-Institute in the Federal Health Gazette 2007 of : Buraton 10 F (Active ingredient: Formaldehyde, aldehydes) Clorina (Active ingredient: Chlorine) Perform (Active ingredient: Per compounds) Helipur (Active ingredient: Phenols, Phenol compounds) Incidin perfect (Active ingredient: Formaldehyde, aldehydes)

6 page 6 of 18 6 Investigation of the product regarding water vapour permeability The water vapour permeability of the glass fibre fabric is determined according to DIN EN ISO Investigation of the product regarding resistance to fire As proof of the fire safety of the glass fibre fabrics the resistance to fire is determined according to DIN EN 13501, DIN EN and DIN EN ISO Inevstigation of the product regarding toxicological and food regulatory classification 8.1 Investigation concerning toxicological classification Preliminary remarks 1. The glass fibre fabric is tested for harmful substances of the material and for gaseous emissions in an emission chamber. 2. Substances according to the test point III which are determined by screening after three days and 28 days the VOC sum is calculated (cf. Annex 5). If the emission results after 3 days exceed the 28-days limits before then, the emission chamber test may be stopped earlier. Then the test mark cannot be awarded. 3. Substances according tot he test point III which are determined by screening are quantified by internal or external standards; only substances for which no standards are available a semi-quantitative estimation of their concentrations is done. In this case, the peak areas are interpreted by toluene equivalents Phenols, alkyltin- and phosphororganic compounds (cf. IV Test mark 1 Taking the results as per III and provided the assessment criteria specified in V are fulfilled, TÜV NORD hereby grants permission to use the TÜV NORD test mark. 2 TÜV NORD will draw up a certificate and release it for duplication for informative and marketing purposes.

9 page 9 of 18 3 The scope of services to be provided by TÜV NORD relates to the glass fibre fabrics submitted for testing. If there are changes in the product esp. corresponding to the compounds that may have influence on allergological, toxicological or material properties, the basic tests described in III must be performed again. 4 Use of TÜV NORD test mark involves an annual test of a sample of the glass fibre fabrics taken from production or storage by TÜV NORD. 5 Minor production-related changes, that have no influences regarding allergological, toxicological or material properties mean that a retest is necessary; this is included in the scope of services provided by the periodic tests. 6 If defects are found during the periodic tests, they must be rectified within three months. V Assessment criteria The assessment criteria of material properties for the glass fibre fabircs are determined by TÜV NORD. The glass fibre fabric is assessed as part of an interdisciplinary expert appraisal taking account of the current state (as at ) of recognised environmental-medical threshold values for material and air constituents. The results of the emission chamber tests cf. paragraphs V and V are converted according to the release of the Committee for Health-related Evaluation of Building Products AgBB June 2012 to concentrations according to the in chapter 4.2 described exposure scenario specified reference room using equation 1 and air change rates of 0,5 1/h. These for the reference room calculated concentrations are used for the assessment according to this testing specification. The following criteria must be fulfilled before the TÜV NORD test mark is awarded: 1 Crack reinforcement and dry construction By using the glass fibre fabric the breaking load has to be greater than more than 40 % in longitudinal direction and more than 20 % in transverse direction than without glass fibre fabric. 2 Crack bridging The glass fibre fabric has to fulfil the following requirements: In transverse direction the crack bridging class A5 has to be be achieved, at least 3 mm. In longitudinal direction the crack bridging class A4 has to be achieved, at least 1,4 mm. 3 Impact and perforation resistance (a) Impact resistance The glass fibre fabric may not show visible damages by a ten-time impact of a doorknob with a force of 20 kn. (b) Perforation resistance The force for perforation of the glass fibre fabic (max power) has to be greater than 200 N.

10 page 10 of 18 4 Abrasion and scrub resistance (using coatings) At least 4,000 scrub cycles on the coated glass fibre fabric has to leave the structure intact. 5 Resistance to disinfectants and cleaning agents (using coatings) The surface of the coated glass fibre fabric may not change after 24 hours of application time of the disinfectants.
