Well I am having a fine summer so far. Went back East for my annual vacation to check in with all of the family in Boston and New Hampshire. Rode the big silver bird from LA to Washington DC. Had a great time in our nation s capital visiting the military sites. Spent two days at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall visiting with 58,307 of my friends and heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. It never gets easier standing in front of that wall, and walking the length and width saying hello to all of those guys and gals. US Vets share a special bound with our fallen comrades and we never want to forget the ones who did not make it back home. Decided to shake up the vacation humdrum, so I got the Amtrak train from DC to Boston. Lots of great scenery, and so many fun and interesting people to meet and talk to!!! From Boston, it was a short bus ride up to Manchester New Hampshire. Stayed with my sister and brother in law, and all of their kids and Gkids!!!! I got to see my Red Sox play the Angels out here in Anaheim. Sox made their yearly west coast road trip, and got beat in four games by the halos!!!!! (Yeah go ahead Lisa Claborne, rub it in!!!!!) And believe it or not, we actually had a rainout here in sunny California!!!!! First one in 20 years. Many Thanks to Helen and Anita for a wonderful Tbird picnic, which also almost turned into a rainout!!! I really enjoy our annual car get together, disguised as an outdoor Las Vegas buffet!!!! The ladies, and some of the guys cook and prepare the best delicacies from all of the favorite receipt archives, and it turns out to be a day of food and good conversation!!!! Not sure how I got on this mailing list, but I have been receiving some updates from the Legendary Motor Car Company in Canada... WOW, some beautiful vehicles for sale, but way too rich for my blood... Enjoy the rest of your summer, and I will see you on down the road!!!! Regards, JOHN

3 Page 3 TSC Annual Picnic Everyone finished eating and the rain began. It was a cozy time in the shelter, it s a good thing we have such a tight knit group! We did give out a few gift cards as awards this year. The recipients were: The day started out pretty nice and we got the picnic all set up and even got the cooking done before the rain came. It was a nice gathering with friends and as usual, great food. 1st Place: Leo and Maria Beaulieu for their light blue nd Place: Scott and Julie Curl for their Aqua Marine rd Place: John Peters for his bright yellow Mustang It was nice to see even on a rainy day a few brave soles brought out those beautiful cars!

6 60th Annv, show in Dearborn Page 6 Merle Morton, VP of the Michigan T-Birds Eighteen months of planning culminated on Thursday, June 25, 2015 when Celebrating 60 Years of Thunderbird took on a life of its own. Our plan was to make this event a FUN birthday celebration for our beloved Thunderbirds. We weren t trying to set attendance records, and were thrilled with 220 pre-registered guests from 29 states and 2 provinces. Early arrivals visited a fabulous auto and automotive memorabilia collection returning to the hotel for a Strolling Dinner featuring all-time Detroit favorites: Coney Island Hot Dogs, Better Made Potato Chips, Dearborn Ham, Faygo Pop and Vernor s Ginger Ale, followed by make-your-own sundaes with Sanders ice cream and fudge topping and all the trimmings. Friday morning motor coaches transported guests to the Ford Piquette Plant, birthplace of the Model T for a tour and lunch, then on to Grosse Pointe Shores for a tour of the Edsel & Eleanor Ford Estate. A pig roast with all the trimmings followed a Thunderbird caravan through Hines Park to the Nankin Mills Pavilion. We were joined by three special guests, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and Harvey Firestone, members of the Four Vagabonds. Through an interactive presentation they shared history with us. SHOW DAY, Saturday, June 27 th, dawned rainy and drear. Mother Nature failed to cooperate and the show was cancelled. Guests used the afternoon to visit the Ford Rough Plant where the F-150 is in production or The Henry Ford Museum. The big event was our 1950 s Doo-Wop Sock Hop that evening with entertainment provided by Streetcorner. Lots of poodle skirts and blue jeans in attendance. Lots of laughs and dancing the night away. We didn t get the local folks for the car show on Saturday, but Thursday and Friday the show was in the hotel parking lot as you can see in this photo, credits to Barbara Herbel-Hendricks from the Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Club.
