For applications such as VIP close protection, armed convoys and patrols, it is suitable to use up-armored vehicles such as armored SUV and armored cars due to the vehicles discrete appearance. It is important to note that even though they are equipped with full armoring and various safety features such as run-flat tires and blast protection, light-armored vehicles such as the armored Toyota Land Cruiser are designed to provide a means of evasion from the threat, not head to head combat. JOZ is one of the first armored vehicle company in the world that manufactures the fully certified VR7 Toyota Landcruiser 200 Convoy under the new VPAM BRV 2009 standard, a far more comprehensive test procedure compared to the out of date VPAM BRV 1999 VR6 / VR7 standard. JOZ certified VR7 Landcruiser Convoy was independently tested by Beschussamt Mellrichstadt in Germany, defeating all ballistic and blast threats in the new guidelines. In addition to armored commercial vehicles, armored 4x4s and armored sedans, JOZ also manufactures special purpose vehicles that are custom designed for specific applications. We have supplied armored trucks to banks for cash in transit (CIT), developed Tactical Vehicles and Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) as well as armored cargo transport trucks, armored passenger buses/vans and armored ambulances.

4 Armoring Depending on the level of protection and location of our customers, armouring a vehicle is between 4 to 5 weeks. We customise vehicles with some of the highest grade materials available on the market, including aramid, armoured glass and high-strength steel to ensure that a vehicle is protected against threats including military grade and high-power small arms fire, in accordance with the British BS 5051, European EN 1063 and NTC 1417 regulations, and the international regulation UL752 and European DIN.
