REFURBISH BROMMA SPREADER REFURBISHMENT OF BROMMA YSX40E GENERATION II WITH SIDE SHIFT ALL ELECTRIC TELESCOPIC SPREADERS 1 SCOPE OF WORK The work to be done is repairs, restoration/refurbishment, testing and commissioning of Bromma YSX40E Generation II all electric telescopic spreaders with side shift. 1.1 Transportation and Site Establishment Transportation from and to the Pier 1 Container Terminal of the spreader to be refurbished to be provided by the contractor Transportation as needed for sub-contract work such as painting to be provided by the contractor. 1.2 Structural repairs All critical areas on the spreaders will be tested for cracks using dye penetrant of magnetic particle NDT methods The findings of these examinations will be included in the documentation to be submitted for each spreader. 1.3 Disassembly of spreaders Complete disassembly the spreaders will be done for purposes of replacing, painting and inspection of all parts. 1.4 Painting and Corrosion Protection The spreader shall be blasted, primed and painted in accordance with TPT specifications HE9/2/8 1.5 The following items should be allowed for on the basis that certain items will be considered mandatory for replacement, and others will be inspected and replaced or repaired as necessary. 1.6 The inspection process shall be transparent, and TPT shall be consulted for the replace/ repair decision. The decision to repair will only be considered where there is confidence that the item can be restored to an "as new" condition, and/ or the action of repairing will not affect the reliability of the spreader in any way Structural system Mandatory items - IF DAMAGED Replace tension rod runner rails (left and right) and respective cross beams if bent / damaged Repair tension rod clevises Repair gable end / tension rod connection clevises. Note - new pins and respective keeper plates should be supplied Inspect and replace or repair as necessary Lifting lugs shall be inspected and tested for cracks

2 1.6.2 Mechanical system Mandatory items Replace slide bearings and plates on the following: Telescopic beam unit x Side shift frame (8 x bottom and 4 x top) Tension rods Replace buffer pads (landing and 20ft end stop) on the main frame Replace Main frame extend/retract chain inclusive of the sprockets on : Telescopic gearbox Idler sprocket its bearings Replace the side shift mechanism double chain inclusive of the sprockets on : x Side shift gearbox x Double Idler sprocket bearings Replace 4 x twist lock assembly components which include the ff: twist locks and nuts, guide bushes, spherical washers, landing pins and springs. Only OEM componentry shall be used! Repair twist lock linkages on both gable ends. This shall include replacement of the clevis bearings Replace twist lock/unlock arms (2 off on each gable end) Only OEM componentry shall be used Replace twist lock/unlock arms cams on the twistlock gearbox (1 off on each gable end). Only OEM componentry shall be used Replace tension rod buffers. Only OEM componentry shall be used Inspect and replace or repair as necessary Fixed guide arm Extend/retract gearbox Tray for energy chain Tension rods Tension rod runner rails and bottom supports Electrical system Mandatory items Refurbish the extend/retract Electric Motor; Refurbish both twist lock electric motors including respective gearboxes Refurbish the side shift electric motor Replace the main spreader electrical panel inclusive of respective mountings NB. The electrical panel shall be made of S/Steel, and bear the requisite warning electrical shock signage Additionally, the contractor is required to make a laminated drawing housing sleeve inside the electrical panel.

3 Replace the twist lock gable end junction boxes (2 off) with an IFM (ASB) sensor distribution box Supply a new connector cabling from the ASB box to the twistlock/landing pin i.e. at both gable ends Modification of the electrical control system is required to accommodate installation of 2 x IFM (ASB) sensor distribution boxes Replace all electrical cabling on the spreader, including all cable glands Supply and install new power cables for motors on gable end x extend / retract side shift Replace terminal blocks Replace all relays / contactors Replace the hour meter Replace proximity switches (18 off) Replace all proximity clamps Replace the height indication sensors x Pepperl & Fuchs x Siemens Replace Harting pin socket Inspect and replace or repair as necessary Energy chain Rails for terminals in side junction boxes. 1.7 Twist lock components All twist locks shall be OEM and will be individually proof tested and stamped to a loading of 22 t. 1.8 Commissioning Cold Commissioning will include functional testing of the completed spreader prior to returning it to Pier 1Container Terminal. For the purpose of this test, TPT's test panel will be used. Hot Commissioning will include fitting the fully tested spreader onto an RTG container crane in Pier 1 Container Terminal. Once commissioned, the spreader is required to complete a two day period of operation on the crane. During the two days the spreader must be operational and have a demand availability of 100%. The calculation of availability will exclude occurrences such as operator damage, accidents and power supply failure. 2 PROGRAMME A summary programme is required in bar-chart format to show how the refurbishment / upgrade work per spreader will be achieved. 3 INFORMATION TO BE SUBMITTED A data package will be supplied by the Contractor with the refurbished spreader. The package will include all documentation and not limited to the ff: The spreader will be subject to OEM commissioning tests that will form part of a final sign-off QCP.

4 i All twist lock parts shall be offered as OEM parts with their standard test certificates. ii As built (laminated and soft copy) electrical drawings iii Structural repair QCP iv Painting QCP v NDT reports vi A detailed report for work carried out vii Motor refurbishment certificates viii Testing and handover documentation 4 STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS The refurbishment will comply with the following TPT Specifications: HE8/2/2 General electrical equipment HE8/2/3 Electrical motors and generators HE8/2/8 Testing and commissioning of electrical equipment HE8/2/9 Electronic equipment HE8/2/11 Medium voltage equipment for port equipment HE9/2/4 Gearing, shafts, bearings, brakes, lubrication, vee-belts, keys and keyways HE9/2/6 Structural steelwork HE9/2/8 Corrosion protection CONTACT PERSON AMAR Quotation Instructions: 1).PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR QUOTATION ON YOUR COMPANY LETTER HEAD. 2).PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR COMPANY DETAILS. 3). Transnet Port Terminals has the right to split the award of the order/s between more than one Supplier/Service Provider should it at Transnet s discretion be more advantageous in terms of, amongst others, cost or developmental considerations
