1 Citation Mustang Throttle Lever Rigging TLA Rigging Guide

2 This guide is designed to assist maintenance and avionics technicians in using the Pratt & Whitney Ground Based Software or GBS to rig the throttle levers on the Cessna Citation Mustang. The GBS system is sometimes referred to as DPHM which stands for Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management. In this document it will be referred to as GBS. For further information concerning the purchase or subscription of the GBS equipment see the latest revision of P&WC Service Information Letter S.I.L. PW

3 Caution This document is supplemental information only, and not technical approved data. It does not replace the Cessna Citation Mustang Maintenance Manual or the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F-A Line Maintenance Manual.

4 Abbreviations CDMS= Citation Diagnostics Maintenance System (onboard diagnostics) DPHM= Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management EEC= Electronic Engine Control FADEC= Full Authority Digital Engine Control GBS= Ground Based Software TLA= Throttle Lever Angle

5 TLA Rigging Notes Ensure that the fuel boost switches are in the off position before moving throttles. On each screen the throttle lever angle will be displayed real time. Move the throttle through the range and record in the chart. In the above example the cruise detent is out of spec by degrees and degrees respectively. A TLA trim of would be a good starting point to change to. Remember that the value you put in changes all the values for a given channel. The maximum value allowed to be inputted is 5 degrees.

6 Turn battery power and avionics power on.

7 When the Splash Screen displays on the MFD, push the softkey on the right as indicated.

8 Ensure that the system is in the AUX page.

9 Locate the FMS knob on the pedestal. There is a lower large knob, and upper small knob.

10 Rotate the little FMS knob until the last box is highlighted in cyan (CDMS index).

11 Push the FMS knob down. The left column will start blinking white with a cursor.

12 Rotate the small FMS knob to the right to drop down the menu.

13 Scroll down to Chapter 76 Engine Controls. Select the enter button on the FMS pad.

14 Note ATA Chapter 76 in left column, Main Group Pratt FADEC in center column, and Main Engine- L FADEC A Status in right column.

15 Note the TLA in degrees at the lower part of the page. Move the throttle through its range and record the values in the rigging chart.

16 Rotate the large FMS knob to the right until the sub group is highlighted. Rotate the small FMS knob to drop down the menu.

17 Scroll down to Main Engine and L FADEC B Status. Select the enter button on the FMS pad.

18 Note the TLA in degrees at the lower part of the page. Move the throttle through its range and record the values in the rigging chart.

19 Rotate the small FMS knob to drop down the menu. Scroll down to Main Engine and R FADEC A Status. Select the enter button on the FMS pad.

20 Note the TLA in degrees at the lower part of the page. Move the throttle through its range and record the values in the rigging chart.

21 Rotate the small FMS knob to drop down the menu. Scroll down to Main Engine and R FADEC B Status. Select the enter button on the FMS pad.

22 Note the TLA in degrees at the lower part of the page. Move the throttle through its range and record the values in the rigging chart.

23 If TLA is out of range then adjust using the GBS kit.

24 GBS kit P/N consists of the following: 1) PWC69317 Download Cable Assembly 2) PWC90191 RS232-USB Adapter and Cable 3) CD containing the drivers for the RS232-USB adapter 4) CD containing the following software: a. GBS Transfer Module b. GBS Diagnostic Module (GBSLite) c. Interactive Engine Technical Manual (IETM)

25 Make sure that the maintenance switch is in the true position before connecting to the aircraft.

26 Connect the cable- pull the carpet up at the back of the drop aisle in the aft cabin.

27 Select desired channel.

28 Make certain that the engine sync switch is off.

29 Connect the cable to the laptop computer through the serial port. If the computer does not have a serial port, then use the adapter to connect to the USB port. The driver from the CD must be installed before using the adapter.

30 Turn battery power on, avionics is not necessary.

31 Open the GBSLite program. The first screen is referred to as the Express Screen.

32 Click the Transfer Module button.

33 Place PW615F in the window. Then select Download/Upload Program.

34 Select Auto in the first window. Then close this screen.

35 Choose PW615F in the upper left window.

36 To adjust the TLA trim, select choice 2- Trim / Upload.

37 Input the required value in the TLA Trim white box. See Notes for example.

38 After inputting a new value, select the Write button.

39 It will ask if you want to overwrite the data. Select Yes.

40 Click on the Close button to return to the Express Screen.

41 Select Trim / Upload again. Verify that the trim values have remained in the memory.

42 Final TLA Rigging After changing the TLA trim, it must be verified. Enter the CDMS system and record the new values in the rigging chart. Ensure that the values are in range.
