1 DENTAL UNIT AND CHAIR IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS This manual provides installation instructions for Belmont CP-ONE. The instructions contained in this booklet should be thoroughly read and understood before attempting installation of the system. After the installation is completed, file this manual and refer back to it for future maintenance.

5 . INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -. Pre-Installation Requirements --. General requirements ) The contractor is to supply the necessary service and materials to complete the installation of the satisfaction of the dentists and the installation engineer. ) This includes the supply and installation of the electric power supply cables with main isolating switch and fuses, air supply piping, water supply piping, suction piping including vacuum pump and its control wires and drain piping as noted on the installation diagrams. --. Setting requirements ) The CP-ONE dental unit comprises a Chair section, Cuspidor section, Doctor unit section and Light section. ) TheCP-ONE should be mounted taking the opening end of drain pipe into due consideration. Refer to Fig.--. ) The place on which the CP-ONE (approx. 0 kg) is set must have endurance force of 00kg/m. ) The setting position of the CP-ONE chair is shown in Fig.-- as recommended example. --. Piping and plumbing requirements ) All pipings and conduits for cables are to be laid down under the floor and to come out from the floor. ) The installation position and height from the floor of each pipe and cable conduit are shown in Fig.--. ) The recommended sizes, materials and end piece are shown in Table-. Air vacuum type does not require suction pipe, vacuum control wire and its conduit. ) Regarding installation of the vacuum pump and its connection to main suction line, follow the specifications of central vacuum pump system manufacture's recommendation. ) All Piping should be arranged avoiding bend as much as possible. --. Air supply requirements ) Compressed air to be supplied should be filte. Dirty and moistu air may cause trouble in unit air system. ) Air Pressure Regulate the outlet air pressure of the compressor to the utility section at Mpa (.0-.kg/cm ) and the air pressure should be kept higher than 0.9 Mpa (kg/cm ) at any time. ) Compressed Air Supply Capacity Compressed air supply capacity is at least l/min. (Central Vacuum type) Compressed air supply capacity is at least l/min. (Air vacuum type) --

6 --. Water supply requirements ) The supply water should be clean. Dirty water may cause trouble in unit water line. ) Water Pressure More than 0. Mpa (kg/cm ) water pressure in utility section is requi for operating unit efficiently at any time. --. Electric supply requirements ) The connection of power supply cable is to be carried out in accordance with the local electric regulation. ) Rating of supply voltage and power consumption 00/0/V Type Single Phase 0/0 Hz : 0 A 0/0/0V Type Single Phase 0/0 Hz : A ) Power supply line should be provided with fuses or circuit breaker in accordance with power consumption. ) The earth wire (ground wire) should be provided in the utility section. ) All cables should have at least 00mm surplus from the floor so that they are long enough to be connected with the terminals in the utility section. 8 -. Unpacking. Checking the packages and unpacking. The base mount type is to be delive into three packages. ( Chair section, Unit section and Dental Light ) The cart type is to be delive into four packages. ( Chair section, Cart section, Cuspidor Section and Dental Light ). Remove all the staples fixing carton to pallet, or cut the carton just above the stapled line, and remove the carton. -. Installation of Stop Valve. Confirm that the pipings and wirings are laid out in accordance with Fig.--.. Install water and air stop valves to each supply pipe. The direction of stop valves are shown in Fig.--.. After installation of the stop valves, open the valves and flush out dust and chips in the pipings. Note : Stop valves are packed in the unit section carton. Place the base section with pallet behind the planned location for chair.. Remove four wood screws from the base plate. Refer to Fig Remove the tagged fixing bolt from the link bracket by two socket head cup screws (M- /M0-). Refer to Fig Attach two carriage bars to chair base by eight hex head bolts (M-). 9 . Remove the base section from the pallet by holding the carriage bars, then place it at planned location. Do not damage the piping and wirings by the chair base. Do not lift the chair by upper structure after removing the tagged metal.. Remove two carriage bars from the chair base.. Remove the tagged oil plug from the oil reservoir.. Connect the power supply line wires to the electric terminal block number L and N. Refer to Fig.--. CAUTION 9. Connect the temporary jumper connector to number connector, then raise the chair upper structure to install unit section. Refer to Fig.--. Electric terminal L N 9 0 CAUTION Chair must be fixed to the floor with bolts to prevent from falling down. When fixing chair to the floor, be careful not to damage pipings under the floor. 10 . Remove hose bracket from the swing arm shaft. Refer to Fig.--.. Set flat washers, thrust bearings and the doctor table swing arm to the swing arm shaft on the chair base and fix them with ring nut.. Fix the hose bracket to swing arm shaft. Refer to Fig.--.. Remove the caspidor unit and assistant arm from the bracket on the pallet.. Fix the cuspidor unit to link bracket with three hex head screws (M-) and flat washer. Refer to Fig.--.. Fix the light post to link bracket with two hex head screws (M-0) and flat washer. Refer to Fig.--. 11 9. Fix the assistant arm to chair base plate with fixing bolt, flat washer, spring washer and DU thrust washer. Refer to Fig.--. Drain hose and vacuum hose ) Cut the drain hose and vacuum hose from cuspidor unit at suitable length and connect them to each elbow with plastic glue. ) Insert the drain hose elbow and vacuum hose elbow into each piping. Note ; Drain pipe should be sealed with silicon sealant or taping. -9A-

12 . Water and air supply lines connection. Refer to Fig.--. ) Bend the stainless steel flexible pipe at suitable angle for water line connection. ) Connect the water supply line to the water stop valve with stainless steel flexible pipe. ) Connect the air supply line to the air stop valve directly. 14 . Fix tubings from the doctor table to utility parts by two clamps with pan head screws (M-0). Refer to Fig.--.. Fix the base cover to chair base plate with two flat head screws (M-) and two flat head screws (M-). Refer to Fig --. Fix the inside cover and outside cover to caspidor frame with flat hesd screws(m-0) and caps.. Set the cupfiller nozzle, bowl flush nozzle and cup base to cuspidor top.. Set the paking to cuspidor bowl and screw it to the cuspidor top.. Set the drain cap, basket strainer and trap pipe in the centre of cuspidor bowl. 15 . Fix the j-box cover to cuspidor unit with a truss head scwer (M-0) and flat head screws (M-0 / M- with cap,cap base). Refer to Fig. --. Fix the headrest cushion to headrest bar with flat head screws (M-0).. Set two hooks to fixing holes of headrest cushion rear plate.. Insert two hooks into fixing hole of headrest cover.. Fix the backrest cushion to backrest support plate with four pan head screws (M-).. Insert upper two backrest cover hooks into upper fixing holes of backrest cushion.. Keep pressing the backrest, slide down the backrest cover so that lower two hooks catch the lower fixing holes. 16 . Insert two seat hooks into rear part of seat plate.. Insert two seat fixing screws into fixing hole of seat plate and fix it with two nuts (M). Refer to Fig Keep lifting up slide plate of footrest, fix footrest to slide plate. Pass the light cable through the horizontal arm and insert the light spigot into the horizontal arm and fix it with two button screws (M-). Refer to Fig Set the rubber cover to light pole and fix the pole to light post with two hex socket set screws. Refer to Fig Pass the light cable through light pole to light post bottom. Refer to Fig Set brake screws and stopper screw. 17 . Insert light cable pins into each connector in the cuspidor unit. Wire colours and connectors for connection are shown in Fig.-9-. Note ; Connectors are packed in the dental light carton box.. Connect P conector to the dental light P.C. Board in the cuspidor unit. Refer to Fig Conect P connector to the P connector in the cuspidor unit. Switching distance adjustment for dental light ) Dental light P.C.B. is located in the cuspidor unit. The switching distance can be adjusted by the potentiometer on the P.C.Borad. (Fig.-9-) ) Turning the potentiometer clockwise decreases the switching distance. (Switching point becomes closer to the sensor) ) Turning counter clockwise increases switching distance. 18 . ADJUSTMENT -. Doctor Table Rotation Adjustment. Refer to Fif.-- ) Loosen hex head screws under the control housing and remove control housing cover. ) Loosen lock nut on brake screw. ) Turning the brake screw counter clockwise decreases rotation friction of doctor table. ) Turning the brake screw clockwise increases rotation friction of doctor table. ) Tighten lock nut over brake screw after adjustment of the brake. Refer to Fig.--. ) Turning the potentiometer counter clockwise increases the switching distance. ) Turning the potentiometer clockwise decreases the switching distance.
