5 GENERAL Copany profile HISTORY IndustrialWinch are a global partner of EMCE copany originated in 1933, producing aterial handling lifts fro a sall anufacturing facility in Capelle. In the 1960 s and 70 s, it expanded its operations to deliver winch design and fabrication in line with a growing deand fro local industry. IndustrialWinch has traditionally provided winches and capstans of renowned quality and design to Dutch fishing, shipbuilding and civil engineering copanies. However, as the offshore oil and gas industry expanded, IndustrialWinch international dealership network expanded to service inquiries fro across the world. Over tie, IndustrialWinch has added nuerous hydraulic, pneuatic and bespoke solutions to its standard electric winch inventory, yet has never lost sight of its original vision to develop the siplest, ost reliable equipent possible. Today, about 75% of Industrial- Winch orders are designed and built to suit the end-user s specific operating and perforance paraeters. Total in-house design, fabrication and testing insure that high quality products and services reain a hallark of the copany. 7 GENERAL Product range WINCHES Our winches provide solutions for lifting, pulling, an-riding, ooring and anchoring. They range fro 100 to 100 tons and are electrically, hydraulically or pneuatically driven - or equipped with a cobination of these options. Alongside a coprehensive range of standard wor gear- and planetary-driven winches, we offer tailored solutions to suit any perforance criteria and application. We also provide a coplete design appraisal service and F.A.T.s for third parties, using our unique dynaic in-house test bed which is rated to 85 tons. CAPSTANS We provide rugged, self-contained wor gear or planetary capstan systes with electric, hydraulic or pneuatic transission. The standard range runs to 15 tons and/or working head diaeters up to 600 and all capstans can be ATEX-rated, where required. The on-deck drive of wor gear capstans is equipped with a waterproof otor for interittent use, whilst the below-deck drive has a drip-waterproof otor, and a self- aligning ounting plate suitable for high static loads, such as those applied to ooring ropes. Our planetary capstans feature a cast-iron capstan-head ounted onto a heavy-duty planetary gearbox. The whole drive is housed in a watertight tubular frae to provide optial protection fro the eleents. HOSE REELS IndustrialWinch hose reels - which range fro 1 to 8 inches in diaeter and up to 4 etres flange size - have applications both on and offshore, but are principally installed on heavy lift vessels, sei-subs, DSVs, research vessels, cable and pipe laying vessels and offshore pile-driving barges. They are usually built to order and spool hoses for fresh water, MDO fuel and hydraulic fluids, pneuatic hoses and electrical power supply cables. Our reels can be electrically, hydraulically or pneuatically driven and ATEX rated, where applicable. PROJECTS Over the last 30 years, Industrial- Winch has delivered ore than 30,000 winches worldwide. But IndustrialWinch has also developed soe of its products beyond the winch stage, for exaple in the creation of its proprietary Diving Launch and Recovery Syste - the DLR which is used for offshore diving applications to 90 eters. Fully copliant with the requireents of EC Machinery Directives, IMCA regulations and with an ATEX certificate, the DLR-1250 is available for sale or lease. SERVICE & REPAIR Although we design and supply the highest quality products, regular aintenance can be critical to ensuring optial perforance, safety and regulatory copliance. 9 Reote control pedestal GENERAL Mooring winch SR25E About winches I INTRODUCTION With nuerous possible configurations of winch, we thought a brief overview of their paraeters, standards and selection criteria would prove useful. WORKING LOAD LIMIT () usually applies to the first layer of cable and decreases with each additional cable layer. The line pull is expressed in or dan. It is iportant that the working length of the cable on the dru is deterined, with three additional safety windings reaining on the dru at all ties. CABLE SAFETY FACTOR Depending on the classification group of the echanis, the exact rope safety factor (breaking strength) for lifting winches can be chosen according to ISO A five-fold factor is norally applied to lifting applications; threefold for pulling winches and an eight to ten-fold factor for personnel lifting. SPEED The required speed of winches varies according to their purpose. In soe cases, a variable speed option is required, delivered via a proportional control valve for pneuatic or hydraulic winches. For electric winches, frequency inverters are a cost-effective solution with additional technical benefits. POWER SOURCE IndustrialWinch products accoodate a range of power supply options, including electric, hydraulic and pneuatic. Should your power source be other than the one stated in this catalogue, please consult Industrial- Winch and our Engineering Departent will recalculate the winch based on your available supply. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT Our winches are built to withstand a variety of challenging environental conditions, including standard operating teperatures of 0º - 40º C. However, where ore exacting conditions apply, we can build echaniss that extend BRAKES these operating paraeters to suit. Every lifting winch requires a fail-safe braking syste. Our standard electric and pneuatic wor gear winches are self-braking, which is fine for general lifting purposes. Brake otors can also be incorporated where necessary, or we can provide echaniss without brakes. CONTROLS All available winch-related controls can be incorporated into IndustrialWinch products. On electric otors, a range of additional controls are available alongside the noral push buttons, direct reversing switches and reote controls (pendant or radio-controlled). These include liit switches (to stop the winch when the dru is full or epty), an electronic line pull liiter, variable speed, slack and rope detection and constant tensioning, Eexd executions etc. 9

10 GENERAL Hosereel SB307RE Capstan C310E About winches II CLUTCHES We generally use either friction or claw-type clutches, dependent on the requireent. Friction clutches can be operated under load, can copensate for differences in turning speeds between the dru and driveline and can be operated either anually or reotely. As such, they tend to be ore coplex and expensive than claw-type clutches which, by contrast, are sipler, ore robust, dependable and inexpensive. ELECTRIC REQUIREMENTS Ordinarily, we work with protection class IP 54 (splash watertight and dust-proof) for otors and control boxes. Pendant reote controls are IP 65 protected. Motors can also be supplied with IP 56 TENV (totally enclosed and non-ventilated), for deck equipent in arine use. We provide explosion-proof winches and spark-free otors and control boxes for use in designated zones. CABLE GUIDES The distance between the dru and the sheave can be 20 ties the length of a sooth dru and 15 ties the length of a grooved dru. For large fleet angles, a cable spooling gear ay be required. A grooved winch dru helps the cable spool correctly onto the dru, but so too does the application of a constant load, so pressure rollers are recoended to avoid slack in the cable. BAND BRAKES Bank brakes are typically used for applications where a second brake is required, such as anriding or where the static load is a ultiple of the dynaic. They can be provided anually or fail-safe autoatically by eans of a hydraulic or pneuatic cylinder. 10

Due to the self-braking worgears the winches are suitable for pulling up a slope. A brake is available as an option for accurate positioning or repetitive lifting applications up to 2,000. 17 Manual Operated Winches M SERIES A range of floor-ounted anually driven winches developed for heavy duty lifting and pulling duties up to 2,620. For applications where no other power source than huan power is available, for exaple, windlasses on sall barges, lifting of rap doors on sall ferries or any other industrial heavy duty job. The custoer can choose for a hand wheel or crank drive syste. A special safety crank with integrated centrifugal brake is available as an option for lifting duties. The axiu huan force to be applied is 25. The self-braking worgear is cobined with an autoatic fail-safe otor brake for precise load control. 20 Hydraulic Worgear Winches H series A range of hydraulic self-braking worgear winches developed for heavy duty lifting and pulling applications up to 3,150. Due to the odular concept and the flexibility of our production it is possible to build, with short delivery ties, any variations of these winches such that they ay be adapted to your specific needs. The types H 500 and H 700 are constructed without a brake and are designed to be totally self-braking. The types H 1200 to H 3150 are designed with a fail-safe brake and brake valve. 22 Pneuatic Worgear Winches LV series This range of explosion-proof winches provides the solution for pneuatic winch applications deanding lightweight construction. The use of vane type otors and inherently safe self-braking worgears ensures trouble-free operation and low aintenance. These winches find their use in general industry, oil and gas exploration, and in any places where copact, explosion-proof hoisting gear is required. The range includes two fast speed types, the LV 256 and LV 508, which also have optional carrying handles, and slower speed types up to 1700 of lifting capacity. The self-braking properties of the worgear drive cobined with closed ports is sufficient for alost all hoisting purposes. An additional brake ay be necessary for accurate positioning of a load. Please consult the factory in this case. 24 Personnel lifting Winches MR series Personnel lifting winches are ainly built to client specifications and can be executed with a self-braking wor-, helical- or planetary gear depending on the load required. The drive can be either electric, hydraulic or pneuatic. IndustrialWinch has supplied anriding systes up to a working load liit of 10,000. IndustrialWinch have supplied winches for the following applications: - safety harness or a boatswain s chairs - diving frae applications - baskets or platfors - cable way rescue winches INDUSTRY As safety is ost iportant with personnel lifting applications a third party design review is often required. The type of design review is however very uch depending on the local rules and regulations. For onshore personnel lifting applications within the European Union often a EC type exaination is required. Offshore personnel lifting winches often require the sae class as the ship or rig they are being used on. Most coon classifications for offshore personnel lifting winches are LRS, ABS, DNV and GL. All the above classification agencies have different rules and regulations. Therefore it s very iportant that we are infored about the required classification in order to offer the correct winch to you. 46 Manriding Winches MR 30 FL Designed to the standards issued by the classification bodies and it eets the UK HSE regulations for personnel lifting operations on offshore installations. The winches are dedicated personnel lifting winches supplied with full aterial traceability. They have passed EC testing for these applications, i.e., both the winches and their technical files are in copliance with the requireents of the EC Machinery Directives. The MR 30 FL winches have been specially designed for personnel lifting applications in which a safety harness or a boatswain s chair is used on fixed installations with a total of 150. The MR 30 FGL winches have passed EC testing for these applications, i.e., both the winches can be supplied with a Lloyds Register of Shipping (LRS), ABS or DNV Design Appraisal Certificate. 60 Diver Launch and Recovery unit DLR-1250 This syste is used for offshore diving applications. The axiu lowering capacity is 90 etres so it can be used for offshore platfor diving operations as well. It consists of an A-frae with 2 approved anriding winches and a redundant electrically driven hydraulic power unit. All fit a 20 standard size container; even 2 of DLR-1250 will fit in one 20 container. One winch is used to lift and lower the dive bell, while the other for the clup weight; a third optional winch can be used as a utility/tool winch. The function of the clup weight is to keep the dive bell straight and steady under water. In case of an eergency or breakdown of the wet bell winch, the clup weight winch will be able to lift the dive bell and clup weight together. Designed to fulfil the requireents of Lloyds and it also eets the UK HSE regulations for personnel lifting operations on offshore installations. The winches and A-frae are especially ade for personnel lifting suitable for diving operations and offered with a Lloyds Register of Shipping (LRS) Design Appraisal Certificate and full aterial traceability. Winches are built to order and can be executed with a self-braking worgear or planetary gear, depending on the load required. The drive can be either electric, hydraulic or pneuatic.
