2 AMENDMENT NO. 3 DECEMBER 2013 TO IS 8034 : 2002 SUBMERSIBLE PUMPSETS SPECIFICATION (Second Revision) (Page 1, clause 6.2.1, Sl No. 2) Insert or Nitrile rubber after IS 318 material of construction (Page 4, clause 7.1, Table 1) Substitute the following Tables 1 to 5 for Table 1: Table 1 Values of Performance Characteristics for 2-Pole, 415 V, 50 Hz Three Phase, Water Filled Submersible s for Bore Size Nominal 100mm and OD of 98 mm in the Operating Head Range for Checking the Nonoverloading Torque(In Terms of Percentage of Full Load Torque) kw A A Percent (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) current limits specified are for 415 V rated voltage. For other voltages, it shall be in inverse proportion to rated voltage. 2 For three phase motors, the value of current shall be taken as average value of the current measured in three phases. 3 Values given in col 3 are 1.07 times of the values given in col 2. 4 Performance values of 4-pole three phase motors and 2-pole three phase motors of less than 1.1 kw and exceeding 5.5 kw rating shall be as declared by the manufacturer. 5 However, for three phase motors above 5.5 kw rating, the declared value of efficiency shall not be lesser than 5.5 kw value. 6 efficiency factors shall be applied for Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 to arrive the minimum-overall efficiency of the pumpset. (Page 8, clause ) Insert the following new clause after clause : The pumpset shall be tested at rated conditions and the maximum current consumption of the pumpset at the operating head range shall be verified. The actual verified current shall be more than the permissible limit of maximum current of next lower rating specified in col 3 of the Tables 1 to Table 5. NOTE The above clause is to ensure proper rating of pumpset (Page 8, clause 15.3, line 5) Substitute Tables 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for Table 1. [Page 8, clause 16.1 (n)] Delete with variation. 7 5 1 The efficiency in figure represents three or more stages: a) For two stage pump, multiply efficiency given by a factor b) For single stage pump, multiply efficiency given by a factor The motor efficiency factor of motor ratings not given in the Tables 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 shall be as declared by the manufacturer. The motor efficiency factor of motors used with pumpsets suitable for bore sizes more than 200 mm shall be as declared by the manufacturer but it shall be not less than the motor efficiency factor of motors of same rating for 200 mm bore size. 3 For overall efficiency of the pumpset, multiply pump efficiency by corresponding motor efficiency factor as given in the Tables 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. 4 The efficiency chart includes non-return valve losses. 5 of the pumpsets having declared duty points beyond the efficiency lines on either side may be declared by the manufacturer and applicable tolerance applied.
