Saturday Corvairs lead the parade into the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA. And display them Lakeside for the public to view. Friday night hospitality party at the host motel. New ignition system, new carbs, new A/C compressor (installed, but not completely hooked to system). Good black interior seats, original tube radio works, almost new tires, good paint (Candy Apple) with just a few spots of surface rust under paint. In addition I have what I believe to be a complete engine for a 1960 Corvair, new pistons, cylinders, bearings, just is not put together, along with a transmission. I also have a complete engine for a 1963 (ran when pulled out). It has a new torque converter, new starter. Distributor is off of engine as well as carbs. Blue exterior and white interior. This car was restored in 2004 and won its class at that year s Springfest. It has the 110 hp motor, powerglide, Clark s interior, dual exhaust, electronic ignition, high-output alternator, wire wheel covers, good tires, two new spare tires, Clarks s lower control arm bracket. It was running when I put it in storage. It is a 110 HP engine. Also have a 140 HP that I would like to go with the car. ( needs to be rebuilt) This leaves me with a 1963 Spyder and a 1970 Chevelle SS that are giving me all that I can handle. The car is in storage in Eatonton, Ga. 5 HEART OF GEORGIA CORVAIR CLUB SEPTEMEBER 2018 From The White House Well I lived in a white house Chuck Smith President Well good people, by the time you read this, another month will be in the books. 3/4 of this year is gone, with only 4 months to go. As reported in last months VairFax, we will be very busy and active as a club. Just to refresh, there is the picnic at the Gassmann's home, with cruise in to follow, 'Vairs at the Fair, the Maggie Valley show, the event at Hilton Head, and our Christmas party. A couple of weekends ago, 12 of us travelled to Chattanooga to the Choo Choo Corvair Classic, hosted by the Choo Choo club. Those attending were Billy and Eleanor Bruce, Lillian Law, Lillian's sister Willie, Billy, Wendy and Kevin Price, Chris and Joan Law, Frank Metasavage, Shirley Smith and Chuck Smith. For the most part, the weather was good, just hot. There was a bad thunderstorm on Friday night, but other than soaking the cars, the weather did not dampen ( ha ha ) the show. Our very own Lillian Law was presented with the Choo Choo Classic Lifetime Award, for her and James unselfish dedication and many contributions to the Corvair hobby. She was presented with a very nice plaque, with a picture of her and James standing in front of their beautiful Rampside. There were around 30 or so cars in the show, which was again located in the gardens at the Choo Choo Hotel.. Heart of Georgia members winning awards were: Billy Bruce, '63 Greenbrier, Billy Price, '64 8-door Greenbrier, Chris Law, custom 'Vair powered trike, and Lillian Law, '63 Rampside. As is always the case, a great time was had by all, with renewing old friendships, creating of new ones, and of course, the eating of good food! That about does it for this month, hope to see you at some or even better, all of the upcoming events! Keep 'em on the road, and do something nice for someone! Chuck p.s.
