M.A.R.S. International, Inc. Background M.A.R.S. founded the concept of the mobile One-Stop Super-Shop for the appearance reconditioning industry in We offer a full menu of services to improve the complete appearance of a vehicle, inside and out, as well as providing a number of aftermarket accessory products. M.A.R.S. provides a solid business plan, extensive training, and on-going assistance to ensure the success rate of our operations. We currently have hundreds of M.A.R.S. operations nationwide, and we are growing steadily. David Jones, pictured with his wife, Judy, started M.A.R.S. in He continues to play a role in the growth of the company as its Director of National Development. David Jones founded M.A.R.S. in 1987 as a distributor of automotive chemical supplies in North Central Texas. In 1989, M.A.R.S. was expanded when it acquired a mobile graphics and detailing business. The mobile business took off, and the company began licensing the concept in In 1998 M.A.R.S. International, Inc. began franchising the mobile appearance reconditioning concept. As the idea caught on, M.A.R.S. International added new repair systems to its growing menu of services, becoming a One-Stop Super-Shop for all appearance reconditioning. Today, M.A.R.S. Operators are trained and certified in over 25 repairs ranging from scratch removal and bumper repair to vinyl, leather, and plastic repairs. M.A.R.S. also provides training on three business systems specifically designed for the mobile reconditioning business. We also provide after-market accessories that can be marketed to new car buyers in addition to our reconditioning services. We are continually reviewing new products and services to offer Operators. In 2004, M.A.R.S. International brought on Mel Luigs as Chief Operating Officer and Donovan Hall as Chief Marketing Officer to spur the growth of the company. That same year, the training center was expanded by more than 3000 square feet to meet the needs of additional training classes and added courses. In August of 2005, the M.A.R.S. International Training Institute was approved as a Career School by the State of Texas. M.A.R.S. Operators receive hands-on training from a professional and experienced staff of trainers. Jayson Jones, Chief Training Officer, has played a key role in what began as a family business. Page 2
M.A.R.S. International Training Institute M.A.R.S. International provides a superior training experience for anyone entering the field of appearance reconditioning. Our training program provides classroom instruction with hands-on experience, utilizing small class sizes for individualized attention over a two-week period. Our facility encompasses 6,500 square feet of classroom and instruction space and three expansive and well-lit service bays to perform work on actual cars while being supervised by M.A.R.S. trainers. Anyone trained by the M.A.R.S. International Training Institute is allowed to return, for additional training at no additional cost, any time during their career as a M.A.R.S. Operator. All graduates are allowed to call the Institute or specific trainers at any time for additional assistance by phone. The M.A.R.S. International Training Institute is approved by the State of Texas and is licensed as School Number S2570 under the Texas Education Code. Fully certified Operators are trained at the M.A.R.S. International Training Institute, which provides them with two weeks of classroom and laboratory training at its Arlington, Texas campus. Following the classroom and laboratory training, those students will participate in two additional weeks of training in the field with an experienced M.A.R.S. Operator/Mentor. One week will be at the Mentor s location and one week will be at the new Operator s location. Page 3

M.A.R.S. Business Development Business Development and Management: Operators receive in-depth training on the accounting and business management processes and procedures for operating a reconditioning business. M.A.R.S. Operators are provided with a laptop computer, necessary software and instruction in its proper operation. They are taught how to use the M.A.R.S. designated accounting system and are provided with a M.A.R.S. company file for their use. Operators are also taught to use the M.A.R.S. web-based invoicing system, payment, and supply reordering process. Business insurance is discussed in depth along with the need for local business licensing and permits. Marketing Support: M.A.R.S. International teaches best practices for marketing a reconditioning business. We also review pricing structures and packaging services to meet customer needs. We have created a number of marketing tools that are reviewed during this training session. Operators are instructed on how to utilize all of the marketing materials and brochures that are available to help promote their businesses. The Mentor Program also provides strong marketing support to new Operators in the field. Page 5
M.A.R.S. International Training Institute M.A.R.S. International provides training on 25 technical appearance reconditioning services, including: Miracle Exterior Services: Advanced Color Theory Paint Touch-Up Scratch Removal Spot Repair & Blending Bumper Repair Miraculous Paint Repair Martians Easy PDR Glass Repair Magic Interior Services: Velour Repair & Carpet Repair Carpet Care Vinyl Repair Leather Repair Comprehensive Dyeing Hard Plastic Repair MARS Blind Stitch Carpet Dyeing Odor Removal Stain Removal Miraculous Accessory Services: Miracle Shield Paint Protection Window Tinting Pinstriping & Graphics Creative Accessories Accent Trim Spray-In BedLiner Brite Lites Page 6
Miracle Exterior Systems Advanced Color Theory: M.A.R.S. knows that accurate, quality repairs depend on the ability to match colors effectively. Advanced Color Theory gives Operators the training and tools required to match colors effectively for both interior and exterior repairs. Operators get the benefit of over a decade of experience in translating Color Theory into an easily performed procedure. Training Operators to provide effective and reliable color matching is a M.A.R.S. specialty. M.A.R.S. Operators are taught to identify, mix, and adjust different values of color. Operators are instructed in how to achieve a perfect color match while learning the difference between dyes and pigments. This information is applied throughout the rest of the M.A.R.S. training program. Paint Touch-Up: You will often hear that anyone can do touch-up. At M.A.R.S., we know that isn t true. Every new vehicle dealer provides touch-up bottles that may or may not match the paint variant on a particular vehicle. Correct touch-up requires the right adjusted color, tools and training to prevent magnifying rock chips or other minor paint damage. M.A.R.S. excels at providing both the right tools and training to ensure the most effective touch-up. The M.A.R.S. Training Institute explains paint history, the value of a great paint touch-up, and how to mix touch-up paint properly. Operators are trained on different application processes and are instructed in clean-up and waste disposal. Page 7
Miracle Exterior Systems Scratch Removal: To properly remove a scratch requires great training. Removing a scratch requires an understanding of paint and it s application. M.A.R.S. Operators are trained in both items, which ensures that scratch removal will not cause additional paint problems or issues. Operators are taught about the surfaces paints are applied on and how the thickness of clear coat affects the scratch removal process. M.A.R.S. educates Operators on all the products and tools required to complete this repair effectively. They also learn color sanding and cut and buff techniques. Spot Repair & Blending: It has been said that spot blending is an art. M.A.R.S. agrees with this statement and has spent a lot of time and effort identifying and quantifying it. In training, Operators are taught the proper methods to match the curves and textures of a surface precisely. M.A.R.S. Operators learn the techniques and methods to identify and provide the proper match of color, hue, value, side-tone and metallic flake. Once the color is matched, M.A.R.S. Operators know how to blend into the existing paint for a seamless repair. Page 8
Miracle Exterior Systems Bumper Repair: Most individuals are completely unaware that bumpers can be repaired effectively for hundreds of dollars less than the cost of a replacement. Bumpers are made in a variety of shapes, textures, and materials. M.A.R.S. trains Operators how to identify the material so they can determine which products should be utilized to achieve a great repair. This process ensures a long-term, problem-free repair. The Spot Repair and Blending skills taught to M.A.R.S. Operators are used extensively in this process to create a seamless bumper repair. Miraculous Paint Repair: MPR is an exciting proprietary material used to answer the needs of our customers. MPR achieves success by binding paint material in clearcoat scratches without the need to damage or thin existing clear coat. Traditional scratch removal involves lowering the clear coat material surrounding the damaged area to match the lowest part of the scratch. This technique compromises an improtant part of the paint system - the clearcoat - lessening its protective value. MPR repairs the damage by binding our proprietary paint materials within the damaged area without damaging the clearcoat, an important part of the paint system that protects vehicles. Page 9
Miracle Exterior Systems Martians Easy PDR: Easy PDR is a Paintless Dent Removal system that does not require drilling holes in a perfectly good vehicle. Damage caused by door dings and shopping carts are removed quickly and efficiently utilizing the Martian Easy PDR system. Operators learn to remove dents using adhesives and dent lifters. Our trainers cover the types of dents, dent removal techniques, and the correct use of all the tools required to complete this type of repair. Glass Repair: Every vehicle at some point in its travel gets a chipped or cracked windshield. A repair can be provided at a fraction of the cost of a new windshield and is typically covered by insurance. Operators gain an understanding of how a windshield is constructed, how glass breaks, what happens when it is damaged, and what a repair will accomplish. They will also develop a working knowledge of the tools of the glass repair system as well as techniques required to successfully repair bullseye, star, combination, and partial bullseye breaks. Page 10
Magic Interior Systems Velour and Carpet Repair: Velour and Carpet fabrics are used in millions of vehicles today. Damage from cigarette burns, tears, or cuts can lead to further damage. Velour is a material that must be mixed and applied to match for an effective repair. Carpet repair may take dyeing, repair, or stain removal to renew its appearance and express the true worth of a vehicle. Both Velour and Carpet Repairs are comprehensive systems that match the thousands of variations in texture and color that are found in vehicles today. Carpet Care: M.A.R.S. Operators are taught how to install carpet care protection and the benefits of this system in the merchandising of Pre-Owned vehicles. Vinyl and Leather Repair: Vinyl and Leather come in a huge variety of colors and textures. M.A.R.S. Operators are trained, in detail, how to complete a repair, effectively matching these two components. Operators first learn how to properly identify the material, and then how to provide an effective, permanent repair of the material itself. They are taught the processes used to repair different types of damage and the correct use of tools to complete the job properly. The M.A.R.S. Operator is then trained to identify and match both the color and the texture of the material, leaving a permanent, seamless repair. Page 11
Magic Interior Systems Comprehensive Dyeing: Many surfaces in a vehicle are dyed materials hard plastics, padded plastic, seats, consoles, and door inserts all represent materials with dyed surfaces. Just as with paint, many of these colors are not simply colors, but present a variety of different textures and finishes. M.A.R.S. trains Operators to match both the color and finish using high quality and permanent material. Hard Plastic Repair: Hard Plastics are used in every one of today s vehicles; when you look inside a vehicle, interior plastic is evident. When plastic is cracked or has holes from a previously installed item, it makes the vehicle appear poorly maintained M.A.R.S. Operators are taught how to seamlessly repair the plastic using a variety of products and processes. Once the damage is repaired, M.A.R.S. Operators are taught to match the texture and finish of the material and dye the surface, which makes the difference between an amateurish and a professional repair. Page 12
Magic Interior Systems MARS Blind Stitch: Wherever people sit, they cause wear to the material they are sitting on wearing the thread and stressing the seams of the seat. Spending money to fully reupholster a seat doesn t make sense if it can be repaired with a little thread and a lot of technique. M.A.R.S. Operators are taught several techniques to repair damage created by this normal wear and tear on the seams of a seat. In some cases, even extensive damage near a seam can be completely repaired using the M.A.R.S. Blind Stitch techniques. M.A.R.S. Operators are taught how to stitch a seam that is undetectable. Blind Stitching is a permanent and completely non-obtrusive repair. Carpet Dyeing: Carpets take a lot of abuse spilled drinks, dogs, sunlight, mud, and more. Any and all of these can create havoc with the carpet in a vehicle. M.A.R.S. provides Operators with the products and techniques to fully dye damaged carpet areas to match and leave it with its original look and feel. Page 13
Magic Interior Systems Odor Removal: When an odor plagues a vehicle, it creates an uncomfortable environment for passengers. If a potential buyer sits down in a vehicle they are interested in purchasing and find the smell of the vehicle to be offensive, their interest in that vehicle will likely be lost. Operators are taught the chemical composition of different odors. They also learn how to use chemicals to break down various odors, allowing for their removal. Operators learn how to identify the source of an odor and are then able to remove odors using a blend of techniques and chemical treatments. M.A.R.S. eliminates not only the odor, but the source of the odor so that it is permanently removed from the vehicle. Stain Removal: Spills, dirt and mud, and other chemicals leave stains on the fabric interiors of vehicles. M.A.R.S. trains Operators how to effectively remove unsightly stains from the interior of any vehicle. Operators are taught how to use the proper equipment and techniques to remove different types of stains. Operators receive complete instruction on cleaning products and equipment. They learn the proper mixing ratio and application of stain removal products. Page 14
Miraculous Accessory Systems Miracle Shield Paint Protection: Many of todays vehicle owners desire to protect their investment. The M.A.R.S. Miracle Shield paint protection film accomplishes just that. Operators are taught how to properly prepare the vehicle before application of the paint film. They receive hands-on training with our paint protection film as they are taught the proper installation process. Operators also gain an understanding of the advantages to having the paint protection film installed on a vehicle and the warranty of the product. Window Tinting: Window Tinting is a popular choice with today s consumers. Besides the privacy and comfort it offers, it also protects the interior of the vehicle from the effects of the sun. M.A.R.S. Operators are taught how to prepare and professionally install Window Tinting. Page 15
Miraculous Accessory Systems Pinstriping & Graphics: There is no more effective way to enhance and personalize the look of a vehicle than with pinstriping or graphics. Operators are taught the application process for applying pinstripes and graphics to a vehicle. They learn about color choice, application methods, cutting techniques, location of stripes and graphics, as well as marketing tips. They are also taught how to use a M.A.R.S. software product to demonstrate how any particular graphic of choice will appear on a particular make and model of a vehicle. Creative Accessories: Another signature mark used in personalizing todays vehicles are accessories. M.A.R.S. Operators are taught how to properly install creative accessories such as spoilers, wood grain kits, dash caps, and a wide array of other interior and exterior products. Accent Trim: Operators are also instructed on the proper installation of accent trim, which like other accessories, adds value to the vehicle and can improve the purchase price. Page 16
Miraculous Accessory Systems Spray-In BedLiner: After you have spent thousands of dollars on a new truck, the last thing you want is to scratch the bed while hauling items around. A Spray-In BedLiner is a great way to prevent this type of damage. Operators learn how to prepare all the materials required for this system, including how to tint the material to match the original paint scheme. They are taught the physical application of the material to include sanding and spraying mixtures properly. Students also learn the proper drying, cleaning, and waste disposal processes. Brite Lites: Oxidized headlights can diminsh the perceived value of a great vehicle. Operators are instructed on the proper way to eliminate oxidation that contaminates the outside of headlights, fog lights, and tail lights. Operators learn about the products used in this system and how to correctly apply them. Page 17
