The MINI-SP will retain all database information during a power failure for up to 60 days. For optimum reliability, the memory backup battery should be replaced yearly using only a type BR lithium battery or equivalent. TE: When setting up or servicing the MINI-SP, it is recommended to leave the battery bypass sleeve in place until all system testing is completed. By keeping the battery bypass sleeve in between the battery and the '+' post, you can be certain that the memory is being completely flushed during power cycles. Upon completion, be certain to remove the battery bypass sleeve and store it within the enclosure for future use. 08 RS Technologies, LL. - All rights reserved.

6 TO Explanation : Network Interface ard Oview Network Interface ard Setup The 0Base-T Network Interface ard (NI) has been installed on the MINI-SPE by the factory and acts as the interface between the software and the MINI-SPE. The NI will require an IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway in order for the software to communicate with it. To program this information into the NI, a MA Address is required. Every NI has a unique MA Address which can be found on the white tag that is attached to it. A sample of a MA Address would be 00-0-A-7-OF-7F and can be found under the model number of the NI (O-E-AA). Programming the NI can be performed through one of three methods. Method One: RS Programmer (P/N: RS-PROG-TOOL) The RS Programmer comes with a cross-over cable which is used to connect the programmer to the MINI-SPEs NI. After connecting the programmer to the NI, power up the MINI-SPE and the RS Programmer. The programming software will automatically launch. Enter the NIs MA Address into the MA Address fields. Enter the desired IP Address, Gateway and Subnet Mask into their respective fields. Select the appropriate SP type and software application from their respective drop lists and then click the 'Set onfiguration' button. One of two messages will appear, 'onfiguration set!' if the programming was successful or 'Panel timeout' if the programming failed. Method Two: Access It! Ultra SPe IP Programmer Access It! Ultra installs a utilities folder which contains the SPe IP Programmer. If the computer resides on the same subnet as the NI being programmed, you may program it while connected to the network. From the start menu, click Start Programs Access It! Ultra Utilities SPe IP Programmer to run the SP-E/MINI SP-E Programmer utility. Method Three: Manually The manual ARP command is a tedious, but effective method in programming the NI. This method should be used only as a last resort. If the computer resides on the same subnet as the NI being programmed, you may program it while connected to the network. From the start menu, click Start Run followed by typing 'cmd' for NT.0, 000 and XP or 'command' for 98 and Me. This will open a ommand Prompt window from which the following commands will be run from.
