5 The PMC Group has its roots in old-established Nordic engineering industry. Modern thinking and state-of-the-art technology in hydraulics and automation have led to our products and systems being used in mobile plant, in manufacturing industry and in the offshore/marine and energy sectors. Nordic manufacturing has always had a reputation for top quality. Starting with ore mined from Scandinavian rock and refined to steel and other metals, and following up with pioneering innovations, the Nordic manufacturing industries have racked up huge export successes over the years. Ingenious and dependable designs and systems are the result of a long and distinguished engineering tradition. The companies in the PMC Group have been making hydraulic cylinders and components since the 1950s, acquiring experience that has benefited many industrial operators in the meantime. From hydraulic cylinders to complete systems From the smallest to the largest hydraulic cylinders. For all environments, such as stainless and acid-proof steel cylinders, and for both mobile and stationary applications. We make customised hydraulic cylinders in our six factories, and also offer a wide standard range of hydraulic cylinders and components. In collaboration with our customers we develop, design and build complete hydraulic systems for all needs. We specialise in advanced, unique systems that call for high precision or high operating pressures. We assume responsibility all the way to a fully functional solution complete with control and regulating systems, including installation. We frequently deliver turnkey systems in which it is natural to include a service and maintenance contract, to eliminate needless and expensive stoppages in production. We have well-trained personnel, and keep necessary spare parts in stock. This photo, taken in the early forties, shows the interior of our original factory in Vaggeryd in southern Sweden. Now it is a part of the present-day PMC Cylinders. Container spreader an example of a complete hydraulic system utilising the latest technology. Cranes and stonecrushers were manufactured on these premises when the company started operations in 1870 at Hällaryd in southern Sweden. The forge later became a highly successful producer of sawmill equipment. The site has now been extended and adapted for modoern production of cylinders with diameters of up to 800 mm and strokes of up to 15 metres the largest cylinders made anywhere in Northern Europe. 5

7 The sea is one of the toughest production environments on earth. Hydraulic cylinders and systems from PMC are installed both above and below the surface on oil rigs, ships and ferries. The PMC Group can offer everything from acid-proof and stainless-steel hydraulic cylinders to complete systems and power packs that can withstand aggressive environments. 11 Most trucks and other items of mobile applications are equipped with hydraulic systems. In collaboration with our customers we develop and customise reliable, functional systems for which we take full responsibility. Our hydraulic cylinders and systems are used in mobile applications by world-leading manufacturer of heavy plant and work vehicles, as well as in material-handling equipment manufactured by our customers. We also develop fork spreader and sideshift systems for forklift trucks with capacities of 1 16 tons. To satisfy demands for environment-friendliness, cost optimisation, low weight and compact size, hydraulic valve systems are usually integrated into blocks.
