This can also result in less serious injuries or damage to the equipment. 1.2 GENERAL INFORMATION: NOTE The following advice is given to ensure optimum use of the equipment. 5 MAINTENANCE NOTICE FOR DPX1EBC MANUAL VALVES (right-hand or left-hand opening, with detection, simple or micrometric adjustment) or DPAX1 AUTOMATIC, Compact interflange valves. INTRODUCTION CAUTION IMPORTANT: Before carrying out any maintenance work, check with the supervisor that the installation is stopped and drained (pipes empty and depressurised, pumps stopped, tanks shut off or empty). The disassembly process for manual or automatic butterfly valves is divided into three distinct steps DISASSEMBLING THE VALVE Before starting the disassembly procedure, if the valve is fitted with a signalling box it may be necessary to detach the signalling unit from the actuator. 1.3 DISMANTLING THE SIGNALLING BOX: CAUTION! CAUTION! Dismantling without disconnection IMPORTANT: Before starting any work on the box, it is important to ensure that the air supply is closed and that the circuit is purged. Dismantling with disconnection IMPORTANT: Before starting any work on the box, it is important to ensure that the mains supply is switched off, that the air supply is closed and that the circuit is purged. 6 1.4 SEPARATION OF MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC SYSTEM FROM THE VALVE: SEPARATING THE MANUAL SYSTEM: In all cases, remove the upper screw [12] [18] [41] and take off the manual system. For the micrometrically adjustable valve, take care not to lose the spacer [38]. DPX1-EBC (right-hand or left-hand) DPX1-EBC (with detection) DPX1-EBC (trigger grip) DPX1-EBC (micrometric adjustment) SEPARATING THE AUTOMATIC SYSTEM: Unscrew the four valve half-body [9] fastening screws [43]. Disconnect the actuator [46] from the valve, and remove the position pointer [45]. Mark the valve position [8]. (Normally closed or normally open valve). 7 DISASSEMBLING THE EBC BUTTERFLY VALVE Remove the valve nuts [11] and fastening screws [1], separate the mounting flanges [2] and the welded ends [3]. Remove the valve O ring seals [10], the screws [4] then the two ½ bodies [9] take off Take off the wearing rings [6] and remove the butterfly disc [8] from the seal [7]. DISMANTLING THE OPERATING SYSTEM 1.5 DISMANTLING THE MANUAL SYSTEM: DPX1 EBC, with detection, trigger adjustment: Remove the handle assembly [16] and [14] from the hub [13] and recover the spring [15]. Remove the handle assembly [16] and [14] from the hub [13] and recover the spring [14] extract the sensor assembly [26] [27] [28], remove the screw [31] and take out the cam assembly [29]. 8 Remove the trigger grip assembly [19] from the hub [23] (right or left) DPX1 micrometric adjustment: Remove screw [41] then slightly unscrew the control handle assembly [32] [33] and remove the drive wheel [40], unscrew the lock screw [35] pull the operating handle [32] [33] from the body [36]. 1.6 DISMANTLING THE AUTOMATIC SYSTEM: Before starting the disassembly procedure, if the valve is fitted with a signalling box it may be necessary to detach the signalling unit from the actuator. 9 CHANGING SEALS AND REASSEMBLY 1.7 INTRODUCTION: Our valve components are listed and referenced in the "Parts catalogue" section of our folder and our CD-ROM, together with the information necessary for ordering your spare parts. 1.8 REASSEMBLING THE MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC OPERATING SYSTEM: This procedure is performed in the reverse order to dismantling. However, it is necessary to take into account the following comments for the automatic system: Before reassembling the parts, ensure that the assembly is lubricated with an appropriate lubricant (water-resistant and temperature-resistant food grade grease). Example for information: PURE TAC LUBRIPLATE by TOTAL FINA) NOTE! NOTE: For removing and refitting the actuator, refer to its maintenance notice. Operate the actuator with air before continuing reassembly. IT-TDFX-222 Revision 0 Page 9/16 October 2008

10 1.9 REASSEMBLING THE BUTTERFLY VALVE: This operation is carried out in the reverse order to disassembly. The following guidelines should, however, be followed: Apply a suitable grease to the guides of the butterfly disc [8], the ½ bodies [9] and the seal [7]. Keep the butterfly disc [7] in a closed position while tightening the ½ bodies in order to properly centre the seal [7] ASSEMBLING THE VALVE AND THE OPERATING SYSTEM: This operation is also carried out in the reverse order to disassembly. The following guidelines should be followed for the automatic system: Do not forget to fit the position pointer [45] and in particular to check the N.C or N.O valve operating position (position of drive squares). Before making the final network connections, check that the valve is operating normally. If you encounter problems when carrying out the operations described below, do not hesitate to contact us.
