Plug-in DPDT relays and snap-in relay terminal boards (R ) make the R1000 quick and easy to install and repair--ideal for retrofit installations. 2 The R1000 Series is compatible with a wide variety of low voltage controllers and features components that are easily removed and replaced. The R and -20 come with one R terminal board, which easily snaps out when needed. See Table 3 for competitive wiring cross references. In addition, the DPDT relay unplugs for easy replacement and features a dust cover, which minimizes particulate contamination of the contacts. 3 Application Information ombinations of R1000 products allow for a wide variety of applications; see Figures 3 to 7 for sample configurations. The DPDT relays allow for either normally open or normally closed operation. Note: The R1000 is shipped with a jumper between terminals and 3. In some applications this jumper must be removed, and/or an additional jumper between terminals and must be added. (The, jumper does not come factory installed.) See Figures 3 to 7 for proper jumper positions. Note:! AUTION: If relay contacts 3, 4NO, and 4N need to be isolated from and, then the jumper between and 3 must be removed. Damage to equipment could result if the jumper is not removed when necessary. The R1000 s resistor draws 0.2 amps in all applications. The resistor is used as a load for thermostats with anticipators. (The thermostat would be wired to terminals and.) In this application, hot water takes preference over heating. Whenever there is a hot water demand, the heating circulators are automatically turned off. 5 M ounting W iring! AUTION: Read the entire installation sheet before beginning installation. Failure to follow instructions could cause personal injury or property damage. Installation Instructions 1. Gather supplies needed: drill drill bit No. 19 (3.30 mm) two No , (M4, mm) screws if installing the R1000-1; three screws if installing the R or 40 flat-blade screwdriver pliers for knockouts 2. Remove the two cover screws with a flat-blade screwdriver. Pull the R1000 s cover off. 3. Snap out the R1000 circuit board, if necessary. 4. Drill two holes using the mounting holes in the back of the enclosure as a template. 5. Secure the R1000 to the wall using screws and a flat-blade screwdriver. (Replace the circuit board if it was snapped out in Step 3.) 6. Wire the unit as detailed in the Wiring section. 7. Remove the appropriate knockouts with pliers. 8. Replace the cover and the cover screws.! WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before wiring connections are made to prevent electrical shock or possible damage to the equipment. Low voltage wiring connections are made to the screw terminals using AWG wire (18 AWG recommended). For high-voltage wiring, follow the local and applicable National Electric odes. Terminal Designations for the R1000-1, -10, and -20 are detailed in Table 2. With the R , only one common terminal is necessary for the and pair inputs (if used). The rest of the R s terminals correlate with the designations specified in Table 2. Note: All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electric ode as well as local regulations. If the job requires the retrofit of a R with either a Honeywell or a White-Rodgers relay, see Table 3 for terminal designations that correspond with the R1000.!
