5 Section 1 1 Name 2 Commencement This is the Biosecurity (Methods of Ballast Water Management) Approval (1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms. Commencement information Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Provisions Commencement Date/Details 1. The whole of this instrument At the same time as section 3 of the Biosecurity Act 2015 commences. Note: This table relates only to the provisions of this instrument as originally made. It will not be amended to deal with any later amendments of this instrument. 3 Authority (2) Any information in column 3 of the table is not part of this instrument. Information may be inserted in this column, or information in it may be edited, in any published version of this instrument. This instrument is made under subsection 274(1) of the Biosecurity Act Approved methods of ballast water management The methods of ballast water management specified in the following table are approved. Note 1: Note 2: The methods specified in the following table have been approved by a foreign country in accordance with the Ballast Water Convention as if it were in force for the foreign country. The Director of Biosecurity is satisfied that any ballast water discharged using these methods meets the standard referred to in regulation D-2 of the Ballast Water Convention (see subsection 274(2) of the Biosecurity Act 2015 and section 66 of the Biosecurity Regulation 2016).
