2 INTRODUCTION Duro Dyne introduced the first Pinspotter utilizing welded fasteners over 0 years ago. Throughout the years, continuous improvements have been made. The new igh Speed ultihead Pinspotter is the latest achievement in insulation fastening power, speed and reliability. Trouble free service has always been the foundation on which all Duro Dyne Pinspotters are built. All components are designed for easy access for maintenance and service bringing even higher levels of reliability, serviceability and efficiency. IPORTANT Always follow manufacturer s recommendations for proper safety and handling procedures for all materials used in conjunction with this machine as outlined in anufacturer s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for each product. IITED WARRANTY Duro Dyne achinery is manufactured by skilled mechanics, utilizing the latest production techniques. Each unit has been rigorously tested prior to packaging and shipment in order to ensure troublefree operation. Your Duro Dyne machine has a two year warranty against defects in material. Any component found to be defective will be repaired or replaced (at the manufacturer s discretion) at no cost if the faulty component is returned freight prepaid to the nearest Duro Dyne Service Department. The warranty does not apply to expendable parts or repairs or service due to improper maintenance or operation procedures. Duro Dyne products have been engineered to maximize operator safety. Unauthorized modification of this product will void the warranty. All warranty claims must be accompanied by a serial number, date of purchase and the name and address of the distributor it was purchased from. 3 POWER REQUIREENTS. S version 08-0 VAC Phase 70 Amp minimum circuit protection. Circuit protection must be a igh agnetic type circuit breaker or slow blow type fuses. (Due to the inherent inrush current produced by this machine when welding Duro Dyne recommends using the next size larger current capacity wire over code when possible) A) Connect phase power to 00 amp service disconnect (breaker) in bottom left of main cabinet. (This breaker does not represent the minimum circuit protection and is there only for service disconnect purposes.) B) 0VAC Circuit wires to the Amp Breaker (lower left area of main cabinet). 08-0VAC is optional. (See item for Control Circuit Power). S version 80 VAC Phase 0 Amp minimum circuit protection. Circuit protection must be a igh agnetic type circuit breaker or slow blow type fuses. (Due to the inherent inrush current produced by this machine when welding Duro Dyne recommends using the next size larger current capacity wire over code when possible.) A) Connect Phase power to 00 amp service disconnect (breaker) in the bottom left of main cabinet. (This breaker does not represent the minimum circuit protection and is there only for service disconnect purposes.) B) 0 VAC circuit wires go to the Amp and the 8 Amp Breakers. The line side of these breakers should be jump together already from the factory. 0 VAC can be wired to either breaker (located in the lower left area of the main cabinet).. Control Circut Power: 0 volt wires go to internal Amp Breaker. [If using optional 08/0Volt to power the Control Console, move the ulti-tap low voltage Power Supply wires to the corresponding Terminals then connect jumper wires between the internal Amp Breaker to the internal 8Amp Breaker and. (Terminal designations: 0 and 8=0V, and 9=08V, and 60=0V)]. (odel-a) Vibrator Circuit: 08/0Volt model (internal 8Amp Breaker / factory wired from the internal -Phase/00Amp Breaker). (odel-b) Vibrator Circuit: 80Volt model (internal 8Amp Breaker / factory wired together with internal 0VAC/Amp Breaker) AIR REQUIREENTS. 00psi. ain Regulator 00psi (located on the left side of the ain Cabinet). ead Regulator 0-60psi (located on the right side of the ain Cabinet). Carriage Regulator 0-60psi (located on the opposite side of the ain Cabinet). Depart Regulator 80psi (located on the Carriage Regulator) CONTRO WIRES (ENCODER AND FIRE INITIATE CIRCUITS) A) Terminals and are a normally open initiate circuit (no delay) right from the Sheet Sense Wand Switch (located in the lower right area of the ain Cabinet) B) Terminals 9, 0 and are an adjustable delayed initiate circuit for leading edge set-up. 9=N/C, 0=C and =N/O (located in the lower right area of the ain Cabinet) C) Terminals and 6 or and will activate the igh Speed ulti ead unit to weld the pins; must be a normally open contact with a minimum of a 0 millisecond signal (located in the lower right area of the ain Cabinet) - -
4 IG SPEED UTI EAD CONTRO CONSOE (EXTERNA). ain Power Switch Controls Power on and off. E-Stop Emergency Power turn off. ead Switches Controls individual heads on and off. Weld Time Control Controls the amount of time the Dwell and Weld are on. Dwell Time Control Adjustment for how much longer the Dwell Cylinder stays down after welding 6. Cycle Switch Test Switch to cycle the multi ead 7. Weld Switch Switch for disabling the welding circuit 8. Feed Switch Feeds a pin to the tip and can also be used to unload the Feed Tracks when changing pin sizes 9. Auto Cycle Switch akes the Feed Switch feed just once to load a pin to the tip or automatically continue feeding to unload the Feed Tracks 0. Vibrator Speed Adjustments Controls the speed of the Vibrator Bowls that load the pins into the Feed Tracks IG SPEED UTI EAD CONTRO CONSOE (INTERNA). Return Delay Adjustment Delays the return back to home after each weld. Feed Adjustment Determines how long the feed stays out when loading a pin. Feed Delay Adjustment Delays the Feed from loading pins until the Dwell has returned. Initiate Delay Adjustment Delays the initiate signal to the coil line controller for proper placement of the first row of pins. Forward Assist Adjustment Determines how long the Forward Assist Solenoid stays on - -
5 E-STOP APPICATION The E-Stop is your emergency power "OFF". To utilize it, remove the wire from the Contactor- terminal as indicated by the dotted line to the Contactor-. (located in the lower left corner of the ain Cabinet; see detail view below) Override Jumper (See E-Stop Relay #) TB 7 Yel Contactor- v Coil T T Yel T E-Stop Series oop Relay (Field Wired) E-Stop Relay # 0 9 E-Stop Relay # 0 9 TB 9 6 On E-Stop Control Circuit (Field Wired) If circuit is ( connected, override jumper remove) Yel ain Console Safety Sw CO NO NC Safety Override Sw NOTE: E-Stop Relay # supplied is a 0Vac coil. This relay may be changed to match the E-Stop voltage. Off E-Stop Override: The E-Stop Series oop Relay # must be engaged at all times ( / 7) with the ED constantly lit. If this machine's E-Stop Switches malfunction or has a loss of power from Transformer T and/or the E-Stop Series oop Relay fails, jump the two field wires that go to the E-Stop oop Relay together and this will restore the E-Stop oop circuit temporarily. Repair machine failure and return field wiring back to original Jump these wires together (field wired) E-Stop Relay #
6 ORER ODIFICATIONS The Weld Transformers (located in the Yellow Enclosure on the Upper Carriage) may be adjusted if the welds are either too hot or too cold as shown below. NOTE: The original machine weld options are as shown below. 8 ADJUSTING CARRIAGE OVEENT - Carriage "Slams" home during operation: The Flow Control on the Forward Solenoid may need adjustment. - Carriage travel is "Restricted" or "ocked": The Cylinder for the "Carriage Return" is magnetically coupled and may have detached (this will cause the Carriage to not return anymore). Turn the power "OFF" and with an operator on either side of the machine, force the Carriage "ome" to re-couple. The Flow Control on the Return Solenoid, may need to be "Opened" more if this occurs.
