2 From the President Matt Hunter Happy September! It s that time again!? Elections are this year for the Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted starting this month. Please provide nominations to me through or in print at the meetings. We will vote at the November meeting and you must be present to vote. Actual members can vote, associate members (i.e. family members) are not eligible. The new Board of Directors will begin in January of We will plan another cruise-in at Sonic on Furys Ferry Road and had great participation. I will need someone to head this up as I will be out of town. If interested, please let me know. We will put the word out and try to get even more cars to join us. There are a lot of events within the next couple of months, so please watch the calendar. Our Road Rally is 2 months from now! We will discuss what assistance is needed at our meeting and the details we know as of now for those desiring to participate. Hope to see you at the meeting!! -Matt PAGE 2

3 CSRA Mustang Club AUGUST 2017 From the Editor Todd Smith Happy September! 2017 is almost at the ¾ mark. Where has this year gone? As I am writing this, the Kansas City Grand National Show is going on. I was very fortunate to be in the area to see some beautiful cars and hang out with great friends. I even got to meet Gary Patterson and have a great conversation with him. I hope everyone is taking part in some of the local cruise ins that are in the area. I believe Matt coordinated the 3 rd Friday meet ups at the Sonic on Fury s Ferry road. Please go by and support the local businesses so we can have their support when it comes time for our national show. As the year is winding down, remember that our Board of Director s times are ending. We will be nominating and voting within the next few months. This will be a great time for others to step in and become more active in the running of the club. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Secretary/Editor and will do my part to help the incoming one transition easily. Keep the shiny side up and between the lines! 4 Why I Chose My Mustang Jarod Aldridge It all started with a love for Foxbody Mustangs and a dream. I have always loved Foxbody s and have grown up with one in the driveway my whole childhood. When I turned 15, I knew it was time to start searching for a car I would love to drive and work on as a project. I saw my car posted on craigslist multiple times before hand but never thought I would be able to pick it up. The price was a little high and I didn t think mom would approve. This was in September of The next month, we went to Foxtober fest in Kannapolis, North Carolina and my dad and I really got in the mood to buy another Foxbody. When we returned home, I saw my 1986 Mustang Convertible posted on craigslist for $1000, way cheaper than the original listing price. I immediately sent the owner a message saying I was interested and would like to come look at it. We agreed on a day to meet up to look at it and it seemed that this dream of mine to own a Foxbody was about to become a reality. Until, that day, I sent him a message asking if we were still good to meet that day. He told me he had sold the car earlier that morning. I was depressed about not being able to get the car but I knew something was to come from this event. So I searched craigslist and Facebook marketplace looking for another mustang (preferably a Foxbody) to pick up. About 2 weeks later, I see the same 1986 Mustang Convertible posted on craigslist again. I thought to myself, what were the odds that the same Foxbody was available for the same price. I immediately sent the owner a message to meet up. Later that week, we met up and i knew this car was meant to be mine. After a day or two of arranging how to get it home, it came home on October 25, I was officially an owner of a 1986 Mustang Convertible with a 3.8 litre V6 powerplant. I chose this car because it was a great car for me to start out on and a great project car for my dad and I to work on in our off time. I enjoy my Mustang love to tinker on it after school. I have many things planned for it like a 5.0 swap and multiple appearance upgrades. It may not be perfect but I love it and it will always be my first car love. PAGE 4

Now I can only stutter in Spanish. An insurance agent called our medical office. One of our doctors had filled out a medically necessary leave-of-absence form for a patient, but, the agent said, the patient had altered it. The giveaway? The return-to-work date had been changed to February 30. A defendant isn t happy with how things are going in court, so he gives the judge a hard time. Judge: Where do you work? Defendant: Here and there. Judge: What do you do for a living? Defendant: This and that. Judge: Take him away. Defendant: Wait; when will I get out? Judge: Sooner or later. PAGE 10
