13 Quartus MSL Mechanical Set Liner Hangers Single & Dual Cone Versions Quartus MSL Liner Hangers are used to suspend cemented and un-cemented liners off bottom. Due to their heavy-duty construction, they are capable of successfully suspending very long and heavy liners off bottom. The Quartus MSL mechanical-set liner hanger is available with a one-piece integral barrel for maximum pressure integrity. A dual-cone version with dual set of slips alignment is also available for extra bypass and additional hanging capacity. Due to the added bypass area, pressure build-up is reduced during run-in and cementing, which reduces the chances of damage to pressure- sensitive formations. Quartus MSL Liner Hangers are SET by picking up on the liner and rotating to disengage the J-Slot from its running-in position. As the liner is lowered, leaf springs holds the control body stationary. This action allows the barrel (mandrel) to move downward engaging the cone against the slips and further moving slips outward against the casing wall. Quartus MSL Liner Hangers are available in either left or righthand-rotation set models. 11

16 Quartus QHH Liner Hangers Single & Dual Cone Versions The setting mechanism of Quartus QHH Liner Hangers are pressure-activated (hydraulic set). Setting is achieved after a ball is seated on the Landing Collar. The pressure shears the pins in the setting piston which pushes the slips up and around the cone. Additional pressure shears the pins in the landing collar, releasing the ball and seat so that circulation can be restored. Integral barrel design. The one-piece construction minimizes leaks, while providing maximum pressure and torque performance. The Quartus QHH Liner Hangers cannot be set prematurely when entering tighter internal diameters due to the powerful steel spring which prevents premature settings even when run through doglegs and debris. The Quartus QHH Liner Hangers is pressure-activated; (hydraulic set type) hence, it requires no rotation to be set. The shear pinned setting piston prevents the liner hanger from being set prematurely by surge pressure. The Quartus QHH Liner Hangers can be washed down (circulated), and reciprocated for conditioning the hole prior to setting the hanger with no fear of premature setting. 14

The mechanical version is available in either left or right hands setting action. Increased Flow Area, Higher Cementing Integrity, provide maximum fluid bypass for easier running and lower circulating pressures.
