6 VI UI ome Helpful uidelines ll V measurements on the panel and V measurements at the damper terminals and thermostat terminals should be made with the ground lead of your meter on terminal of the V input terminals. ll V measurements at the HV system terminals (, & ) should be made with the meter ground lead on the system's terminal at the HV system. aution! he thermal fuse (F) gets very hot when a short occurs in the V wiring or the panel. lways use caution when checking the fuse. hen measuring V, the voltage can vary from to 8V. heck V Power ampers Not esponding Properly ou should measure V at all damper terminals and all thermostat terminals. ou should measure V at the V test point (see figure for location) and V at the V test point. ee able if any of these voltages are incorrect. If the Z and Z L indicators are illuminated but the dampers appear to be malfunctioning, check that the dampers are wired correctly. If the Z and Z Ls are not responding properly, check the calls on each zone thermostat. If the calls indicate a damper should be activated and is not, press the switch to reset the timers. Using the L Indicators he U indicator should blink on and off every second to indicate the microcomputer is operating properly. he, and Ls indicate that the panel is trying to activate the HV system. he Z and Z L indicate that the panel is trying to activate the dampers. HV ystem Not esponding Properly able. etecting V horts and Loss of V or V If the problem persists, see able for service help. If the, and L indicators are responding properly, but the system appears to be malfunctioning, check that the HV system is wired correctly. If the, and Ls are not responding properly, check the calls on each zone thermostat. If the calls indicate an HV call should be activated and is not, press the switch to reset the timers. etecting V hort Isolating V horts 000 or X- Panels he U L will be off, you will measure V at the transformer terminal, but not at any damper terminal or any zone thermostat terminal. he thermal fuse will be very hot. emove the power to the panel and all expansion panels and allow the fuse to cool. isconnect the jumper cable between the panel and the first expansion panel. e-power the panel. If the short persists, the problem is in the 000 or its wiring. etecting Loss of V or V If the short still persists disconnect all the wires at each damper (,, & ). If the short clears, check the damper wiring and the damper. If the short still persists, the panel or expansion panel is defective. he V and V can be measured at the test points shown in figure on page 8. If either voltage is not correct, disconnect the jumper cable connecting the panel and the first expansion panel. Isolating V horts Panel or iring emove the wire at each zone thermostat terminal and test if the short still persists. If the short disappears, check the zone thermostat wiring and the thermostat itself. If the voltage problem clears, check that the V power is wired to the correct terminals (terminal to and terminal to as shown in figure 9). If the problem still persists, the panel is defective. ontrols Inc. 8 Highway nglishtown, NJ FX ail- info@ewccontrols.com
