1 RC4WD Timberwolf Build Document This build document is for informational purposes. Since the Timberwolf can come in so many different combinations, this will not fit everyone. If you find that you still have questions. Please feel free to use the RC4WD forum. In this build up I will be using the T-Rex 60 Plastic axles, and the Dual Spring scale shocks 110mm. I used my own custom link, but this should not vary from your kit. I am using the standard R2 transmission. Along with the T-rex axles I used the standard upper 4 link mounts, and the servo mount that comes with it. I will be also using the RC4WD punisher shaft. The first thing you will want to do is an inventory of all the items you have. Make sure that you have all the items you need to do you build. After this.get started. I use Blue threadlocker anytime I have metal to metal items. This is a preference of mine, it may save you some hassle when you start to run your truck. Just be careful and use sparingly. Here shows the items we are going to use in the first few steps. You will need the axles, 4 link mounts, uppers and lowers, and the front servo mount. Make sure to may close attention to the lower 4 link mounts and the way they install onto the axle.

2 Here shows it mounted to the axle. Next we will install the upper 4 link mounts. Here is the upper link mount.

3 I found it easier to mount this off the axle with the upper 4 link mounts. You may be able to do it on the axle. Here shows how it looks mounted off the axle.

6 In some cases when installing the links you may want to use a spacer to offset the link a small bit. This will help prevent binding. In this photo shows a close up of what I am talking about. After all 4 front and rear links are mounted you should have something like this.

Take a moment and make sure you have good movement of the links front and rear. If not, do some investigating of the links and see if there is any binding.

If so, access the situation and try to solve the problem with spacers. If you still have issues and can t figure out the issue try the RC4WD forum. Let s mount the R2 Tranny. There are a series of 6 holes in the bottom of the delrin plate. You can mount the tranny to the front, or farther back. You make the choice and install. Make the screws you use are not to long. They could catch a gear inside the tranny. Installation of the motor is a good idea at this point. Once the tranny is mounted it may be harder to install the motor.

8 Next will be installation of the Punisher shafts. These are pretty simple. Install the front and rear both. Should look like this!

9 I installed the front servo next. This is an adjustable servo mount. So you can set it up several different ways.

10 You can now install the servo links and servo arm. Again this is something that varies by kit. Remember you can move the servo mount around depending on the size of your links.

Different sizes will need mounted in different positions.

11 The Shocks can be installed next. This shows the position I mounted the 110mm shocks I have. Different sizes will need mounted in different positions. I used two small spacers on the bottom and one at the top. The one at the top prevented binding and the one s at the bottom helped to space the shock out a little. This helps with the shock geometry. 12 Top With the truck set-up, you can install and mount the electronics. Since there are various sizes of electronics there may be different places you may want to mount them. I would recommend either on the front plate, or on the inside of the skid plates.

For the dash I used some styrene and molded it around the front bar.

13 You can always keep the build going and add some scale details. Here shows a few closeup shots of mine. For the dash I used some styrene and molded it around the front bar. After I had the fit right I painted it and added the dash details. Then I used two cable ties to secure it in place. It fits real snug around the bar to help hold it into place as well.

14 I again used styrene again for the rear deck. This time I used flat plate to make the form and then layered it with Diamond plate styrene. After I was finished I painted it and added the scale details.

Some additional tweaking may be needed. Here are a couple shot.

15 For body mounting. Go here. Body Mounting Instructions. Install the wheels and your ready to run. Some additional tweaking may be needed. Here are a couple shot. Hopefully yours will be less worn. I ran mine a little and then added these great axles and shocks.
