4 Directional microphone replacement For optimal acoustical performance of a directional ITE hearing aid, the Phase Leading Microphone (microphone with the greater response phase 200Hz) must always be used as the Rear Microphone. The Phase Leading Microphone must be the rear microphone. If one Microphone is marked with a Black Permanent Marker on it s upper half, that is the Phase Leading Microphone. If neither of the microphones are marked with a Black Permanent Marker on it s upper half, the Phase Leading Microphone can be identified by an > symbol next to the production related number as shown. Attention The > symbol is always present on one of the microphones. Always check for the Black Mark on the other microphone as this will overrule the > symbol.
