Concurrent Requirements To obtain maximum benefit of the software improvements, P&WC recommends that both engines are upgraded simultaneously. C. Reason (1) Problem There is an opportunity to upgrade the EEC with software improvements already implemented on the PW306D. (2) Cause The EEC software is not optimal for some for some functions. (3) Solution D. Description (a) Replace the EEC and the EDU with ones that feature modified software, as follows: v Aircraft identification lodgic update. v Delete N1/N2 sync select function. v EDU improved data collection. v Local PT/PAMB ration invalid event ration update. v Improve fault code detection and accommodation. v Update synthesized TT0. (b) The system component identification is also revised to identify configuration. Replace the EEC and EDU with new or modified ones. NOTE: E. No Accomplishment Instructions (Cont d) CAUTION: DO NOT SWITCH ON THE 28 VDC POWER SUPPLY TO THE EEC (LOCATED ON THE FIELD REPROGRAMMING UTILITY) BEFORE TURNING ON POWER TO THE IBM COMPATIBLE COMPUTER. FOLLOW THE SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS TO DETERMINE WHEN IT IS REQUIRED TO SWITCH ON THE 28 VDC POWER SUPPLY. (2) Reprogram the EEC to software P/N or P/N respectively, in accordance with the instructions in Hamilton Sundstrand SB EEC (3) Refer to Hamilton Sundstrand SB EEC for reidentification instructions. (4) The reprogrammed EEC must be identified by crossing out the old P&WC part number and the supplier part number. Refer to Para. 2.D., Reidentified Parts (Ref. SB25412). (5) Install and reconnect the new or modified EEC P/N (P&WC P/N 30B ) or P/N (P&WC P/N 30B ) respectively. F. Use the Hamilton Sundstrand Field Reprogramming Utility SB. (1) Set up the tools as described in the Hamilton Sundstrand SB EDS and EDS CAUTION: DO NOT SWITCH ON THE 28 VDC POWER SUPPLY TO THE EDU (LOCATED ON THE FIELD REPROGRAMMING UTILITY) BEFORE TURNING ON POWER TO THE IBM COMPATIBLE COMPUTER. FOLLOW THE SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS TO DETERMINE WHEN IT IS REQUIRED TO SWITCH ON THE 28 VDC POWER SUPPLY. (2) Reprogram the EDU to software P/N or P/N , in accordance with the instructions in Hamilton Sundstrand SB EDS (3) Refer to Hamilton Sundstrand SB EDS for reidentification instructions. (4) The reprogrammed EDU must be identified by crossing out the old P&WC part number and the supplier part number. Refer to Para. 2.D., Reidentified Parts (Ref. SB25412). (5) Install and reconnect the new or modified EDU P/N (P&WC P/N 30B ) or P/N (P&WC P/N 04R30B ) respectively. G.
