1 PRODUCT INFORMATION Oticon Ria is built on the new Inium platform and is our best performing hearing solution in the essential category. The audiology in Ria provides its users essential listening performance in several situations and allows to factoring in listening preferences and needs of each client. The Ria family styles range from compact in-the-ear styles, including new Invisible-In-the-Canal (IIC) custom instruments for users looking for ultimate discretion, and ITE for severe hearing losses, to a broad palette of Behind-The-Ear styles. The RITE instruments use Oticon s minifit receivers and the BTE instruments use the new Corda minifit thin tubes, allowing to share the minifit soft domes and custom ear pieces. YouMatic Essential YouMatic is a personal automatic system programmed to the client s individual needs and sound preferences. YouMatic Essential makes it easy to adjust the instrument s reaction and response performance to better match clients preferences in terms of comfort, support and clarity in sound. Free Focus Essential Free Focus Essential switches seamlessly between two modes Optimised and Split directionality with the possibility to manually switch to Full directionality in very difficult listening situations. Optimsed omni is a new mode of directionality specifically developed to improve speech understanding by mimicking the natural front focus of the pinna to provide the desired access to the speech signal. Inium feedback shield Inium feedback shield is an effective feedback protection system implemented on the new Oticon Inium platform. Inium feedback shield is a hybrid system combining two anti-feedback principals to both prevent and suppress feedback without superimposing artefacts to the signal quality or sacrificing audibility. Based on the environment, the system deploys the best combination of real time phase inversion and frequency shift to deliver great sound quality at all times. 3 PRODUCT OVERVIEW GENERAL FITTING Oticon Ria instruments are programmed using the Genie 14.1 fitting software or higher compatible with NOAH 3 or higher. They can be programmed using either programming cables #3 or cordlessly using nearcom (TM#1). Cordless fitting - nearcom nearcom provides a cordless link between NOAHlink and one or two wireless enabled hearing instruments. In addition nearcom provides a pass-through connection to accommodate programming cables and replaces the existing NOAHlink neck loop (not availble with IIC and CIC instruments). FITTING TARGETS From Genie 14.1 we have changed the way we show the target for NAL-NL1, NAL-NL2 and DSL v5a Adult and DSL v5a Pediatric to be aligned with the target as provided by The National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) & Western University. This is to ensure better Real Ear Measurement (REM) transparency. The target calculation in Genie is no longer taking the acoustics and hardware characteristics of the hearing instrument into account. Therefore minor differences between the target curves and the simulated curves will appear. The new target depiction is closer to the target calculated by the prescription.
