2 The search for a Magnetic Flow Meter that has no upstream or downstream straight run requirements has ended. The KROHNE Waterflux series 3070, 3100 and 3300 fulfills the need for close quarter installation with shortened or no straight runs. KROHNE s proven signal converters coupled with the revolutionary design of the Waterflux flow tube now gives a truly restriction free installation mag meter to the water industry. The Waterflux series meter comes in sizes from 1 to 12 inches, has very low pressure loss and an incredible measurement range of 27 FPS to below.5 FPS with better than +/.5% deviation even with a 90 degree elbow bolted directly onto the inlet and outlet of the of the meter. The following test results were acquired by testing a 4 inch Waterflux meter on two of KROHNE s three accredited Flow Calibration Rigs located in Peabody MA, KROHNE s North American Headquarters. Testing was performed to find average flow rate accuracy and for total flow accumulation accuracy, under normal and low flow conditions and abbreviated upstream and downstream straight runs including a control valve being bolted directly to the inlet of the meter. The Flow rate accuracy tests were accomplished by utilizing an averaged flow rate as compared to a master meter. The totalized flow accumulation test was done by comparison to a certified tank measurement also done at low flow conditions and with abbreviated upstream and downstream straight runs. Figure 3 The results are shown below, (figure 4) each flow rate was tested a minimum of three times and the average of the runs is shown. 5 It should be noted that the low end of the graph in figure 4 represents velocities of.2 FPS, this would not normally be considered in the measurement range of a Magnetic Flow Meter. Not only can the KROHNE Waterflux accurately measure velocities this low, It can also accurately measure velocities this low with no upstream or downstream straight runs. The next test set up measures the output of the Waterflux as compared to a calibrated tank. Again the tests were run with a 90 degree inlet connected directly to the meter a 90 degree outlet connected directly to the meter, and the output piping after the 90 degree elbow was flexible hose. 7 The graph (figure 7) shows the results of the Totalized Flow Accumulation Accuracy tests. Figure staight run 90 degree in and out Again it should be noted that the low end of the graph represents.5 FPS velocity not normally a velocity associated with normal the normal operating range of a Magnetic Flow Meter, again the KROHNE Waterflux shines at these low velocities even with very abbreviated upstream and downstrea am straight runs. When your installation calls for lesss than optimal up and downstream straight runs, the KROHNE Waterflux will accurately measure your water like no other meter.
