There is no major change in content. 1 Applicability All new Level Crossing Warning Lamp Cross Arms supplied after 1 st May Information We have updated the design and manufacture of Level Crossing Warning Light Cross Arms. We have retained the same, flexible, and easy to install design, and improved it with remanufactured tooling, greater flexibility, a rationalised product range and simpler packaging for shipping. 2.1 Common Features Same flexible, reliable design All items powder coated black for improved protection and aesthetics Supplied with mounting hardware to suit both 114 mm and 140 mm masts Two groups of 3 pairs of M6 stud terminals in easily accessible terminal block for terminating lamps Components packed as a complete, easily manageable, unassembled kit packed in small boxes 2.2 Kits Available All components are supplied as one of four variants of kit for assembly on site. This is easier to manage and negates the need to disassemble to install wiring. All components, to suit both mast sizes, are kitted into a single, robust, cardboard container shown on the next page. These are not included in the kits and the 200 and 300 mm units need to be ordered separately (refer data sheet 9A-3) Cross Arm for Dual Lamps This is the basic arrangement for a pair of flashing lamps. Typically, this arrangement is used for an auxiliary set of lights for an off axis approach. Page 2 of 6

3 2.2.2 Cross Arm for Dual Lamps with Barrier Cross Arm for back-to-back Dual Lamps This arrangement provides the front and back combination of lights that is widely used on flashing light only crossings. All lights can be independently aligned. Page 3 of 6

4 2.2.4 Cross Arm for back-to-back Dual Lamps with Barrier This arrangement provides the front and back combination of lights that is widely used on crossings with barrier. The extension pieces ensure that the lamps are away from the barrier mechanism and barrier. 2.3 Common Details Adjustment Knuckle These cross arm kits give full adjustment flexibility. Each piece can rotate around its shaft and is locked with a set screw that is held in a groove in the casting. Lamps are fitted to a spherical adjustment knuckle that can be both rotated and tilted to align the lamps in horizontal and vertical planes. Page 4 of 6

5 2.3.2 Junction Box Each cross arm includes an integrated junction box, complete with six double M6 studs, links, washer and nuts for connecting the lamps to the cables returning to the level crossing flasher. 2.4 Pricing & Delivery We have reduced the price you pay compared to the existing components for all but one combination. 6 4 What do I need to do? Identify the new part number from the attached data sheet and use them for purchasing. Our sales staff can assist with any queries. You may want to advise your field staff of the new knocked down kits. We don t expect that these changes will affect product type approval as the changes are primarily an update to the tooling and rationalisation of the part numbers.
