5 1. Technology megla dynamic glass is laminated glass consisting of two glass panels, with a liquid crystal (LC) film embedded between two sub layers. OFF Without applied voltage, the liquid crystals are disordered and refract the incoming light. The glass turns opaque. ON With applied voltage the liquid crystals line up and do not refract the light. The glass turns transparent. Example: 5/32" megla dynamic film 1/8" clear wrap around edge does not contain LC Film megla dynamic glass is a laminated glass consisting of at least two panels of white glass. The liquid crystal film (approx. 1/64 ) is laminated between two films(pvb/eva) each approx. 1/32. Please note: The megla dynamic glass is laminated glass - not laminated safety glass. Approx. 1/8 clear wrap around edge does not contain LC Film. 1/8" 1/8" each 1/16" PVB - clear / EVA

6 2. Application Fixed glazing Partition walls Facades Partitions are individually switchable (Shutter effect) megla dynamic glass can be notched and cut for fitting purposes. This enables frameless glass applications such as: Folding door systems (Faltus) Sliding door systems (Linea) Fully-glass doors (Chalet AT) Further processing to a variety of functional insulating glass is feasible. Please contact us. Please note: megla dynamic glass composite needs to be mounted from inside the room. 3. The haze may be perceived differently dependent on the angle of view as well as the light incidence and background lighting. It can have a diverse impact on the total surface. Due to the production, the megla dynamic glass is fabricated with a LC-backcut of approx. 1/8 (clear edge). Depending on application a visible silkscreened band is applied to cover the wiring (approx. 5/8-1 3/16 wide). Standard color is white, similar to RAL 9010! Lamination as well as glass supply is exclusively delivered by KL megla Made in Germany in cooperation with our partners. 6. Tempered Glass Breakage The tempered glass panels may suffer a breakage through nickel sulfide inclusion due to material or fabrication. We therefore recommend the usage of single panel tempered glass. The additional heat-soaking process significantly reduces the residual risk (see DIN EN para.3.2) of such breakage. This heat-soak test is only provided upon the special and specific request of the customer. However, a complete protection from nickel sulfide breakage cannot be achieved. In general, glass breakage is not a reason for complaint within the scope of our warranty. According to the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) PartB, page 12, para.6, the person who had the glass in custody at the time of glass breakage always bears the breakage risk - also breakage through nickel sulfide. New delivery takes exclusively place upon pre-payment! Products from one panel security glass may, break spontaneously into single or loose fragments. 4. Glazing Information Global glazing guidelines should be strictly met. megla dynamic glass may be explicitly sealed with GE Bayer Multisil. Complete seals may not be applied to insulating glass. (OR: Application of complete seals to insulating glass is not recommended.) 5. General Information Please consider that the transparency of a switchable glass is not comparable to that of a clear glass. Usually the switchable glass has a slight haze. This is a product attribute and does not refer to a deficiency. 7. Electrical Installation According to the VDE regulation code of safety standards, the installation needs to be carried out by a licensed professional. In order to ensure the switching function, the glass needs to be powered off manually, regulated by an automatic timer, for a sum of 4 hours per day. This device is part of the warranty and is an option available on request. 8. 10 9. Wiring Options Contact KL megla for all other layout request. Due to warranty claims, the connection blocks should always be placed on the top of the panel. 10. Suitable Glass Shapes

11 11. Tolerances And Warranty Two years warranty is issued on glass, electrical components, fittings as well as the function of the liquid crystal film. Condition is the installation according to the manual and installation instructions. Moreover, the valid version of the general terms and conditions of KL megla GmbH does apply. Obvious deficiencies are to be immediately submitted to the supplier within 72 hours (Visual and functional control). Complaints at a later date cannot be accepted. The laminated glass may have an offset edge of 1/8 due to production. The bending may be up to +/- 1/8 per running meter. 12. Delivery Our general terms and conditions shall apply to our delivery. Transportation insurance is not included, but can be concluded on request. The expenses for the transportation insurance are 3% of the invoice value of goods. 13. Storage Information Any inadequate storage leads to loss of warranty claim. Must be stored in dry and protected upright position. 14.
