Weight has become increasingly important as soldiers are required to carry more essential equipment into the battlefield. The more the weight saved in armour equipment, the more mobility awarded to the soldier. Also, personnel can opt to transform the weight lost from body armour to carrying more ammunition giving the carrier a higher offence capability. These types of ballistic plates come in various sizes and shapes and can be tailormade to the end-customer specifications. These plates can also be used in vehicle, aviation and naval security and they are ready available as stand-alone products. The CAS-P are able to maintain performance even after being hit by multiple rounds and have been designed to stop and contain angle shots thus reducing the risk of rebound to nearby personnel. Furthermore, it also shields the wearer from sharp objects and fragmentation. The CAS-BS1 Bulletproof Shield meets the requirements of NIJ standard Level IIIA. This bulletproof shield is made of high tech composites which still provide maximum protection but at a lower weight. This advanced new material is very capable of dispersing energy from ballistic impact without increasing the weight. In fact, this model weighs just under 5kg. It is also comprised of a stationary handle that comes with thick padding in order to reduce friction with the wearer hence improving comfortability. The CAS-BS1 is currently available in the following size; 55cm by 97cm (22 x 38 ). However, it can be customized according to customer specifications.
