Testing the Appliance Plug in the cleaner If the unit is equipped with remote control, connect the hose to the dust bag cover Switch on the cleaner o With remote control: push MIN button to start the cleaner push MAX button (for more than 1 sec) push the OFF button to switch off the cleaner (for more than 1 sec) o With ON/OFF button and MIN button: push the ON/OFF button to start the cleaner (it works in MAX position) push MIN button to check that the MIN position works push the MIN button to switch off MIN function switch off the cleaner by using the ON/OFF button o With ON/OFF button: switch on and off the cleaner by using the ON/OFF button Testing the Filter Cleaning Function Open the filter cover and remove the filter casette Insert a special filter (covered with thin PE plastic film normally used in households) and start the cleaner
The filter indicator LED is blinking. Stop the cleaner. (The LED remains ON.) Remove the special filter and put back the filter casette Turn the filter as shown on the image. The cleaner will start and the LED is lighting during the filter cleaning. When the filter cleaning is ready, the LED goes out and the cleaner stops.
Service Instructions for Electronics 1. Display LED's (LED for M0) flashes with the interval 0.5 seconds on, 2 seconds off. This state is an error code showing that something gone wrong with the motor steering. Possible reasons and solutions: The TRIAC on the processor-board is overheated. Check that the cooling tube to the cooling house is properly connected, and works. Check that the tube connectors on the PCB are opened. Connector between motor and PCB lost contact. Motor connectors lost contact. Motor clixon circuit is open due to overheated motor. Check resistance with a multimeter. If needed change motor/clixon. TRIAC on processor-board is broken - change the PCB. 2. The motor doesn t start. No error signal indicating on the LED's (M0- M2). Possible reasons and solutions: Unplug the satellite board connectors from the processorboard. If the motor starts to oscillate continue to instruction 4. Check start-button function, make sure it presses the switch, if so then change the display-board. Check cable connection to the switchboard. If ok then change the switchboard. Change processor-board. 3. The motor doesn t start. No error signal indicating on the LED's (M3). Possible reasons and solutions: Unplug the satellite board connectors from the processorboard. If the motor starts to oscillate continue to instruction 4. Check 5V supply from the machine to the sumo-system, if supply voltage exist try with another sumo-system, else check sumo system for possible shortcuts (cables, connections and so on) then change the power supply (a shortcut in the wires will damage the new board). Check communication cable between power supply and switchboard, change the cable if damaged. Try if it works with a new power supply. Check the switchboard, change it. Change processor-board.
4. Motor doesn t start, not even in test mode (continuing from point 2 or 3). Possible reasons and solutions: Check the main supply (cordwinder, power cable). Check motor connection (motorwire, connections). Change processorboard. Change motor. 5. EC-LED never indicates time to clean, due to clogged filters. Possible reasons and solutions: Check that the air tubes to the pressure switch on the switchboard is properly connected and works. Switch is broken, change switchboard. LED is broken, change displayboard. The switch works, processor doesn t sense the switching change processor board. 6. EC-LED always indicate (flashing) clogged filters, even when they are clean. Possible reasons and solutions: Check that the air tubes to the pressure switch on the switchboard is properly connected and works. Switch is broken, change switchboard. The switch works, processor doesn t sense the switching properly change processor board. 7. EC-LED always light continuously as soon as the cleaner is plugged in to the main net. Possible reasons and solutions: Display board is broken (shortcut). Change the PCB. Switchboard is broken (shortcut). Change the PCB. Processor board is broken. Change the PCB. 8. It s not possible to start the easy clean function. Possible reasons and solutions: Check that the plastic arm works and pressing and releasing the switch when turning the filter. Check switch and switch-wires. If non-function or broken, change the switchboard. Switchboard is broken. Change the PCB. Processor board is broken. Change the PCB.
9. It s not possible to change to min power (M2). Possible reasons and solutions: Check Min/Max-button function, make sure it presses the switch, if so then change the display-board. Check switch and switch-wires. If non-function or broken, change the switchboard. Switchboard is broken. Change the PCB. Processor board is broken. Change the PCB. 10. It s not possible to change to min power (M3). Possible reasons and solutions: Does the cleaner indicates error, in such case continue to instruction 1. Try with another sumo-system (bent end). Try if it works with a new power supply. Check communication cable between power supply and switchboard, change the cable if damaged. Check the switchboard, change it. Change processor-board. 11. It s not possible to shut off the cleaner (M0-M2). Possible reasons and solutions: Does the cleaner indicates error, in such case continue to instruction 1. Continue to instruction 2 part It s not possible to shut off the cleaner (M3). Possible reasons and solutions: Does the cleaner indicates error, in such case continue to instruction 1. Continue to instruction 10 part Blue power LED indicator doesn t light. Possible reasons and solutions: Display board is broken. Change the PCB. Switchboard is broken. Change the PCB. Processor board is broken. Change the PCB. 14. Blue power LED always light. Possible reasons and solutions: Display board is broken. Change the PCB. Switchboard is broken. Change the PCB. Processor board is broken. Change the PCB.
Instructions for Sumo System, M3 1. Check that the power supply receives main supply voltage. If not check cordwinder and cable assembly. 2. Check the fuse on the power supply. It is not possible to change the fuse, if broken the power supply board has to be changed. 3. Check the 5 voltage level from the board to the remote control. If any other voltage then 5V check first of all the sumo tube system, before changing the power supply. (observe that if a button is pressed at during the measurement this will lower the 5 voltage level output). A shortcut in the sumo tube system might damage the power supply. By just changing the supply without checking the tube system of possible failures might just lead to another broken power supply. 4. If the motor brush doesn t work, check the 40V output voltage. If fault always check the tube system for possible damages or faults before changing the power supply. After a finding and repairing a failure in the tube system try the complete system again, since a shortcut in the sumo-system might have damaged the power supply board, and this might also have to be changed. If no faults can be found in the sumo-system and the cleaner still doesn t work then check the communication cable and its connectors, the switch board and its connections to the processor board and the processor board.
