2 AMO Series Quantitative Pressured Centralized Lubricating System This system consists of AMO motor driven gear pump and MO series thin oil quantitative distributor to form the quantitative pressured centralized lubricating system that the lubricating pump delivers pressure oil to drive piston in the distributor to quantitatively force oil onto each lubricating point. The system has pressure switch that can monitor and control system pressure lost and cutout. This system, according to actual oil consumption of each lubricating point, will select matching distributor and couplings, which can be series or parallel connected, with free installation and convenience, suitable for multi point lubrication, long range piping, overhang piping, precise and intermittent oiling in large and media machinery equipments.. 5 4. Performance and Features of AMO Motor Driven Lubricating Pump 4.1 Motor drives the gear pump to deliver oil to all distributors of the system. 4.2 Pressure-regulating valve used to adjust work pressure of the lubricating pump and to return of control overload pressure oil so that to protect the pump safety. 4.3 Pressure switch: within the setup running time, the oil pump controller (or PLC) will collect the pressure switch signal so as to monitor cutout and pressure lost in the lubricating system (no pressure when oil pump discharging, direct flow of distributor, and oil leak in main oil pipe.) 4.4 Auto pressure-release valve: when oil pump stops to work, the pressure-release valve will start automatically to return the pressure oil in the main oil pipe back to oil tank so to make the system release pressure (the piston of distributor restores and starts to measure). 4.5 Circuit breaker: when oil pump is of current overflow, the circuit breaker will cut off source power (tube-shape breaker, AC220V/1A, AC110V/1.5A) so to protect pump safety. 4.6 Over temperature protector: the motor is equipped with built-up temperature protector that will blow off when the motor is over temperature and will automatically switch on when temperature is restored normal, so to secure motor safety. 4.7 Low oil level switch: there is low oil level switch setup in the barrel of the lubricating pump, to monitor low oil level signal output. 2. MO type pressured thin oil quantitative distributor This is type of direct-pressured distributor, which has displacement of 0.05~0.5ml/stroke, with five specifications that can be selected according to necessary quantity of each lubricating point. 2.1 Specifications and technical parameters Model Item Series No Symbol Nominal Displacement ml/cy Pressure Mpa Restore Pressure MPa Oil outlet pipe 4

6 2.2 Working principle of MO type pressured quantitative distributor Distributor period Oil pump run Stup Pump stqaurt run Pressure up Pressuring Piston to upmost Pressure end Pump stop System pressure down Piston restore Action finish Pressuring Oil store chamber (upper) Filling chamber (low chamber) Discharging Filling Finish Finish Measuring 1. Discharge tank End measuring 2. In filling and discharging 3. End of filling and discharging 4. In measuring (system de-pressure, Piston restored) The pressured lubricating oil, coming from oil pump, will flow into the distributor to force the miter valve in the distributor to push up. When the miter valve blocks the center hole of valve stem, the pressure oil will, putting up with spring force, gradually push the piston up and at the same time gradually discharge the oil stored in upper chamber. When pressure oil gradually pushing the piston to the end point in the upper chamber, the oil stored last time in the upper chamber is also completely discharged, and the system pressure goes up gradually to rated work pressure. When oil pump stops delivery oil, the pressure-release valve will automatically open so to return the pressure oil through pressure-release valve, and the system pressure drops down at this time, and the piston, under the pressure of spring, will restore. When the miter valve restores to block the oil inlet of the distributor, then the piston will push oil in the lower chamber through the hole of the valve stem to the upper chamber, measuring and preparing for next oil delivery.

7 3. System Work Principle Oil pump starts and main oil line gradually pressure up deliver oil to distributor pressure oil in lower chamber of the distributor will gradually, overcoming the force of spring, push the piston up, and at the same time gradually discharge (exhaust) the quantitative oil last time measured and stored in the upper chamber pistons of all distributors in the system go to its end point that the charge and discharge of oil complete. Oil pump work pressure then goes up to 2.0MPa (if oil pump continue to work, the pressure oil will return to oil tank through the pressureregulating valve.) the oil pump stops work oil pump pressure-release valve automatically opens pressure oil in main oil line will return and pressure reduce gradually, the distributor piston, with the force of spring, will begin to restore. And when the miter valve blocks the oil inlet of the distributor, the oil stored in the lower chamber will be pressed, through hole of the valve stem, into the upper chamber the system pressure will reduce to 0.5MPa or to zero position and piston restores to its original, the distributor finishes measuring and at the same time completes its oil storage preparing oil delivery for next cycle. Note: within the system oil delivery cycle time, the MO type distributor can only act once, that is, to deliver oil to each lubricating point once time. 4. Oil Delivery Cycle Time of the Lubricating System The oil delivery cycle time (the time between the lubricating pump starts and stops running) is decided according to the necessary oil quantity on each lubricating point. Please refer to AMO centralized thin oil lubricating system for selection and calculation. If no calculation, the following method is suggested to use (during the debugging of the lubricating system). 4.1 The determination of the run time of the lubricating system (system oil deliver time): oil pump starts to run and the system pressure gradually goes up, and when system pressure is up to 2MPa and keeps for 5-10 seconds, which is the time the system needs for oil delivery. 4.2 The determination of the least stop time of the system: the oil pump stops work and pressure on the gage reduce to zero and keeps for 2min, which is the least stop time for the system oil pump. If the run time is set up too long, then when the distributor completes discharge of oil, the system pressure will rise to 2.0MPa and then the redundant pressure oil will return through the pressure-regulating valve. If the run time is set up too short, then the system pressure cannot be established and the lubricating system will be in abnormal working state (system pressure lost). Therefore, only reasonable system oil deliver time and stop time can guarantee normal working of the lubricating system and full lubricating of each lubrication point. Note: this oil pump motor is only suitable for intermittent operation, so long time continuous running or too short of intermittent stop time will lead damage to oil pump motor. Care must be taken when setting up the oil pump running time that the longest continuous running time shall not exceed than 2min and that the shortest intermittent stop time shall not be less than 2min.

8 5. Installation of lubricating Components 5.1 Installation of oil pump, distributor, and couplings: The lubricating pump shall be setup steady and vertically in place that has less environmental contamination and place that is easy for oiling and maintenance and viewing. Work temperature: -20 ~ The lubricating pump shall be installed in the center of the system so as to make system piping as shot as possible to spare piping and reduce system pressure lost Filter is generally installed between pump and the first set of couplings The distributor and couplings shall be installed in place that is easy for installation, operation, maintenance, and observation (can be integrate, horizontal, or reversal installed) Selection of system oil pipe: the main oil line shall use 61 nylon pipe, copper pipe or bright copper pipe (nitrogen protected anneal copper pipe); the moving portion shall use rubber hose with protecting shield; manifold pipe shall use 4 steel tube, copper pipe, lead tube or nylon pipe (main oil line refers to connection between pump and couplings, and the manifold oil line refers to connections between distributors and lubricating points.) 5.2 Piping installation of the lubricating system: Layout and configuration of main oil line and manifold piping shall be short and compact so to avoid too many turns (if turning, no fold or flat allowed. The least turning radius shall be 10D), so as to reduce system pressure lost and to ensure smooth flow Shield rubber hose or nylon tube shall be slightly loosen when used in straight line. If the moving portion shall be turned then it must be larger than specified value. And the hose shall not be over distorted The oil pipe should be cut into right angle by using pipe cutter. Not to make the pipe end cracked or scratched, not even make it squashed or broken off It is required that, before assembling of the pipes, all chips and dirt in or outside the pipe must be removed and keep the pipes clean All pipes and tubes must be fixed with clips to prevent vibration. The locking methods of sleeve joints Bush the joint onto the oil pipe, and then put on the double tapered cutting sleeve (if nylon, then put the tube sleeve into inner wall of the nylon pipe). The end of pipe should exceed 2~3mm out of the sleeve. Put it into the joint and tighten it when the pipe end is close to the upper of the joint. 9 6. Notice to Operation and Debugging 6.1 The power connection must be tightened and in good condition to ensure security. 6.2 The rated work pressure for the lubricating pump is 2.0MPa (factory set: 2.0MPa) and it does not allow adjusting the pressure-regulating vale without permission. 6.3 The viscosity of the medium oil: for cSt, please refer to appendix table. It is suggested that use N32# guide way oil or mechanical oil for temperature below 0, N32#~N100# guide way oil or mechanical oil for temperature 1 ~20, and N100#~N200# guide way oil or mechanical oil for temperature above 21. Guide way oil: GB/Y Mechanical oil: GB/ It is strictly forbid to use lubricating oil containing water and abrasive (the lubricating oil containing water will lead damage and trouble to the system lubricating units because of component rusty if the system is idle for long time. And it is easy for oil containing abrasive to block the system filter. ) 6.4 For initial starting: start the oil pump and full fill the main pipe loose the closing screw of the end joint in the system drain the oil from the hole of the screw (to exhaust the bubble and foreign matters) check to see if there is bubble in the oil discharged, restore and tighten the screw the system pressure rises up to 2MPa (on the gauge), and keeps for 5~10seconds cut off the power and the pump stops the system pressure drops to 0 level then start the pump again to deliver oil the pump work pressure goes up to 2MPa observe each distributor, and connect the distributor to the bypass tube and tighten the joint when oil discharge is normal conduct the operation for several times to make all the bypass tubes drain oil, no bubble in the oil connect each lubricating point set the delivery cycle time for automatic oil supplying (refer to Article 4 ) 6.5 Check to ensure there is no leakage at each connection. Tighten if there is leakage (look or touch each connection with finger). Note: a. If there is leakage at the joint between the main pipes, then the system pressure cannot be built up and therefore, to lead the distributor not smoothly discharge or not discharge at all. b. If there is leakage at the joint between distributor and the manifold, the air will penetrate into the tube so to lead leakage of lubricating oil from manifold. 6.6 No low level operation allowed, avoiding oil pump trouble or bubble in the oil discharged. Immediately add the specified oil when the low oil level switch sending signal. 7. Settings And Operation Of Control System Of AMO Lubricating Pump For determination of the lubricating system oil delivery cycle, the pump running time and stop time, please refer to Article AMO-II-150S series lubricating pump consists of master PLC control, which are two types of with touch-start button and without touch-start button.
