2 Hambone s Bar & Grill Serves Up Southern Favorites at Second Bellflower Location There is a new BBQ restaurant in downtown Bellflower and it's sure to bring a smile to your taste buds. Hambone's 2 recently opened its doors with a grand celebration for hundreds of Bellflower citizens to enjoy some true Southern Hospitality. The owners of Hambone's have deep roots in Bellflower. The dynamic duo of Kenneth Hamilton and Keenan Handy have owned and operated a smaller Hambone's Restaurant on Alondra Blvd. in Bellflower for the past two years. For some time now, they wanted to grow their restaurant and catering business and were looking for the right location. When prime space became available in the downtown area, they decided to expand and open Hambone s 2. The new Hambone s houses over 1,750 square feet of space, seating for 100 people, has a new outdoor patio dining area, ADA accessible tables and restrooms, a beer and wine bar and some of the best BBQ food around. Other high quality businesses, along with the $7 million dollar Belmont Court mixed-use project are slated to open in downtown Bellflower before the end of the year. Hambone's is located at 9825 Belmont St. in Bellflower. For more information call (562) or visit Above: Hambone s owners Kenneth Hamilton and Keenan Handy pose with Miss Bellflower Court at the restaurant s Grand Opening ceremony. 3 May Honors Members of Law Enforcement In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later, the event, more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to our Nation's Capital each year. The National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The attendees come from PRAYER cont from pg 1 Prayer for Neighbors in Need Pastor Andrew Nishimoto Bethany Christian Reformed Church Prayer of Praise Pastor Jose Luis Soto World Mission Maranatha Prayer for our Churches Pastor Mosheh Chanan By the Book Church Prayer for Revival Pastor Bruce Wade 1st Southern Baptist Church of Bellflower Benediction - Closing Remarks departments throughout the United States as well as from agencies throughout the world. This provides a unique opportunity to meet others that share a common brotherhood. These events are open to all law enforcement personnel and are an experience unlike any other. In honor of Police Week, the City of Bellflower would like to honor and acknowledge the outstanding work of local law enforcement and all of the members of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department that protect and serve the entire Bellflower community each and every day. The City congratulates all law enforcement officials for an outstanding job.
