Our August club meeting at Dick & Sandy Noonan s house in South. Glens Falls, Co-hosted by Hank & Sue was very nice. The team put on quite a spread. A little rain didn t dampen the meeting. It was suggested and voted on the Nancy Sangster be given a life time membership. There still seems to be some confusion about the requirements for hosting a club meeting. There is only one rule and that is there are NO rules. Do whatever you want. As far snacks at the meetings, again, do whatever you want. I ask one thing of our club members, be courteous and respectful of our hosts. We are not going to solve world hunger by changing the way that we do things. Our 3 rd Annual Classic Car and Truck show held Sunday, August 20 th at the Lakeside Farms Cider Mill was very successful. We had about 60 classic cars attend. It appears that our Classic car theme is catching on. We had a very nice turnout from the Covair Club. Hopefully other classic car clubs will attend next year. We will discuss at our meeting on the 26 th, what to do about next year s show which would be about a month before the New England Meet which we are hosting at Lake George. At the August meeting it was suggested that we could sell the Youth Program 1931 Roadster at the Saratoga Auto Museum Car Auction for only $250. The $250 was a registration fee, the museum / auctioneer also gets 10% of the sale price of the car. Not a good deal for us. Youth Program 1931 Roadster; at our car show, Paul Dillon mentioned to Joe Farina that he was looking for a Model A, Joe told Paul about the Roadster. Paul came and looked at the Roadster, liked it and bought it without hearing it run. Backing up a bit, the day before the car show the gas tank started leaking. Joe Lazzaro painted the replacement tank, Tom Keehan, Paul and I changed out the tanks. Paul got to work on his new car even before he got it home. We have purchased Charlie McCabe s 1930 Roadster project car from Charlie s daughter. This will be our next Youth Program, starting in a few weeks. GE s Quarter Century Outing, Sept. 9 th ; turned out nice, we had 12 cars, the weather was nice and the picnic style food was also good, they had clams, hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork and salads. The Antique Truck show will be held Sept. 23 & 24 at the Saratoga Fair Grounds, in Ballston Spa. Our September Club meeting will be at Hank & Sandy Shatley s house, 1158 State Hwy. 161 Amsterdam. Bill Gates has canceled his October tour. Bill has a lot of Model A Parts for sale. Bill s phone # is Thought of the Day: No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats. Marv Page 1

2 Adirondack A s Model A Ford Club Aug 22, 2017 Meeting The August meeting was held in South Glens Falls as guests of Dick and Sandy Noonan. Secretary Report The July meeting minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Report Beth gave a Treasurer update. We received Ross S. memorial contributions and made money with the car show. After accounting for expenses, there was a small reduction in checking account funds and an increase in the money market account. Old Business Youth Program: There have been a couple of individuals interested in buying the roadster. The intent was to display it at the car show. However there apparently is now a leak in the gas tank and the car was not displayed. A replacement tank is available. Hank is assisting the Maine Pine Tree Chapter with starting their youth program. The Chestertown Fire Department donated helmets and jackets for the youth program. Haun Welding has also donated a new Lincoln MIG welder. Tours/Events: Four cars participated in the Hudson Historic tour. GE Quarter Century Outing will be on Sept 9 th. Participants can bring one guest. Contact Marv if you are going. Car Show Car show weather was perfect. Approximately 60 cars were at the show. Including water sales, raffles, etc. the show netted approximately $250. New Business 2017 New England Meet The club voted to donate a Quail radiator cap for the raffle New England Meet Mark H provided an update on the 2018 NEM. Those attending and want to stay at Roaring Brook should make reservations now. Those who volunteer, but do not register for the meet, cannot participate in raffles and meals. They can participate in the hospitality room. Mike V and Bill G are about 20 dash plaques short. Life Time Member Nancy Sangster was elected a Club Life Time Member. Donation The club provided vehicle assistance to Elsie Stefanik for her wedding. In appreciation, she made a donation to the Club. Birthdays of the Month; Thom Besch, Mike Caputo, Ann Marie Egnasher, Bob Hatt, John Wicker, Suzanne Post, Marv Livingston Bill Van Doren donated $33 back to the club. Guests and New Members: Lynn and Rog Kazyaka are new members. They are looking for a Model A Next Meeting The next meeting will be at Hank and Sandy Shatley in Amsterdam on September 26 th.
