4 A WINNING GROUP A SUCCESS STORY SINCE 1972 Universal Filter Italiana, now UFI Filters, was founded in Nogarole Rocca in 1972 as a supplier of filtration systems for the automotive market. Some 10 years later, the Sofima brand was created to exploit the distribution potential of the Italian aftermarket. At the same time the company began working with the most important Formula 1 teams, becoming a supplier of specific, tailor-made solutions guaranteeing top performance and taking the teams to the top of the championships. In the 1990s, thanks to the vision and growth goals of its owners, UFI Filters began to expand into world markets. In 1996, it was the first European filtration company to enter the Chinese market, opening the first of the four plants it now has in that country. The late 1990s was a time of notable growth, with the company winning over Italian car manufacturers with fuel filters that guaranteed the separation of water from diesel. At the start of the new millennium, it became a supplier to the demanding German car companies, providing not only fuel but also oil and air modules, and thus reinforcing its reputation as a global original equipment supplier to the world's leading car manufacturers. Today, six of the seven biggest automotive groups in the world work with UFI to develop their OE filters. The results obtained by the company can be attributed to constant investment in research and development (over 5% of turnover), allowing UFI to achieve innovative, exclusive solutions for its customers. Over the years, UFI has registered 114 patents. The UFI Innovation Centers in Italy and China are equipped with sophisticated, advanced research and analysis tools for developing new products and filtration materials. UFI Group now has over 4000 employees at 14 production sites, 2 innovation centers and 15 sales offices. 4

10 THE AFTERMARKET BUSINESS UNIT THE BEST RANGE FOR THE SPARE PARTS MARKET Based in Verona, Italy, the Aftermarket Business Unit has been an independent entity since 2014 with a clear development strategy. Comprising more than 100 professionals all over the world, it brings together various departments to offer excellent customer service: from product development to marketing (with the constant support of the sales force), from logistics (ensuring a precise, fast and flexible service) to quality (making sure the OE standards are always the same in the aftermarket range) and customer service (always alongside the customer). Eleven sales offices guarantee a widespread presence in all the key business for UFI Filters: Europe, China, India, North America, North Africa and the Middle East. Aftermarket products are sold under the UFI and SOFIMA brands in over 70 countries in partnership with the leading distributors. The range consists of more than 2,500 car, heavy duty, agricultural and motorbike references for each of the two brands. The range is always being updated, taking full advantage of the powerfully innovative stimulus of the OE field to offer customers the best possible service.
