1 Caravan Service Bulletin June 25, 2007 TITLE FUEL CAPACITY PLACARD REPLACEMENT EFFECTIVITY This Service Bulletin is applicable only to airplanes equipped with placards that are written in English. The following airplanes were delivered from Cessna with S Fuel Capacity Placards installed: thru thru 1170 The following airplanes were delivered from Cessna with S Fuel Capacity Placards installed: thru thru 1234 Also affected are any of the following airplanes on which a replacement S or S Fuel Capacity Placard has been installed: thru thru 1234 PURPOSE To replace the fuel capacity placards with new placards installed on top of the wings next to the fuel filler caps. New correct S Placards have the words "Total Fuel Capacity" on them instead of the "Usable Fuel Capacity" words used on the previous S placards. 3 NOTE: Airplanes with an S Fuel Capacity Placard installed, go to Step (Airplanes with an S Fuel Capacity Placard installed) (Refer to Figure 1, Detail A.) Do an inspection of the S Fuel Capacity Placard on the left and the right wings as follows: A. Look at the words onthes fuelcapacityplacardtoseeiftheword"capacity"iswritten on it in the lower right corner. B. If the word "CAPACITY" is written on the S Fuel Capacity Placard, go to Step 3. C. If the word "CAPACITY" is not written on the S Fuel Capacity Placard, go to Step (Refer to Figure 1, Detail A.) Install the correct S Fuel Capacity Placard on the left and the right wings. A. Remove the S or incorrect S Fuel Capacity Placard from the left and the right wings. B. Clean areas where placard is to be installed with isopropyl alcohol. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Solvents, Sealants and Adhesives - Maintenance Practices.) C. Install the S Fuel Capacity Placards on the left and the right wings in the same position as the removed placards. D. Edge seal the placards with clear polyurethane enamel topcoat. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 20, Exterior Finish - Cleaning/Painting.) 3. Make sure that the applicable Pilot's Operating Handbook revision listed below is incorporated into the POH: SHP - D PH (or latest revision) SHP - D PH (or latest revision) 600 SHP - D PH (or latest revision) 675 SHP - D PH (or latest revision). 4. 5 CREDIT The S Placards are being sent at no charge to owners of record with the Owner Advisory for airplane serial numbers thru and 0972 thru For airplanes in warranty: a labor allowance credit of 0.5 man-hour per placard will be provided if it is necessary to remove the existing placard and install a new placard as described in this Service Bulletin. Freight will be credited at the most economical method unless pre-approved by Cessna. To receive credit, the work must be completed and a Warranty Claim submitted by a Cessna Caravan or Propjet Service Station within 30 calendar days of Service Bulletin compliance before the credit expiration dates shown below. Dear Caravan Owner: This Owner Advisory is to inform you that Service Bulletin has been issued and requires the replacement of the fuel capacity placards located on top of the wings next to the fuel filler caps. The new correct S placards have the words "Total Fuel Capacity" on them instead of the "Usable Fuel Capacity" words used on the previous S placards. The following airplanes were delivered from Cessna with S Fuel Capacity Placards installed: thru and 0972 thru The following airplanes were delivered from Cessna with S Fuel Capacity Placards installed: thru and 1171 thru 1234 Your airplane may also be affected if it has had a S or S spares replacement fuel capacity placard installed. Compliance is mandatory: shall be accomplished within the next 200 hours of operation or 6 months, whichever occurs first.
