The brake bleeder assembly has the potential to loosen allowing hydraulic fluid and nitrogen to exit the port. DESCRIPTION This service letter transmits Goodrich Service Bulletin , Main Landing Gear - Brake Assembly - P/N's And Cessna Citation Aircraft - Introduction Of A New Brake Assembly P/N COMPLIANCE MANDATORY. This service letter must be accomplished within 300 flight hours or 1 year from the date of receipt, whichever occurs first. (Refer to the Model 525 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 32, Brakes - Maintenance Practices.) 3. Record that this service letter has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Description This Service Bulletin gives a procedure to change the current brake assemblies, P/Ns and , to the configuration. E. Compliance Change to the new brake assembly is optional. F. Approval This Service Bulletin has Goodrich engineering approval and has Cessna engineering concurrence. The repairs and modifications herein comply with FAR Part 23 and are on record at the supplier as FAA approved for installation on the applicable Cessna Citation aircraft. G. Manpower No effect if the parts are replaced when the brake assembly is removed from the aircraft for a lining change or for some other cause. H. 6 3. Accomplishment Instructions A. If a brake assembly, P/N or , has four bleeder plugs, P/N MS24391D4L, ignore paragraph 3.B and go to paragraphs 3.C, 3.D, and 3.E. B. If a brake assembly, P/N or , has two bleeder screw assemblies, P/N , do the procedure that follows: (1) Remove and discard the two bleeder fittings, P/N , the two bleeder screws assemblies, P/N , and the preformed packings, P/N MS (2) Apply a thin layer of hydraulic fluid, MIL-PRF or MIL-PRF-87257, to two new preformed packings, P/N MS Install a new preformed packing on each of two new bleeder plugs, P/N MS24391D4L. (3) Install a bleeder plug in the piston housing in place of each bleeder fitting. Torque each bleeder plug to 75 pound-inches (8,5 Nm). (4) Assemble all other parts of the brake assembly as usual (refer to CMM ). (5) Lockwire each bleeder plug to the piston housing. C. Change the brake assembly part number on the piston housing as follows: (1) Obliterate the suffix "1" or "2" to make the part number read " " (2) Hammer stamp a suffix "3" to make the part number read " ". Hammer stamp with a 1/8 inch (3 mm) high character. (3) Apply conversion coat, primer, and paint to hammer-stamped areas on the piston housing (refer to the REPAIR section of CMM for the procedures). Remove the old identification plate, P/N or , and install a new identification plate, P/N , as follows: WARNING: BEFORE YOU USE DEGREASING SOLVENT (MIL-PRF-680 TYPE II OR III) OR CLEAR SEALANT, READ, UNDERSTAND, AND OBEY ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THESE MATERIALS. THESE INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE MANUFACTURER, THE MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET (MSDS), AND GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS. THESE MATERIALS MAY CAUSE INJURY TO YOU OR MAKE YOU SICK WHEN SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT OBEYED. AN MSDS GIVES INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO SAFELY USE, KEEP, AND DISCARD THESE MATERIALS. GET INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR EMPLOYER ON HOW TO SAFELY USE, KEEP, AND DISCARD THESE MATERIALS. (1) Use solvent (MIL-PRF-680 Type II or III) to clean the area on the piston housing assembly for the new identification plate, P/N CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE ADHESIVE WITH YOUR FINGERS. CONTAMINATION OF THE ADHESIVE ON THE IDENTIFICATION PLATE CAN CAUSE IT TO COME OFF. (2) Hold the identification plate on a flat surface and remove the paper on the back of the plate. Do not bend the identification plate and hold it only at the edges. (3) Install the center of the identification plate and push to the outer edges. Use a hand roller and roll on the full surface of the identification plate. NOTE: Replace an identification plate that is wrinkled or creased during the installation. (4) Let the identification plate set for 24 hours to let the adhesive become hard. (5) Use a clean cloth that is moist with the solvent (MIL-PRF-680 Type II or III) to clean the identification plate and adjacent areas. (6) Mix the clear sealant (Bostik Base and Catalyst X-310-A) (refer to instructions from manufacturer shown in Figure 1). (7) Apply the sealant on and around the edges of the identification plate. Let the sealant dry. E. If the bleeder plugs are replaced and no other brake maintenance is done, bleed the brake system (refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual). Issued: Jul 3/08 Page 5 of 6

8 If the plugs are replaced and other brake maintenance is done, bleed the brake assembly and do a functional test (refer to the TEST AND FAULT ISOLATION section of the CMM ).
