2 THE ELECTRIC ENERGY SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA NSW Annual Electric Energy Conference 6th September 2017 The Electric Energy Society of Australia (EESA) NSW Chapter would like to invite you to our Annual Electric Energy Conference on Wednesday 6th September The conference has the theme Examining the evolution occurring across the electric energy area for a better understanding of the many opportunities and threats. The conference will cover many of the key issues impacting the electric energy and associated businesses in the short to medium term and the opportunities that might be available for existing and new players in this exciting space. In putting together the conference program, we have focussed on the subject areas that we believe are most relevant to people working in the electric energy businesses as well as the many businesses that interact with and support these businesses. The EESA NSW Annual Electric Energy Conference will again be held at the Dockside Conference Centre on the Balcony level at Cockle Bay Wharf. This conference centre has great facilities, is centrally located in Sydney, allows easy access from public transport and there is plenty of parking available close by. All the conference sessions will be streamed live and thus remote participants will be able to view the sessions live online and also ask questions of the presenters online via the session chair. There is also ample opportunity to learn from and network with your peers and the many exhibitors in a relaxed setting. The NSW Annual Electric Energy Conference will cover the following issues The future of the Australian Energy Market Successfully managing the increasing penetration of intermittent generation Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap - Key Concepts Report update Energy storage developments Microgrids - how they can be a cost effective replacement for remote rural lines and the business opportunities they can provide major customers Internet of Things, smart houses, smart grids where are we at with smart technologies? Future business opportunities in the electric energy area What engineers in the future will need to know? (and how to get those skills) And more! The EESA NSW Chapter is also keen to engage with companies who provide equipment and/or services to Electric Energy Businesses and thus the program has been designed to include presentations by Session Sponsors and Exhibitors. Thus as part of each session there will be up to 2 short presentations that will provide information on a company s latest products or services to the live and online audiences. These presentations will provide a great opportunity for attendees to understand some of the latest technologies, products or services available (or becoming available) to the electric energy industry. 4 General Information Location Conditions and Cancellations The NSW Annual Electrical Energy Conference will be held at Dockside on the Balcony level one at Cockle Bay Wharf. The following map indicates the location. As you can see this conference centre is centrally located in Sydney, allows easy access from public transport and there is plenty of parking available close by. For people working in the CBD it is in easy walking distance. See - corporate-events for more information - we will be using the Quay and Cockle Bay rooms. If you are unable to attend the conference, a substitute delegate is welcome at no extra charge. Where no substitute is available, a fee of $ will be deducted from your registration fee for cancellations received by 2em Pty Ltd in writing at least 28 days prior to the event. CPD points Attendance may be credited towards Engineers Australia Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements. Engineers Australia members are required to undertake a minimum of 150 hours of CPD every 3 years.
