Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing. 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working. 2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY (a) Release the 2 knobs and remove the rear floor carpet. 3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (a) Remove the rear deck floor box. 4. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH

REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH (a) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip. 18. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 19. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER (a) Disengage the 4 clips, 4 claws and 2 guides and remove the rear deck trim cover.

REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK HINGE Use the same procedure for both sides. (a) Remove the bolt and rear seat back hinge. 22. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (a) Remove the belt from the rear seat shoulder belt hanger. (b) Remove the bolt and floor anchor. 23. REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
6 6 of 18 2/28/ :41 AM 24. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH (a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip. (b) Disengage the 6 clips and 7 claws and remove the deck trim side panel. 25. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip. (b) Disengage the 6 clips and 7 claws and remove the deck trim side panel. (c) Disconnect the luggage compartment light connector.
7 7 of 18 2/28/ :41 AM 26. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH (a) Using a clip remover, remove the clip. (b) Disengage the 7 clips and remove the roof side inner garnish. (c) Pass the rear seat outer belt through the slit in the roof side inner garnish. 27. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 28. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP Use the same procedure for both sides. (a) Pull portion A, shown in the illustration, toward you, remove the 2 claws on the lower side followed by the claw on the upper side. Then remove the seat belt anchor cover cap. 29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH (a) Disengage the 2 clips, 3 claws and guide and remove the center pillar lower garnish. 32. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 33. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH (a) Disengage the 2 clips and guide and remove the center pillar upper garnish.

REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH NOTICE: Install a protective cover onto the curtain shield airbag as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed. Replace the front pillar garnish clip with a new one when the front pillar garnish is removed. (a) Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides and remove the front pillar garnish. (b) Completely cover the curtain shield airbag with a piece of cloth or nylon and fix the ends of the protective cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration. Protective cover size: AREA MEASUREMENT a b 700 mm (27.56 in.) 120 mm (4.72 in.) 36. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers. (b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip. 38. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH (a) Using a screwdriver, with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor cover.
11 11 of 18 2/28/ :41 AM (b) Remove the visor shaft from the visor holder. (c) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the visor. 39. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH 40. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER (a) Turn the visor holder approximately 45 and pull it out as shown in the illustration. (b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the visor holder. 41. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(b) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 room light covers. (c) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the room light.

(e) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the room light switch base. 42. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the map light. (b) Disconnect the map light connector. 43. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 44. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER PANEL 45. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 46. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(b) Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 clamps. (c) Disconnect the roof wire connector. (d) Disconnect the roof wire from the harness clamp. (e) Using a clip remover, disengage the 5 clamps.
