11 Technical Highlight Hand Built AMG 4.0L Biturbo V8 Engine (M178) The newly developed AMG 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine in the Mercedes-AMG GT and GT S combines outstanding performance with the ideal weight distribution (47:53). It is installed behind the front axle and connected to the transmission at the rear axle in a transaxle configuration. A dry sump lubrication system further lowers the vehicle's center of gravity and improves lateral acceleration. 12

12 Technical Highlight AMG SPEEDSHIFT Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) 13 The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-Speed sports transmission consists of two automated sub-transmissions, each with a separate clutch. This facilitates spontaneous gear shifts that deliver extremely fast shift times with no interruption of tractive power. The transaxle transmission is paired to two types of Limited Slip Differentials: depending on the model with GT featuring a mechanicallyactuated version and GT S featuring an electronically-actuated version with faster detention of variance of wheel speeds Integrated rear axle differential lock for improved traction Five available transmission modes through AMG DYNAMIC SELECT (information available on AMG DYNAMIC SELECT technical highlight page) RACE START for optimum acceleration from a standstill (activated by pulling on both shift paddles simultaneously) *AMG GT S only Manual mode "M" can be called upon using the "M" button located on the AMG Drive Unit Gliding mode and ECO start/stop function in transmission mode "C

13 Technical Highlight AMG DYNAMIC SELECT MY17 AMG GT MY17 AMG GT S 14 If the beating heart of every AMG is its engine, the brain of each and every AMG is AMG DYNAMIC SELECT, part of the overall selectable functionality of the AMG Drive Unit. Allows all-encompassing control of the vehicle s parameters for engine mapping, throttle response, suspension adjustment, steering, exhaust, and shift points. Beginning with C (Comfort), each mode is progressively enhanced in aggressiveness, up to Sport Plus or RACE mode (AMG GT S only) I Individual C Comfort S Sport S+ Sport Plus RACE (AMG GT S only) Separate functions included on the AMG Drive Unit include AMG RIDE CONTROL (GT S only), AMG Performance Exhaust (GT S only), Manual Transmission Override, ECO Stop/Start, and 3-Stage ESP

15 Technical Highlight AMG High Performance Braking System MY17 AMG GT MY17 AMG GT S 16 Excellent deceleration values and precision-sensitive braking are features of the AMG high-performance composite braking system with largedimensioned brake discs, which are all internally ventilated, grooved and perforated. 16 Technical Highlight AMG Sports Suspension (AMG GT only) The AMG sports suspension of the AMG GT delivers impressive road holding performance. This is due to the implementation of a doublewishbone design that has proved successful in AMG motorsports. Integral to this design, the wheel location and suspension functions are entirely separate. Therefore, the driver benefits from stable and harmonious handling performance, even at the limits, thanks to a high level of camber and enough damping for quick reflexes in a track setting. Important performance data: All four wheels are located on double wishbone suspension, with separate control of wheels and springs A high level of camber and track rigidity ensures more precise wheel location and more communicative road feel at the handling limit Wishbones, steering knuckles and hub carriers are made of forged aluminum reduce unsprung weight 17

17 Technical Highlight AMG RIDE CONTROL Sports Suspension (AMG GT S only) With its adjustable electronically controlled damping system, the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension ensures optimum driving dynamics as well as hallmark comfort on long journeys. Important performance data: Three suspension levels: "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport Plus" can be set manually at the touch of a button or by selecting the appropriate transmission mode via the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT controller The continuous damping system significantly improves both handling safety and ride comfort The adjustment of the hydraulic damping system is regulated individually for each wheel 18

18 Technical Highlight AMG Electronic Limited Slip Differential (AMG GT S only) The AMG GT S features an electronic AMG rear axle limited slip differential which can adjust to defined locking ratios within milliseconds. This delivers targeted improvements to traction, and also to driving stability in slaloms or when changing lanes at high speed. Variable locking effect in acceleration and deceleration mode The driven wheels benefit from outstanding traction at all friction levels 19

24 Package Detail AMG Aerodynamics Package A large front splitter that ends in flics at the air intakes, a fixed rear aerofoil and flics at the front wheel arches increase the negative lift force. Consequently, handling is improved at high speeds, in particular lateral acceleration, driving stability and the braking distance. The Aerodynamics package is completed by specific side skirt attachments that create a strikingly sporty look.
