2 Conventional Monitors The M31 valve signalling monitor was designed to automate rotary valves, mainly wih pneumatic actuators of 1/4 turn (90 ), consisting basically of two monitors that detect the open or closed position of the valve, indicated locally by the position signaller. They are based on the technology of the traditional monitors inductive proximity monitors of high reliability and repeatability, without moving parts, operating for several years without failure, even in extremely harsh environments with humidity, vibration, dust, chemicals etc. Monitor Connection System For conventional monitors the following connection system are available, with or without solenoid output. Cable Connection ( No solenoid output ) In this version, the monitor has only the power connection of monitors that indicate the open or closed position of the valve and send the monitors signal to a PLC input card, thus enabling the open or closed remote indication of the valve. Cable Connection ( With solenoid output ) In this version, the monitor has a monitor connection cable which indicates the open or closed position of the valve and transmit the monitors signal to a card input PLC, for position indication and also a second cable, responsible for actuating the solenoid valve that will command the actuator to open or close the valve. M12 connector ( No solenoid output ) In this version, the monitor has only a connector for monitors that indicate the open or closed position of the valve and send the monitors signal to a PLC input card, thus enabling the open or closed remote indication of the valve. M12 connectors ( With solenoid output ) In this version, the monitor has the monitor connector responsible for indicating the open or closed position of the valve and send the signal to a card monitors the input PLC, for position indication and also a second connector, responsible for triggering the solenoid valve that will command the actuator to open or close the valve. 2 Sense

3 Electric Versions DC AC Direct current monitors are versatile, don t have risk of electrical shocks and can be used in PLC interlocking systems or relay logic systems through models: 2E2, 2N4 or even 2N. For the alternating current version, we offer the 2WA model, with solid state output, for use in both PLC and relays. AC / DC The magnetic monitor with mechanical contact can operate with PLCs or relays, both in AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current). Connection Diagrams 2E2 PNP monitor They are monitors which have at the output stage a transistor whose function is to switch (on or off) the positive terminal of the supply. In this case, the loads should be connected from the negative pole of the power supply to the output that will provide the positive signal. 2N Namur monitor Similar to conventional monitors differing only by not having the output stage with a switching transistor, typically used in industries with potentially explosive atmospheres. The supply of the internal circuit of the monitor is obtained through a small current flowing in the load that generates a small voltage drop on the monitor. 2WA AC 2wire monitor They are twowire sensors for use in alternating current, to which the load should be connected in series with the monitor, also being supplied through a small current flowing in the load and generates a small voltage drop on the monitor. 6 Industrial Network Monitors Network monitors are perfect for valve automation as they allow through a single cable to transmit the open or closed state of the valve and receives the command to activate the solenoid valve, which if is low power it can be coupled to the network. They incorporate two monitors in one casing that detect metallic or magnetic actuators and transmit the open or closed valve signal. Another advantage of the network system is the possibility of the monitor to transmit the shortcircuit diagnosis in the solenoid and power supply voltage. Monitor Connection System All models feature solenoid output and are available with the following connection systems: Cable Connection In this version, the monitor has a connection cable for the network that transmits the open or closed position of the valve and receives the command for actuation of the solenoid and also a second cable, responsible for connecting the solenoid valve that will command the actuator to open or close the valve. Cable Gland and Cable Connection In this version, the monitor has a cable gland together with the connection cable for the network that transmits the open or closed position of the valve and receives the command for actuation of the solenoid and also a second cable, responsible for connecting the solenoid valve that will command the actuator to open or close the valve. 9 Other Products for Valve Monitoring M32 Double Monitor Available in two versions (conventional and for industrial networks), the monitors detect actuators positioned on the local visual signaller, whose function is to indicate the open or closed position of the valve and activate the monitor, which in the conventional version is based on the of the technology of the traditional proximity monitors, and in the version for industrial networks they have a network card incorporated that transmits the open or closed valve position, detected by its hall effect monitors, also actuating the external solenoid from the command received by the network. The monitor has a high degree of sealing, as it is impregnated with epoxy resin and has rubber orings.
