4 LakeFest 2017 The LakeFest 2017 Schedule is as follows: Friday, June 16th Storm Lake United KickOff Concert at Lake Avenue Lounge - 7:00pm 11pm featuring the Outlaw Road Band - Free Admission Saturday, June 17th Ride for the Cure Tractor Ride - 8:30 am - entertainment includes a comedian at the Sunset Park Bandshell beginning at 10:30am - Contact: Michelle Mattson // LakeFest Concert - Gates open on the Great Lawn at 5:30pm. 5 Membership Spotlight! Vista Paints May 2017 Membership Spotlight Vista Paints For the month of May, Storm Lake United is pleased to feature Vista Paints in our membership spotlight. Tony Buchholz is the owner and operator of Vista Paints. Vista Paints specializes in creating their own paint, stain, and varnish. The store also carries other supplies you might need for your home improvement project. Vista Paints also does custom color matching for customers. Tony grew up in Newell, Iowa and began his career in paint during his time at Buena Vista University. He purchased the business in 2008 and then his son, Chad, began working for him once he graduated as well. Now they are a father son duo that continues to make their own paint, stain, and varnish. 6 Star Spangled Spectacular It s time to start thinking about the summer months when it s warm, sunny, and full of fun! Star Spangled Spectacular will be all of that! This year s theme is Star Spangled Salute. You can now register for the Parade that will take place on the 4th of July. Be sure to fill the form out entirely and be specific about your parade entries. 7 Storm Lake Whitecaps Introducing the Storm Lake Whitecaps, one of the five teams in the Pioneer Collegiate Baseball League. PCLB is America s newest wood bat collegiate summer league. The league consists of players who are typically enrolled in college during the academic year, have NCAA eligibility and give the them the ability to compete at some of the greatest programs across the Midwest. It provides for the players to continue to work on their skills, use wood bats, and create a fan base. Below you will find your Storm Lake Whitecaps schedule. 8 Storm Lake Farmers Market We are excited to announce the 2017 Storm Lake Farmers' Market dates! Saturday markets (8 am - noon) will begin on June 3 and continue through October 14. Thursday markets (4-6 pm) will begin early this year on June 29 and continue through October 12. The market will continue to be held on the courthouse lawn.
