12 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ROUND TANKS Please take a few minutes to read this information carefully & contact us if you have any questions. If your tank is in an exposed area you will need to immediately put 25mm of water into the tank, or if water is not available the tank must be tied down to prevent it from blowing away. We cannot take any responsibility for tanks damaged in this manner. There are three options available for tank site preparation: 1. CONCRETE SLAB INSTALLATION This is our preferred option, as it eliminates the possibility of any erosion. A 100 mm thick concrete slab with reinforcing mesh is ideal The slab should be at least 50mm wider than tank base diametre. 2. GRAVEL PAD INSTALLATION Fine gravel, crusher dust, road sand or packing sand must be used (not washed sand or brickies sand, as these finer sands will wash away). The pad must be at least 50 mm thick, and needs to be compacted. Pad must be screeded level and at least 300 mm wider than tank base diametre. Gravel or Sand must be retained to avoid being washed away. A good option is using 75 x 50 treated pine, as shown below. The pad must be checked regularly to ensure there has been no erosion. If the tank base is undermined, it may not be supported & this may damage the base of the tank. Tanks damaged in this manner will incur a cost for repair. 3. TIMBER STAND INSTALLATION The stand must be capable of holding a full tank of water (keep in mind that 1000 = 1 ton). Decking must be at least the size of the tank base. 13 INFORMATION REGARDING SLIMLINE TANKS We thank you for your order & would like to provide you the following information to ensure that the process of site preparation & receiving your new tank goes smoothly. Please take a few minutes to read this information carefully & contact us if you have any questions. (Please note this information is applicable for slimline tanks, please see other information sheets regarding round tanks and build-on-site tanks): SITE PREPARATION RATION There are three options available for tank site preparation. We do not recommend that a sand pad be used for slimline tanks: 1. CONCRETE SLAB INSTALLATION This is our preferred option, as it eliminates the possibility of any erosion. PAVER INSTALLATION Concrete pavers sitting on a gravel or crushed rock base. Base must be compacted & level prior to placing pavers. It is important that base is evenly compacted, so that tank remains level & stable 3. TIMBER STAND INSTALLATION The stand must be capable of holding a full tank of water (keep in mind that 1000 = 1 ton). Decking must be at least the size of the tank base. There must be no more than 20 mm gap between the boards.

14 DELIVERY DETAILS The delivery of your tank will be on a light truck with a tandem trailer (see photo below). It is your responsibility to ensure that: Your property is clearly numbered or you have supplied us with a sketch map of your location to assist our driver in finding your property. Access to the tank site is free from overhead obstructions (tree branches, power lines) Sufficient width for vehicle to access the site Vehicle is 2.5 m wide. Access to site is dry and firm to avoid the vehicle from sliding/sinking. The delivery driver will need assistance to help unload and position the tank. For tanks up to 4 000, one extra person is required, for all bigger sizes a minimum of two extra people are needed. Is the delivery site considered safe, and without the risk of damage to persons, product or property? If the tank is in an exposed area you will need to either put 25mm of water into the tank, or if water is not available the tank must be tied down to prevent it from blowing away. We cannot take any responsibility for tanks damaged in this manner. If you are unsure regarding any of these issues, please contact us prior to the delivery. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO ENSURE YOU GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR NEW WATER TANK Simple maintenance is needed to keep your tank and the water in it, clean and serviceable. Maintenance is simple and not time-consuming: Water inlet strainers in all tanks should be cleaned monthly. Tank overflow should not be allowed to run down side of tank, but should be plumbed to ground level. Make sure your gutters and downpipes are cleaned regularly to minimise organic build-up. Remember that the water in your tank is only as clean as your catchment areas. It is a good idea to trim overhanging branches and trees to avoid tainting of your water storage.
