2 1913 Jahns Regulatoren was registered in the Offenbach register of companies in 1905 as a factory specialising in the manufacture of different kinds of engine controls. Wilhelm Jahns and Carl Seidel founded the company together with several other dormant partners. Jahns was an engineer, Seidel a businessman. Jahns patents were used to produce the fi rst in the series of controllers. Since 1928 Jahns Regulatoren has been a family business with limited liability owned by the Dapp/Sauerwein family. This change of ownership coincided with the company beginning the manufacture of axial piston pumps for presses and rudder engines, as well as controllers for water turbines. From 1970 the company began production of slow running radial piston hydromotors. These were used to drive heavy machinery, forge manipulators and rubber injection moulding machines as well as in plant construction. This period also saw production switched to NC (numerically controlled) machines as the cost of labour continued to increase. Today the company uses CNC (computer numerically controlled) machines to manufacture products in small batches. No product leaves the factory before fi rst being checked in our test facilities by our experienced team of long-serving employees saw the company enter the market for hydraulics and drivesystems. It did this by fi rst sourcing products for distribution and working in close cooperation with customers to develop new products. As an example we can mention our current range of fl ow-dividers and volumetric-dividers which covers almost every possible application. Among our customers are almost all reputable German fi rms active in the hydraulics market. In 1992, takeover of the production and sales of ATE vane motors (Alfred Teves / Frankfurt). May 2000: purchase of the range of rotary pumps, immersion pumps and agitators from ABG in Karlsruhe. These products are used above all in the chemical and chemical processing industries. The addition of the new product range gives a greater manufacturing depth and guarantees higher-level utilisation of our manufacturing resources. It all corresponds to the company philosophy; Jahns Regulatoren is built, not on dramatic growth, but rather on continuity and quality. We consider prompt submission of quotations and timely delivery of products to be key factors for success. Today, Christian Dapp heads up the company; he is the fourth generation of the Dapp family to do so. Page 2

3 Planetary gear units JPSM Coaxial planetary gear unit in 16 sizes up to Nm Angle-drive planetary gear unit in 15 sizes up to Nm Gear unit output with splined shaft, keyed shaft, splined hollow shaft or shrink disc. Gear unit foot mounting with keyed shaft. On the input side the gear units can be supplied with keyed shaft for belt transmission, with hydraulically applied multiple disc brakes, as well as connections for all currently available hydraulic and electric motors. For the main drive side, splined hubs, endplates, main drive fl anges, pinions, splined shafts and shrink discs are also available. Axial piston pump TPV Adjustable axial piston pumps for closed-loop circulation. Available in 2 sizes as single or tandem pump with a delivery volume of 6.8 to 30 cm 3 /rev per pump. Operating pressure: continuous 210 bar, peak 350 bar. Version available with mechanical displacement or servo-hydraulic cylinder displacement (dependent on pilot pressure), compensator reset and add-on feed pump. Hydraulic aggregates These are non-standard aggregates. They are manufactured in accord-ance with customer circuit diagrams and take into account factory standards or in-house project planning. Mini power units for mobile applications. Hydraulic cylinders Proven, robust, all-purpose, weld-screw constructions. The anti-stick, anti-slip gaskets guarantee optimum sealing. The range includes cylinders with swivel eye, joint eye, yoke and fl ange on the cylinder base, swivel-pin or fl ange on the cylinder head and swivel eye, joint-eye and cable head on the piston rod. Other cylinders are likewise available; these include cylinders with foot-mounting, cylinders to customer drawing and cylinders to propel clear water. Rack and piston swivel gear 12 sizes from 300 Nm to Nm. Devices up to Nm are possible on request. High radial load bearing capacity on the main drive shaft, continuous hollow shaft, standard swivel angle between 60 and 360, larger swivel angles on request. Specifi c versions available for all special hydraulic fl uids. Page 3

4 Piston flow-divider valves MKA and MKS Two section flow-divider in the form of a valve. Flow-divider valve works in both fl ow directions. Within the permissible synchronising error, the division ratio is largely independent of the pressure and viscosity of the medium. Available in 3 sizes, with a total oil fl ow-rate of between 2 and 150 l/min. The MKA version has an aluminium housing (peak pressure 210 bar) and the MKS version a steel housing (peak pressure 350 bar). Gear flow-divider MTO (aluminium housing) Two to twelve section divider, available in two sizes with a part oil fl ow-rate from a minimum of 2 l/min to a maximum of 62 l/min. Working pressure 210 to 250 bar. Within each specifi c size, devices with varying absorption-volumes differ only in terms of the width of the housing. The chamber inlets are interconnected internally. Every second chamber has an inlet junction to enable connection according to fl ow-rate and dynamic pressure. Version A has a combined pressure-limit and prefi ll valve incorporated directly in the housing. Gear flow-divider MTC Two to eight section divider, available in two sizes. Within each specifi c size, devices with varying absorption-volumes differ only in terms of the width of the housing. Up to 4 sections have a common inlet as standard. When there are more than 4 sections, it is common practice to incorporate an additional inlet section. If necessary, this additional inlet section can also be used in the case of three or even two chambers. The pressure-limit valves have fi xed, predefi ned values. This series will soon be replaced by the MTO type (aluminium). Gear flow-divider MHD Two to eight section divider, available in two sizes with a part oil fl ow-rate from a minimum of 11 l/min to a maximum of 250 l/min. Within each specifi c size, devices with varying absorption-volumes differ only in terms of the width of the housing. Each fl ow-divider has a separate inlet section in addition to the individual chambers. This provides a common inlet for up to four sections. When there are more than four sections, further sections can be fi tted using a junction piece. These devices are being increasingly replaced by MTO (cast iron housings). Page 4

5 Gear flow-divider MTO (cast iron housing) Two to twelve section divider in two sizes, in robust cast iron housings with a part oil fl ow-rate between a minimum of 16 l/min and a maximum of 220 l/min. Working pressure 235 to 270 bar. Within each specifi c size, there is no difference between devices with varying absorption-volumes. Steel output block for end-position damping, with a pressure-limit valve for secondary protection, a prefi ll valve and test port for each section. Radial piston flow-divider MT-GM Two section divider, available in 5 sizes with a partial oil fl ow-rate between a minimum of 5 l/min and a maximum of 550 l/min. Operating pressure 240 bar. Steel output block for end-position damping, with a pressure-limit valve for secondary protection, a prefi ll valve and test port for each section. The MTA range also includes smaller radial piston fl ow-dividers as two-section dividers, minimum input 3 l/min. Radial piston flow-divider MTL Two to twelve section divider, available in 3 sizes with a part oil-fl ow rate between a minimum of 28 l/min and a maximum of 250 l/min. Working pressure 240 bar. Steel output block for end-position damping, with a pressure-limit valve for secondary protection, a prefill valve and test port for each section. Can be supplied with contact-free revolution counter. Linear stroke volumetric-divider MLH Three to eight section divider. The Jahns range of linear stroke volumetric-dividers comprises devices in 8 sizes. They achieve a vastly superior level of synchronisation, even compared to radial fl ow-dividers. In contrast to the MT and MTL rotary oil-fl ow dividers, these are volume-dosing devices, that is to say they are volumetric-dividers in the true sense of the word. A key difference in respect to the MZB volumetric-divider is its short length. The linear stroke volumetric-dividers are supplied as four-chamber devices. Our range also includes 3, 5, 6 and 8-section dividers. Valve blocks are available for all sizes to incorporate different functions. It is also possible to retrofi t the standard B2.6 valve block. The operating pressure for all MLH devices is 250 bar. Page 5

6 Multi-chamber volumetric-dividers MZB Two to two section dividers. The Jahns range of MZB multi-chamber, volumetric-dividers comprises devices in 7 sizes. The current chamber capacity extends from 79 cm 3 up to cm 3. Dividers up to cm 3 are also available on request. The level of synchronisation is equal to that achieved by the MLH series of linear stroke volumetric-dividers. The operating pressure for all devices in the MZB series is 250 bar. This can be increased to 420 bar for bespoke constructions. Valve blocks B-26, B-27 and B28 B-26 standard block is modular in construction, with a pressure-limit valve and a prefi ll valve for each chamber. The size of the block is selected on the basis of the fl ow-rate (40 or 140 l/min) for each chamber. The B-27 version is like the B-26. However it has an additional stop valve for each chamber. This prevents the ingress of oil during commissioning, for as long as oil is still contaminated. Otherwise it helps separate the block from the volumetric divider for the purpose of fault diagnostics or valve replacement. The B-28 version is like the B-27. However, it has an additional solenoid activated cartridge valve to facilitate venting during commissioning. This also makes it easier to change the oil when the machine is operational and enables the oil to heat up more rapidly. The valve blocks are connected by pipes to the MZB. Radial piston motor HMs 8 motors in 4 sizes are available as standard with a range of absorption volumes between 18 und 147 cm³/rev. All motors come with the option of a keyed or splined hollow shaft, various revolution counters, hydraulically applied multiple disc brakes and connection plates for NG6 and NG10 control valves. Special versions are available for particular bespoke applications (HMs 23, HMs 31, HMs 54, HMs 65, HMs 75 and HMs 165). Continuous operating pressure: 210 to 280 bar, dependent on revolution speed. Radial piston motor HMw 18 motors in 6 sizes are available as standard with a range of absorption volumes between 188 and cm³/rev. All the motors come with the option of a splined shaft, keyed shaft or a splined hollow shaft, contact-free revolution counter, hydraulically applied multi-disc brakes and connection blocks with integrated pressure limit and prefi ll valves. 7 Radial piston motor HMF and HMT This new HMF product series replaces the types HMA, HMB and HMC, some of which are still available. It comes in 7 sizes with the possibility of 55 different absorption volumes between 39 and 4300 cm³/rev. Large batch production means that this range of motors is competitively priced. Continuous pressure 250 bar, peak pressure up to 420 bar. The motors can be supplied with splined shaft, cylindrical or conically shaped, keyed shaft, splined hollow shaft and with different types of revolution counter. The HMT series is the fast running version of the HMF series of motors and replaces the previous HMD series. Radial piston motor HMZ The HMZ series currently comprises radial piston motors in 2 sizes with smooth, stepless transmission. The ratio of minimum to maximum absorption volumes is between 1:2 and 1:4. Wheel drive Consists of a drive gear with and without fi xing brake and hydro motor. Reliably high radial load bearing capacities. The GKR series incorporates the motor and the gear system in a housing. Vane motors MD4 and MDS2 In 1992 Jahns took over the manufacture, sales and servicing of the range of vane motors, previously produced by Teves. The MD4 constant motors are produced in 4 sizes and the MDS2, 3- stage, switchable, vane motors in 3 sizes with an absorption volume between 51.6 und 2496 cm³/rev. The key advantages of these motors lie in their compact design (small outer diameter) and the continuous hollow shaft on the main drive side which offers multiple different application possibilities. The size 6 is no longer available. Instead, a version of the size 5.5 can be supplied which has the same connection dimensions. Gerotor motor Planetary motors in 7 series with an absorption volume of 8 to 900 cm 3 /rev. 2-hole and 4-hole SAE-fl anges can be supplied to fi t all drive shafts that are commonly used with these motors. Standard valve extensions for brake valve, shuttle valve and relief valves are available for all motors. Page 7
