It s development was largely based on vast motor racing experience in AMG GT3 customer sport, and the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) Series. Further, considerable development time in the "Green Hell" of the Nurburgring racetrack allows one to feel the vehicle s motorsport origins in every fiber. Meanwhile, the AMG GT C opens up a new level of performance below the topof-the-line AMG GT R, with which the new model shares the same athletic rearend shoulders as well as high-calibre technology features. The AMG GT C is thus aimed even more at those wishing to drive at the limit. 24 Unique Selling Points Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe Aggressive Styling Form follows function, and function supports form. It is this principle that helped form the AMG GT. Every aggressive exterior design aspect is purposeful, not just mere aesthetics. Driving Dynamics The AMG GT R combines the driving dynamics of the AMG GT3 racing car with the everyday practicality of the AMG GT Coupe. Radical acceleration, precise steering, and sensational grip all come standard. First impressions are of the sheer force of the GT R s acceleration and how angry it sounds. Second impressions, arriving seconds later, are of the severity of the g- forces generated under braking and how even the heavily bolstered sport seat suddenly feels short on lateral support in the corners. Third impressions? Maybe lunch wasn t such a great idea. Car and Driver The 911 has always been on the sportier side of things and recent redesigns made it increasingly more aggressive. However, I think that it s not as menacing as the AMG GT C. It may be sportier than the standard AMG GT, but it s no match for the GT C s muscular front bumper and creased engine hood.. TopSpeed But numbers are only part of the story the AMG GT R was developed on the Nürburgring and is chock full of technology derived from Mercedes' various motorsport operations. Put another way, it's intended to be fast on race tracks; street performance is a secondary concern. AutoBlog 25
