3 0. Summary The size f the imprt/exprt f slar cllectrs in Eurpe has been investigated. The investigatin based n data frm 90% f the EU market shws a cnsiderable and increasing trans-natinal trade f cllectrs acrss the brders in Eurpe: 30-50% f all glazed cllectrs are crssing the brders The crss brder trade is increasing. 1. Intrductin Only cllectrs are treated in this draft dcument frm the respnses n the questinnaire (ANNEX A) it was clear that cllectrs are by far the mst brder crssing prduct. 12 It is nticed frm the figures: Austria has a very gd psitin n the Eurpean market exprting 300 in 2005 (almst duble f the Austrian hme market) Austria is the big exprter Germany is secnd t nne the biggest market in Eurpe and nw the German industry is als gaining a gd psitin n the Eurpean market exprting almst 100 in 2005 but Germany is still the big imprter (250 ) The new fast grwing markets in Eurpe: France, Spain and Italy are imprting mst f their cllectrs Despite the small hme market, the Swiss industry has managed t establish a substantial exprt (larger than the hme market) The Danish market is nly ne with a decreasing trend in the perid (it seems that the Danish cllectr manufacturers has missed their chance in the mid 90 ties t develp the exprt markets) 4. General trends The general trends are shwn in fig. 3 & 4: The general trend is that the markets, the exprts and the imprts are all increasing Exprt is grwing very fast als in relative numbers (frm 10% t 45% the last 10 years) Apprx. 1/3 f all cllectrs in the investigated cuntries are imprted.
