Likely locations are the eturn Duct, a Nearby Wall or onvenient tuds where plywood can be installed to support the housing. void mounting the U3000 on the upply duct. (4v -stat ype). elect only the functions you want or need. our changes will take effect in real time and the U3000 will remember your settings even after a power failure. When the power is restored, the U3000 will re-configure the network automatically. Use the Forward & Back buttons to navigate thru the enu Features. Via the U3000 s advanced staging logic, (see the next page) the U3000 will stage or modulate the ystem s BU capacity to match the discharge air set-point target, for each mode of operation. tep 8 tep 9 tep 0 tep OOL OD: If the ooling upply ir emperature is above the ooling arget, the U3000 will increase the ool Output by % every seconds. W hreshold 95% tep elect the value at which the uxiliary (W) or Back-up system energizes. he ange is 65% - 99% and the default value is 95% of ystem () Output. etting the value low means the uxiliary system will operate more often. etting a high value means the uxiliary system operates less often. here is a 5% differential added to the value selected which prevents short cycling. etting the W threshold to 99% effectively turns it OFF. he reason for this is the differential. o, a value of 94% actually trips at 99%. hus, a value of 99% would require the ystem Output to reach 04% which is impossible. Use the 99% value if you want the uxiliary system to nergize on the Outside ir et-point only. For example, if zone has more heat loss/gain than zone or zone 3, you can now assign it more weight, which is a big advantage over the old Legacy DD demand feature. Z WIH 5% tep 4 elect the Weight value that will be applied to Zone hermostat. ou may select from a range of 0% to 00%. he factory default value is 70%. he sum of all the zones weights can add up to 00% or less. he U3000 staging process is very unique. he difference between the arget et-point and the ctual upply ir temperature along with the esponse Delay determines how fast or slow the U3000 will stage the HV system. Via the ystem () Output screen, (see the next page) the U3000 will increase or decrease the ystem Output value so it can match the arget set-point. When the target is matched, the U3000 will stop staging, unless the x3 staging range stops it first. tep 5 elect the Weight value that will be applied to Zone hermostat. ou may select from a range of 0% to 00%. he factory default value is 5%. he sum of all the zones weights can add up to 00% or less. Z3 WIH 5% tep 6 elect the Weight value that will be applied to Zone 3 hermostat. ou may select from a range of 0% to 00%. he factory default value is 5%. he sum of all the zones weights can add up to 00% or less. otal = 3 tep 7 LII ID LII ID D DFL ON N tep 8 elect N for NO, if you want the U3000 to tage the HV system Up & Down, in an effort to achieve the programmed upply ir emperature argets for H heat, as heat or ool operations. he ID Loop is allowed to operate within the range of the zone weight demand totals x3. his is the Default mode of system operation. he ystem () demand value is based upon the sum of the demand(s) times the weight of each active calling zone. ee page 3 for more details. 6 LD creen crolling Displays Once the programming is complete and the ystem is running, the LD screen will scroll and display the following data screens continuously. he HV system mode of operation is displayed including upply ir and Outdoor ir temperature, uxiliary and mergency mode including IQ Functions. he U3000 LD will continuously croll data as to which Zones are actively calling for a Heating, ooling or Fan Operation. By watching the LD display you can observe all system functions as they occur. If desired, you can lock the LD on a single screen by pushing the rogram Up button one time. hen select the screen you want to watch using the Up or Down button. he LD will stay locked on that screen for 0 minutes then resume scrolling, or you can unlock the screen by pushing the Forward button one time. Below are LD data screen examples: Z h030c000f000 Zone is calling for his indicates the presence of a ommunicating hermostat in Zone whose demands are given a weighted value due to it s proportional capability. (0% - 30% - 60% - 85% - 00% - etc.) Z h050c000f000 ommunicating hermostats are capable of providing a proportional heat or cool demand signal. 4v H hermostats cannot provide a proportional heat or cool demand signal. ie:heat demand = 50% -00% ( with ux) ool demand = 00% ( alone) Zone is calling for his indicates the presence of a egular 4v H -stat (alling for st stage heat) in Zone. 4v H hermostats cannot provide a proportional heat or cool demand signal. h035c000f035 his screen displays the () Output percentage to the HV quipment. In this Heat ump xample, the U3000 is demanding 35% heating capacity and 35% fan capacity. hat means st stage heat () is active. If the H arget set-point is not satisfied before reaching 5% Output, will energize. Both screens will display values during mergency mode. he next screen displays the ystem ercentage demand to Humidify or De-humidify. Humidify or IQ demands may come from a ommunicating thermostat or 4v ontrol. he U3000 honors De-Humidify demands from ommunicating thermostats with ommunicating HV systems only. If the upply ir ensor is disconnected or fails, the U3000 will display the Bad ensor screen and will default to imed ode staging until the Zone -stat demands are satisfied. If the U3000 observes the supply air temperature exceed any arget set-point plus or minus the O or U off-set, the U3000 will display one of upply O* 56 upply U* 38 these screens. Outside 3! O ensor Bad! his screen shows the real time outside air temperature at the location of the outside air sensor. his O value could be from the ommunicating HV system or from a ensor connected to the U3000. If the O sensor fails or is disconnected, the U3000 will display the Bad ensor screen and will default to emergency mode. If you do not want to use an O ensor to stage the system, adjust the O (et-oint) value down to the OFF position and the U3000 will display the screen to the right. Detecting 4v shorts to common or shorts to earth ground When the.5 breaker is tripped it will get hot to the touch and none of the panel LD s will illuminate. he LD will also cease to function. o reset the breaker, locate the short by removing each hot wire connected to the panel, one at a time. When the shorted wire is removed, the panel will resume normal functions. Now you must repair or replace the shorted wire. If one or more 40m or 500m breakers trip, only the device(s) connected to that block will be affected. emove each hot wire connected to that block until the voltage is restored. Find and repair the short before re-connecting the wires. If there is a short between the Data & wires or if the Data wires are shorted to 4v or earth ground, the ommunicating thermostat on that zone will alert you by displaying all for ervice. If no communicating thermostat is connected and a short occurs on the 4v wires, that zone will not function. Find and repair the short using the methods described above.
