It is true that these developments have changed the market but the sales of coated papers have continued to increase. The Paper Industry is today facing the challenge of costs increases. Energy, petroleum-based chemicals and pigment prices have been increasing dramatically over the past four years as oil prices have risen. STABILYS A is a range of modified natural polymers, developed to meet the ever increasing demands of the paper industry for cost savings and increased productivity and satisfies very real concerns regarding the environment and general sustainability. The other products in the range have to be slurried in water and cooked. We recommend jet cooking at 13 C for one minute. The mechanical properties and printability should be at least as good as the reference paper. STABILYS A2 has been used in board blade pre-coating. 7 parts of STABILYS A2 replaced 6 parts of latex and a synthetic thickener was removed from the coating colour.
