1 PASSENGER COMPARTMENT 1. DESCRIPTION This section covers the passenger compartment lighting. A. Passenger Eyeball Lights Individual eyeball-type reading lights are installed in the headliner above each passenger position. Each light is aimed by positioning the lens in the socket and is controlled by a push-button switch located next to the light. Serials 1005 & subs w/o Perspective Avionics: The lights are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 3-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 2. Serials 2016 & subs w/ Perspective Avionics: The lights are powered by 28 VDC supplied through the 5-amp CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker on Main Bus 1. B. Interior Footwell Lighting - Serials 2303 & subs w/ Convenience Lighting LED light assemblies are installed in the LH and RH rear cabin side trim panels and the aft console rear cover and are controlled via wireless keyfob or cabin light switch located on the cabin headliner. When the switch is in the AUTO position, the interior footwell lighting turns on when either cabin door is opened or the doors are unlocked via the wireless keyfob and turns off when both doors are closed or the doors are locked via the wireless keyfob. 28 VDC for the convenience light operation is supplied through the 3-amp CONV LIGHTS circuit breaker on the CONS Bus. 2 2. TROUBLESHOOTING Trouble Probable Cause Remedy Reading lights inoperative. BAT 1 switch in OFF position. Set BAT 1 switch to ON position. Dimmer switch in OFF position. Defective bulb. Circuit breaker or switch tripped. Circuit breaker switch defective. Loose electrical connection. Defective power supply. Battery defective. Set dimmer switch to ON position. Replace bulb. Reset circuit breaker. Inspect for short circuit. Check switch for continuity. Replace if defective. Tighten electrical connection. Replace power supply. Replace battery. Page 2 15 Jun 2010
3 3. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES A. Passenger Eyeball Lights (1) Removal - Passenger Eyeball Light and Switch (a) Pull CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker. (b) Remove cabin headliner. (Refer to 25-10) (c) Disconnect eyeball light and switch wire harnesses. (d) Depress mounting tabs and remove eyeball light and switch from headliner. (2) Installation - Passenger Eyeball Light and Switch (a) Depress mounting tabs and install eyeball light and switch to headliner. (b) Connect eyeball light and switch wire harnesses. (c) Install cabin headliner. (Refer to 25-10) (d) Reset CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker. (e) Verify proper operation of light and switch. Page 3 15 Jun 2010
4 B. Bulb Replacement CAUTION: Always wear clean cotton gloves when working with bulbs. Never allow glass portion of bulb to come into contact with exposed skin. Oils from the exposed skin will cause premature bulb failure. (1) Removal - Passenger Eyeball Light Bulb (a) Pull CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker. (b) Remove cabin headliner. (Refer to 25-10) (c) Rotate bulb and pull to remove bulb from socket. (2) Installation - Passenger Eyeball Light Bulb (a) Position bulb to socket and rotate to secure. (b) Install cabin headliner. (Refer to 25-10) (c) Reset the CABIN LIGHTS circuit breaker. (d) Verify proper operation of light. Page 4 15 Jun 2010

Interior Footwell Lighting - Serials 2303 & subs w/ Convenience Lighting (See Figure 1) (1) Removal - Interior Footwell Lighting - Rear Cabin Side Trim (a) Set BAT 1, BAT 2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions. (b) Pull CONV LIGHTS circuit breaker. (c) Remove rear cabin side trim. (Refer to 25-10) (d) Remove nut securing LED lampholder to rear cabin side trim. (e) Unscrew LED from LED lampholder and remove from airplane. (2) Installation - Interior Footwell Lighting - Rear Cabin Side Trim (a) Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Description P/N or Spec. Supplier Purpose Loctite 242 Any Source. LED assembly installation. (b) Apply Loctite to threads of LED lampholder. (c) Secure LED lampholder to rear cabin side trim with nut. (d) Apply Loctite to threads of LED. (e) Screw LED into LED lampholder. (f) Install rear cabin side trim. (Refer to 25-10) (g) Reset CONV lights circuit breaker. (h) Verify proper operation of light. (3) Removal - Interior Footwell Lighting - Aft Console Rear Cover (a) Set BAT 1, BAT 2, and AVIONICS switches to OFF positions. (b) Pull CONV LIGHTS circuit breaker. (c) Open center console armrest and remove glove box. (Refer to 25-10) (d) Disconnect LED light assembly from wire harness. (e) Remove nut securing LED lampholder to aft console rear cover. (f) Unscrew LED from LED lampholder and remove from airplane. (4) Installation - Interior Footwell Lighting - Aft Console Rear Cover (a) Acquire necessary tools, equipment, and supplies. Description P/N or Spec. Supplier Purpose Loctite 242 Any Source. LED assembly installation. (b) Apply Loctite to threads of LED lampholder. (c) Secure LED lampholder to aft console rear cover with nut. (d) Apply Loctite to threads of LED. (e) Screw LED into LED lampholder. (f) Connect LED light assembly to wire harness.
