NOTE: This version is not available for MEGA Assemblies. - Empty units with front-panel cut-outs: designed to house industrial A and A IEC09 or EUREKA Series socket outlets, 0 A and A domestic European type socket outlets (to CEI, VDE, UTE and BS) and A and A OMNIA interlocked-switch socket outlets (only for DOMINO units) NOTE: This version is available only in DOMINO and BLOCK Series. COMPLIANCE WITH All SCAME s empty units are constructed to meet IEC 070 requirements. The comply with EN 09- (IEC 09-) and EN 09- (IEC 09-) standards. ACCESSORIES SCAME supply a kit containing several standard installation accessories together with every empty unit. Other optional accessories are available on request. PRE-ASSEMBLIES Pre- are ready-made distribution, fully pre-wired and equipped with industrial and/or domestic, protective (modular or moulded-case MCBs and RCDs) and accessories. SCAME also offer a partly wired version (up to the EN500 rail), equipped with industrial and/or domestic, but without protective. The choice, purchase and installation of these articles is left to the customer. Pre- constructed and wired in-house by SCAME undergo strict quality control to pass all tests required by the standards. This assures the safety, reliability and long life of the equipment, provided the user operates correct installation, practices in accordance with the relevant wiring regulations. The following pages describe many of the standard produced by SCAME, which differ from each other by version, socket combination, protective and protection degree. Together they will meet most of the installation requirements that arise in terminal power distribution. CUSTOMISED ASSEMBLIES Consistent with their strongly customer-oriented marketing policy, SCAME also offer distribution housing combinations of and protection made up to specific customer requirements. SCAME are in a position to design, implement and supply to order, accurately finished distribution at short notice. For any inquiries in connection with customised distribution, please contact your SCAME Dealer. DOUBLE INSULATION All SCAME s thermoplastic units are provided with total insulation. This ensures safety in use since it prevents live parts from coming in contact with the PRACTICAL ADVICE outside of the enclosure in the event of a malfunction. Read and follow the instructions carefully. All regulations in force governing electrical installations must be observed: Check the regularly and replace them as soon as they show evident signs of wear and tear. Always employ qualified technical staff. If the product has been subject to impact or knocks, it should be checked at once even if it has suffered no evident damage. Never enclose the assembly in such a way as to hinder inspection and/or maintenance. Always employ qualified technical staff for any work on the switchgear. 3 ASSEMBLIES COMPLIANCE WITH DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLIES must comply with the standards listed below: European standard EN 09- to be used in industrial, agricultural, service industry etc., applications in regular and heavy duty conditions. This standard requires: - that mass-produced distribution (TTA) are subject to type testing, and - that non-mass produced distribution (PTTA) are partly subject to type testing. All SCAME distribution (pre-wired unit fully equipped with, protective, etc.) comply with EN 09-. Since they are mass-produced (TTA), they are subject to type testing, an additional assurance for the user. STANDARD EN 09- (IEC 09-) for use on construction sites. In conformity with the requirements of international regulations, distribution used on construction sites must comply with standard EN 09- Particular requirements for for construction sites (ACS), which supplement, amend and supersede some articles of standard IEC 9-. Therefore all for construction sites (ACS) must take into account both the general standard EN 09- and the specific standard for construction sites EN 09-. In particular, standard EN 09- requires that: - the maximum rated voltage does not exceed 000 V (a.c.) and 500 V d.c.; - all ACS distribution bear one or more permanently inscribed data plates which are clearly visible after installation; - the data plates carry the following information: manufacturer s name or trade-mark designation of the type and identification number which allow the user to apply to the manufacturer to obtain additional technical information; reference to standard EN 09-; rated current, type of current and, if a.c, frequency. DOCUMENTATION FOR ACS The manufacturer must specify in their documentation all conditions of installation, operation and maintenance of the and of the equipment housed in them. If the wiring diagram is not evident, suitable additional information must be supplied, eg. circuit diagrams or tables of connections. The manufacturer must also issue a conformity declaration certifying that the product has been produced in compliance with the standards. FLEXIBLE USE An outstanding feature of SCAME s range of distribution is their highly flexible use due to: - the considerable number of different possible combinations of industrial and/or domestic socket outlets which can be mounted in the ; - the numerous possibilities of stationary and mobile installation: surface mounting, flush mounting, turret mounting, self-supporting, portable and on a wheeled cable-reel stand.. 4 ASSEMBLIES DEFINITIONS DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY A combination of one or more low-voltage protective and operating with any possible measuring, indicating, protective and/or regulatory, entirely installed under the manufacturer s responsibility, with all internal wiring and mechanical connections, including the structural supporting parts. - TTA: Type tested An assembly conforming to a given type or construction system or in any case without modifications from it such as to affect its performance to a decisive extent compared to the type tested assembly as prescribed by the Standard. EN 09- IEC 09- TTA Mass-produced Portable (or semi-stationary) ACS An assembly designed to be used in a place where it is not permanently installed; its location may be moved from one area to another on a construction site. Whenever an assembly has to be moved, it must first be disconnected. UNITS Each ACS may include the following units: - Inlet unit The unit through which power is supplied (from the outside) to the assembly. - Outlet unit The unit through which power is supplied to one or more external circuits. - Transformer unit This unit may be either LV/FELV or LV/SELV. - Measuring unit A unit housing appliances for measuring the electric power. INLET UNIT. - PTTA: Partially type tested Assemblies containing both configurations tested by type tests and configurations not tested by type tests, provided that the latter are derived (eg. by calculation) from configurations which passed the prescribed tests. 9 MASTERBOX Series MASTERBOX SERIES DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLIES Made of self-extinguishing impact-resistant thermoplastic material, MASTERBOX series distribution are developed for power distribution on construction sites with power needs of up to 55 kw VERSIONS They come in two sizes (WxHxD): MASTERBOX 70 x 580 x 50mm MASTERBOX 5 70 x 580 x 50mm Installation: - surface mounting - elevated with a metal portable stand Capacity: MASTERBOX : ADVANCE Series, or A interlocked-switch socket outlets, or QUADRA Series, A interlockedswitch or any combination of the above. MASTERBOX 5: 5 ADVANCE Series, or A interlocked-switch socket outlets, or 0 QUADRA Series, A interlockedswitch or any combination of the above. The extensive range of combinations of the above socket outlets make MASTERBOX distribution exceptionally versatile. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS The enclosures of the MASTERBOX Series are designed for outdoor installation. They are made of RAL 705 grey engineering plastic incorporating high mechanical rigidity and impact strength as well as outstanding dimensional stability even at high temperatures. Operating characteristics - service temperature: from -0 C to +70 C - excellent weather resistance - high UV resistance Self-extinguishing properties: In conformity with IEC (glow-wire test): 50 C. High resistance to: Mineral oils and greases, naphtha, alcohol, aqueous solutions of inorganic salts, weak inorganic acids, alkaline solutions. General resistance to: Halogenated hydrocarbons, strong oxidising agents, petrol and benzene, especially at high temperatures. Protection degree: IP. Total insulation e Conformity to standards: EN 09- and EN 09-. APPLICATIONS MASTERBOX distribution are suitable for specific use on medium-sized construction sites, in heavy industry, agriculture, and wherever high impact strength and resistance to weathering and chemicals are required. TESTING The MASTERBOX Series distribution have been tested according to the standards EN 09- i. MASTERBOX 5 Series The MASTERBOX Series includes two plastic enclosures for 5-module and -module distribution for construction sites. The MASTERBOX Series has been designed to meet the requirements of the European standard EN 09-, which corresponds to the International standard IEC 9-. The MASTERBOX Series therefore falls into the class of mass-produced and assembled equipment for use on construction sites. MASTERBOX distribution are classed as final distribution ACS to which power tools and other construction site equipment can be connected. 80 8

10 MASTERBOX Series STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS Consumer units: Protection (MCBs and RCDs) are housed in separate boxes. The MASTERBOX enclosure is fitted with one consumer unit for DIN modules and MASTERBOX 5 is fitted with two consumer units for DIN modules in total. Extra low voltage: A ADVANCE Series interlocked-switch with 50 VA or 00 VA isolating transformers having 0/V ratio can be installed for the supply of safety extra low voltage (SELV). Power cut-out: General power cut-out provided by automatic circuit breaker or isolator. Power supply: The cabinet may be fitted externally with a, or 5 A appliance inlet to connect the power supply cables. Through this inlet the cabinet can be connected quickly and safely to the electric power supply. Loop in/loop out facility On demand, MASTERBOX Series cabinets come with a kit for in - out connection, for the purpose of supplying numbers of distribution connected in parallel on a single electric supply. COMPONENTS - Cable entry Cable glands type PG are provided at the cable inlet as a standard. for PG 9 and PG are included in the accessories supplied with the cabinet. - Power supply appliance inlet The cabinet may be fitted with a, or 5 A appliance inlet to avoid continuous and repetitive cabling for quick jobs on the construction site. - Terminal block 5mm (5mm 00A) The main terminal block is housed in a separate compartment, accessible only by using a tool. Wiring up is simple, but requires a skilled person. - Cable clamp A cable clamp is provided at the power cable inlet to prevent mechanical stresses from damaging the integrity of the electric connection to the terminals of the cabinet. 5 - Earthing An external terminal for the earthing lead is provided for easier wiring and regular testing of the condition of the connection. - Installation Two mounting brackets are provided at the rear of the cabinet for hanging from a wall or stand mounting. The mounting brackets are included in the accessories supplied. 7 - Portability 0 - Boxes for protection Hand grips are provided in the side panels of the cabinet for easier carrying. The assembly must first be disconnected from the power supply. WARNING: It is extremely dangerous to move it when live. 8 - Rating - Door All data regarding SCAME s MASTERBOX are inscribed on plates mounted inside the doors. 9 - Documentation Every MASTERBOX cabinet contains a folder with a declaration of compliance with standards and a wiring diagram. It is good practice to keep a copy of the declaration of compliance of the electrical system as certified by a qualified installer and a copy of any drawings and layouts in the same folder. The boxes have DIN rails for installing protection, a transparent, anti-glare, tinted window and locks with a triangular key. IP is assured when the cover is locked. The door also locks with a triangular key, to prevent unauthorised access. The cabinet can be closed even after plugging in, since the bottom is an open frame which lets the cables through. MASTERBOX is fitted with one door and MASTERBOX 5 with two MASTERBOX can be supplied through a cable connected to the terminal block or by plugging the connector into the appliance inlet, depending on the type of cabinet. The cable must be of a suitable size. No internal wiring is required if the cabinet is fitted with an appliance inlet. 8 8

When the window is locked, the protection degree is IP or IP, depending on the version.
