2 An Overview of the 293 Hydraulic Service Manifold Series 293 Hydraulic Service Manifolds (HSMs) are hydraulic and flow regulation devices that control to a test station independent from the main hydraulic power unit (HPU). Installing the HSM into the hydraulic lines between the HPU and servovalve allows the operator to turn each hydraulic circuit on and off and set the low- level. Operation of the HSM can be controlled by MTS electronics. The 293 Advantage Independent The 293 HSM provides complete, indepen dent control of the hydraulic applied to individual stations or systems operating from a single hydraulic power supply. The 293 HSM allows convenient, efficient test setup, operation, and mainte nance of individual test systems without disturbing other systems. Smooth Transitions Smooth, controlled transitions between off, low, and high modes enhance safety and permit predictable system control. The 293 HSM minimizes the effects of the rapid application and removal of high, reducing unexpected actuator movement that could be damaging to the component or assembly being tested. Rapid Response Reduction Rapid dump hydraulic unloading helps protect the specimen, test system and personnel in the event of an abnormal condition by quickly removing hydraulic applied to the system. Additional Filtration Filtration in addition to that provided by the HPU helps ensure clean hydraulic fluid. A main protects components by preventing the passage of dirt particles that might enter the system as a result of opening hydraulic lines or adding hydraulic fixtures. Models equipped with pilot contain a 3 µm (absolute) pilot to enhance servovalve and system performance. Three available models provide flow rate choices of 189, 378 or 946 l/m (50, 100 or 250 gpm). Single-station control is standard on all 293 HSMs. Optional stations can be added to provide a maximum of four independent control stations for each 293.1X or 293.2X HSM in a system.
