SANMARG carried out its CSR activities on its 7th Foundation Day on 7th August V O L U M E 1, I S S U E 2 Q U A R T E R L Y N E W S L E T T E R * J U L Y S E P T E M B E R Sleeve Welding Works on GAIL S Operational LPG Pipeline Welding in Progress Fitting of Sleeve on Pipeline Note from the Editors: We congratulate Mr. Ashish Ranjan, Mr. Saket Tripathi & Mr. OP Pandey on the successful completion of Sleeve Welding work which was done under the guidance of Mr. A Sengupta (VP Construction) and Mr. PK Naagori (Advisor Oil & Gas). BY Mr. Ashish Ranjan (Project In-charge) SANMARG Team has successfully completed Sleeve Welding works on GAIL s LPG pipeline at Abu Road. During Intelligent Pigging it was found that at several locations the carrier pipe thickness was reduced due to Internal corrosion and at few locations pipe thickness had reduced drastically. On the basis of this report, our Client requested SANMARG to carry out the physical verification job to verify the thickness of pipe using Ultrasonic meter. After the physical verification, it was decided that the full encirclement split sleeve over the affected area would have to be welded on to the 16 dia LPG pipeline. The concerned civic Authorities, Land Owners and Farmers were pre intimated about this maintenance job. It was also mandatory that the Welders passed the Welding qualification test as this pipeline was a high pressure pipeline; safety was paramount. This job was carried out in the rainy season, so constant tracking of weather was necessary to avoid any delays. For instance, on the day of longitudinal welding, only one side could be completed because of bad weather. The welding was completed within four days and subsequently Leak test was carried out by nitrogen purging. After the leak test, coating of the pipe was done and checked with Holiday detector. On completion of all these activities, the trench was back filled and was restored to its original state. While the Sleeve job was being carried out, all safety parameters were considered and adhered to. *For Internal Circulation Only. Not to be extended to Clients/ Patrons or any other external party.

Our detailed scope of work includes: Construction Supervision, Monitoring and Management Quality Control and Quality Assurance Material Management at Construction Warehouses (Pipe Malls) thru RGPL s SAP system Planning, Scheduling and Project Control Monitoring of resources of the construction contractors & expediting Review of construction procedures, methodologies submitted by contractors Health, Safety & Environment Management PIPEMALL MANAGEMENT

Internal Training on Leadership was conducted by Mr. Pummy Chicker (Sr VP, Business Development) for all Head-office Employees on 23rd August OIL AND GAS BUSINESS INFORMATION UPCOMING NEW PROJECTS Pipelines BPCL arm to build India s first cross country Pipeline: Numaligarh Refineries Limited, will shortly begin to work on laying of a 170 km Product P/L from Siliguri (West Bengal) to Parbatipur (Bangladesh). They are also planning to lay 1338 km, 6 MTPA P/L from Dhamra Port in Odhisa to Numaligarh to feed the expanded refinery with imported crude oil. (Business Standard, ) INR 10,000 CR Pipeline to take gas to Bihar, UP, Jharkhand, West Bengal: GAIL announced the construction of a 2050 km Natural Gas pipeline between Jagdishpur in UP & Haldia in West Bengal. They will establish a CGD network in Patna & Gaya during the first phase of Haldia Jagdishpur Energy Highway Gas P/L. (HT, ) INR 200 Cr Pipeline to Nepal: India will build 81 km P/L from Motihari in Bihar to Amlekhgunj in Nepal to supply petrol, diesel and ATF. (HT, ) India eyes $40 Billion Pipeline from Russia to import Gas: Indian Govt. is preparing a Blueprint for a $40 billion mega on land Gas P/L project. GAIL India with a consortium of ONGC, OIL and Indian Oil will be associated with this project. (HT, ) Oil Pipelines proposed along Rail Tracks: IOCL has submitted a proposal to the Indian Govt to be able to lay Crude, Product and Gas P/L along railway tracks to overcome the challenge of the delay caused to P/L laying companies. (Financial Express, ) HSE Major Fire at GAIL Pipeline in Andhra Pradesh : Fire broke out at the GAIL Tatipaka-Kondapalli P/L killing 22 people on June 27 th The Petroleum Ministry has blamed negligence as the cause for the devastating fire. The P/L had corroded due to condensate & water that came along with natural gas. GAIL has asked EIL to inspect its 870 km pipeline network. (Business Standard, 28th June 2014) BORL to double capacity at Vadinar COT to augment Expansion Plans: BORL are all set to expand by adding 8 additional storage tanks of 60,000 cu. meter capacity & other ancillary facilities. 5 PAGE 5 SANMARG 7th Foundation Day Celebrations CSR ACTIVITIES SANMARG Projects celebrated its 7th Foundation Day on 7th August On this occasion SANMARG adopted 10 Students from Rotary Institute for Special Children, Noida and 7 Students were individually adopted by some of our colleagues. A small function was organized at HO where we were privileged to have the presence of the Rotary Students. Our Jodhpur Team visited the Navjeevan Sansthan where abandoned babies are given a loving home. All meals were provided by the Team for a day and Mosquito Repellant spray s were also gifted as per the requirement of the Sansthan. Adipur Team celebrated with Underprivileged kids and treated them to Lunch and provided Stationary. Team Sardarsahar provided new Lunch boxes at School for Underprivileged Students and spent time with the Students. Deesa Team distributed fruits and spent time with the special kids of Vidyamandir Trust and our Team at Shahdol planted tree saplings on site.
