1 H.D. Hitch Frame and Draw Bar Kit Workman Vehicles Model No and Up Safety and Instruction Decals Form No Installation Instructions Hot surface/burn hazard stay a safe distance from the hot surface. Installing the H.D. Hitch frame and Draw Bar Kit. If a / or Full Size Bed is installed on vehicle, it must be removed as follows: A. With bed lowered, remove clevis pins and lynch pins securing each cylinder rod end to bed mounting plates (Fig. ).. Vehicle frame channel. Pivot plate Figure Full Bed Shown. Clevis pin. Lynch pin C. Carefully remove bed from vehicle frame. Caution The bed and its accessories may weigh in excess of 00 pounds, so do not try to install or remove it by yourself. 2 Steps and 8 only pertain to vehicles with serial numbers and up.. Remove the clamp securing the hoses to the R.H. rear frame rail (Fig. ). 6. Remove the quick coupler fittings and the 90 fittings from the rear hydraulic hoses (Fig. 5). 7. Install a new 5 fitting to each of the rear hydraulic hoses and re install the quick coupler fittings (Fig. 5). Note: Make sure the O rings are positioned in the fittings. 8. Mount the hydraulic quick couplers to the quick coupler bracket and connect the hydraulic hoses (Fig. 5).. Clamp Figure. Disconnect and remove the hydraulic quick couplers from the quick coupler bracket at the rear of the vehicle (Fig. ). Note the position of the hoses in the quick coupler bracket.. Remove the () capscrews and lock nuts securing the quick coupler bracket to the vehicle frame tube (Fig. ).. Quick coupler bracket. Hoses Figure 5. Wire tie. Rear frame tube 9. Secure the hoses, unclamped in step, to the rear frame tube with a wire tie (Fig. 5). 0. Position hitch frame assembly onto vehicle frame, aligning holes in rear mounting brackets with holes in each side of frame (Fig. 6).. Secure each side of hitch frame to rear of vehicle frame with a clevis pin and two lynch pins (Fig. 6).. Quick coupler bracket Figure 5. 3 . Remove two flange head capscrews and flange locknuts securing rear of each engine frame mounting bracket to each side of vehicle frame (Fig. 7). 6. Slide slots on bottom of draw bar assembly onto capscrews as shown in Figure 9. Pivot draw bar assembly upward and align top holes with holes in hitch assembly. Secure draw bar assembly to hitch assembly with two / x inch large and locknuts. Tighten all fasteners.. Engine frame mounting bracket Figure 7. Vehicle frame. Attachment bracket. Loosely secure a attachment bracket to each engine frame mounting bracket and vehicle frame with two flange head capscrews and flange locknuts previously removed (Fig. 7).. Loosely secure top of each attachment bracket to tab on each side of hitch frame with a / x -/ inch large capscrews two flatwashers and locknuts (Fig. 7). Tighten all fasteners. 5. Insert a / x inch large capscrew and flatwasher thru holes in each side of hitch assembly as shown in Figure 8. Partially thread a locknut onto end of capscrew. Do not tighten. Capscrew heads to be positioned on inside on both sides.. Draw bar Figure 9 Note: Steps 7 & 8 are performed on / beds only. 7. Remove capscrews and locknuts securing spacer brackets to front of R.H. and L.H. bed frame channels (Fig. 0). Retain screws for later use.. Spacer bracket Figure 0 / Bed Only. Hitch assembly. 4 8. Mount new spacer brackets to front of R.H. and L.H. bed frame channels with three capscrews and /8 inch locknuts. Position brackets on channel as shown in Figure.. Remove capscrews and locknuts securing each set of rear pivot plates and pivot tube to right and left bed frame channels (Fig. ). / Bed Shown Figure. Left rear corner of bed. Pivot bracket Full Bed Shown Figure. Left rear corner of bed. Pivot bracket. Install bed to vehicle by reversing step. Rear of bed is now secured to rear of hitch assembly (Fig. 5). 0. Loosely mount each set of new rear pivot plates to right and left bed frame channels with three /8 x -/ inch large capscrews and locknuts (Fig. ). Position brackets rearward on full bed as shown in Figure, and forward on / bed as shown in Figure. Figure 5 Full Bed Shown
